The Employees dont give a shit about service or food quality.They didnt even have Salads , or ketchup or a lot of other items available Like I have said in other South Phoenix reviews that the services in the local business has gone to shit. 10/31 @1:19am visit Walked into front door to an empty yet very clean lobby, upon entering parking lot I could see a packed drive thru..so expected a little wait, but this was beyond little. I stood at counter for 3mins. During which, Cook cleaned grill, spatula, pulled frys, checked his screens, and cooked. Asst to Cook made burgers, made frys, talked with cook about me (they looked at me), took boxes out of back, broke down box. Boris (MOD) Now at 5 min (pulled out chair and am sitting, still nothing has been said to me. Boris has helped 4 cars since I entered making over 20 trips between fry station and drive thru window, comes to front runs credit card on front counter comp. Looks at me says "be right with you" as mono toned as he could. (6:00) Goes back completes 5th car after returning to grab food from fry station. At about 7:00 mins in he returns to front and says "what can I get you?" (after 7mins he was no more excited to see me then a dog going to the vet) I explained my order and did one at a time since it was same item different preps, yet was still wrong. Asked for extra sauce for 2 large frys and 3 taquitos, got 3 sauces, which he had to go get from drive thru, where he again serviced another car, while I waited for extra sauce, my 3 sauce packets. I have stopped going to Whataburger because of this location on Broadway & 48th street. If I could give it a negative star I would. This was the last chance I gave that store. So today I went through their drive-thru because I was craving their chickens strips was asked to wait on ordering no big deal. Five minutes later they come on speaker telling me they don't have this and that. It was also fine I wasn't ordering any those items anyway. Got to window pretty quickly and paid. Then we got our soda's with no straws and waited and waited and waited. After about 15 minutes of waiting I'm just thinking everything is going to be really fresh. Now we order around 2:45pm at the speaker so about 3:08pm I looked into the window which they closed and saw a bunch of employees and managers just walking and talking around. So they weren't under staffed. I also see a bag just sitting there. I'm now getting irritated and looking behind me to see a huge line of cars behind me now. Another five minutes roll by and I make eye contact with someone in the window. They obviously ask about my order and then I see someone run over grab the bag that has now been sitting on that counter for over ten minutes and open window and hand me this bag. I'm now mad that our bag had just been sitting there and ask my passenger to check it there at the window. The fires were barely lukewarm and so I ask them to change them for fresh ones. I handed the bag back and then had to listen to the employees arguing about how the fires were fresh. I straight out had to tell them to taste the fries for themselves because they definitely were not fresh before the got a move on it. The finally had me a bag with fries in but they only put two orders in the bag and I had three. I tell them that and the guy at the window gives me the most condescending "its coming" tone. I take the third order of fries from him and he asks in the that same tone "anything else" and I use the same tone back and said yes the rest of the food. They hand me the rest of the food I'm driving away when I taste the fires and realized they gave me back the fires I handed back to them. To mad to drive back there I go to not only the bad fries but to find out that the chicken I order is as hard as a hockey puck and they did not put the gravy I ask for in the box and I still had no damn straws. What's worse about this experience is that this was not even the first or fifth time this has happen with bad customer service and even worse food at this location. They just lost a customer for life because I'm not going out of my way to find a different Whataburger. Anyone reading this just don't go to the one on 48th street& Broadway. No one cares at that store not even the Managers of that store because I've talked to every single one them and this stuff is still going on. STAY AWAY! read more

This Restaurant was very unprofessional and dirty. Lobby was dirty . Bathrooms were dirty. Food was made incorrectly for the customers in front of me in line. Staff was a younger group standing around laughing and carrying on with former employee instead of attended to the duties they should have been taken care of. Very horrible experience. I called a day prior 6/30/20 to check if the dinning room was open as I was traveling across town from 7th St/Hatcher to meet a friend. They said yes at 11:00 AM it would be open. We showed up today 7/1/20 at 10:45 AM and asked an employee that was outside if they were going to open the doors for dine in and he said yes at 11:00 AM. Well ourselves and 3 other people waited for the doors to open, but nothing. The employee's that we could see inside would not look towards us and they kept hanging up the phone when we called. We waited until 11:15 AM and all of us left. Now I don't mind if they don't allow dine in with what were all going through w/ this Covid-19 Kung-Flu, but that is why I checked first. Great management skills. At least put up a sign or answer the phone and say we're not opening. I know it won't hurt them, but I won't come back to this location. And I do love Whataburger. At 6:45 PM on 9/12/19 I stopped into this Whataburger to grab dinner. One woman was in front of me was reading from her cell phone to place a large order. She kept making changes and it was taking a ridiculous amount of time. Behind the cashier, there were NINE other employees in the kitchen area. Two appeared to be working on food preparation and one was working on drive-thru. The others seemed to just be "having a good time." The entire time I stood in the lobby, not one employee including the cashier acknowledged my presence, said "We will be right with you" or "Sorry for the wait." No one even came to the second register to take my order, I finally decided to leave and go up the street to Del Taco where I was waited on promptly and served a great Double Del Burger with guacamole. Now I understand a restaurant can get busy and some people need to place large orders. However, to see the majority of employees taking no active part in cooking , cleaning or serving while a customer is waiting to be served is unacceptable. My time is as valuable as anyone else's. If this is the level of service to expect from this Whataburger, I am certain I will never be coming back or recommending this place again. Very disappointed! read more

Lobby is always lonely. There's a sharp curve at the exit of the drive thru that everyone runs over, so be careful. Transients are in and out. Whataburger needs to shrink their drink sizes and increase their fries sizes -- its disproportionate. read more

I'm done with this place I came here on my lunch to pick up food for coworkers and they left off some chicken bites A part of a combo. I went back and they were not so polite about it but I asked them to re-cook the french fries because they were cold. They said I would have to wait five minutes so I waited to give me the bag and I rushed back to work I got back to work and they didn't give me back the chicken strip burger that I had ordered with the original food. I LOVE Whataburger, my favorite burger in the valley! Whenever I am asked would I like to grab a burger and where Whataburger is the first answer off my lips... I almost ALWAYS get the Monterey Jack or just a whataburger, but today I felt I would broaden my horizons. I ordered a double bacon burger with avocado...HUGE mistake!!! The bacon was GROSS and the avocado tasted funny as well....was not a good lunch, very disappointed...the bacon tasted as though it were days old and reheated, the avocado was mushy most definitely not what I would expect from Whataburger. Interesting visit thus evening as my wife and I visited this chain of fast food joint for the 2nd time. Great food. We feel the need to let the guy who takes orders at about 2 am know when a customer asks about what time the milk shake machine goes down you cant just say whenever i get to it cause i might just return another night at the same time and get your same dumb response again.
