Staff were pretty ridiculous and yelled at me to get out of the lobby saying it was closed (was 11:00pm when lobby "closes" at 12:00am), refused to serve breakfast (11:00pm-11:00am) by the time we got to the drive thru line (11:30pm), and waited in a line of 5 cars for another half hour to get our food. I get it's late night fast food and all, but pretty bogus of these guys to be this lazy when they know there's money to bring in the door. Needs better management or owners who care. read more

Have been to this location many times. The food is consistently good. Burgers are hot and fresh. Special orders, such as grilled onions or Texas toast, have always been correct. Lettuce is always fresh (not limp and brown - one of my pet peeves). Fries are fresh and hot with the right amount of salt (lots, LOL!). The drive thru experience at Whataburger can be a bit slower than some places but I suspect that this is because Whataburger welcomes special orders. Breakfast is also good. The morning manager is very friendly and the coffee is hot and fresh. What more could you ask for in a Whataburger? read more

Dined here this morning with my teenaged son. Burgers and fries are his absolute favorite. I have always ordered a chicken sandwich here but decided to try something different. I ordered the Whataburger signature #1 with no onion and I finished mine before my son did!!! It is delicious! Obviously prepared fresh with fresh vegetables and condiments! They bring it to your table and even come by with trays of dipping sauce, extra condiments and napkins! Everyone who works here is always immaculate in their appearance and so friendly and inviting. Robert cane over to check on us and I told him that it was the best burger that I have had in a long time! He pleasantly chuckled and asked if he could get us anything else. We were full by this point so he kindly took our tray and we left with happy tummies! It is truly hard to beat this Whataburger location. Been to many restaurants in the Dallas area. Both high-end and super casual and I can say that this is really one of my favorite places! Always great! Always a place you can count on! Something on the menu for everyone. The service is great, the manager is really nice, but the bathrooms smell HORRIBLE! I can't help but wonder why someone who works at the location hasn't walked outta the bathroom waving a white flag. Seriously, it's that bad. We recently moved close and our first visit I thought maybe someone just layered the bathroom with some internal stink, but after our second visit I realized they must have a plumbing issue that isn't a priority for the owner of the establishment. When you enter the restaurant, there is a sign on the door about staffing shortages. Should have known that this was a precursor to what was about to happen. This review is for 12:15 pm on Wednesday, May 25. I know it's lunch time but at least make an effort. Waited in line about 10 minutes, not bad. Then, NOTHING HAPPENED. Sat down to wait for our order and the line at the counter just got longer and longer. I started counting the number of customers that stood in line and then left before ordering, at least TWENTY! I then noticed that NO ONE WAS MANNING THE COUNTER! After about 30 minutes of waiting, our food was brought out. IT WAS COLD!!!!!!!!! How can it be cold after waiting that long? And it wasn't the kind of cold that is freshly cooked but just sat too long, it was the kind of cold from being cooked a long time ago! REALLY? At least the fries were hot. While my co worker and I sat and ate our cold burgers, I saw what I thought was a member of the management team enter, a guy with a starched whit shirt with the Whataburger logo on it carrying a briefcase. I thought that something would start to happen but it never did. Never saw him on the floor. Still no guy at the register! WOW! I went there with my family for lunch on Saturday. Staffs were friendly and eager to help you get your order in. Place/deco is very bland. It felt too utilitarian and not cheery enough. Whataburger I ate was decent sized but that's about where all the positives end. It reminded me of Whopper from Burger King but with less flavor. Fries were ok. Overall, it was just ok. I don't know why I keep coming here! I ordered a just a burger with cheese ( no cheese on the burger) light mustard and they put enough ketchup for 3 orders of fries... AND 9 pickled plopped all together on one side and ketchup on the other! Yes I counted the pickles after my kid bit into the burger and almost puked! This location has gone downhill since it opened!! When they get it right, they do it right .... But this location suffers from a quality control problem ... Can't tell the last time they got our order completely right ... Missing condiments, cheese when no cheese was requested, wrong burger, etc ... What a disaster. Ordered online tonight and went to pick up my order. Got in online order location. At the time they said my order would be ready. Someone came to ask who I was. 20 minutes later no one came back. I got I drive thru. They said to go to front of store. Seriously. There were 5 people in front of me and I cant drive past them. Burgers are nasty, they taste bad. The place is dirty and they take a long time to serve you.

Sadly a dirty place, even though it's relatively new. Bathrooms nasty, all tables had some sort of grime, liquid or burner ingredient on them when I tried to sit down. Food is good, as expected but after seeing the bathroom and tables I would have walked out had I not ordered already. read more

The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars, is because of a certain lady named Joyce. We waited in line before we got to give our order for about 15 minutes which is expected because whatabuger is such a popular joint. We ordered one junior sized mushroom Swiss burger and were sent to the B line. At that time we had 2 cars behind us in the B line only. And within that time those 2 car were served given their meals and drove off, as well as the people in the other line that had been before AND behind us in the original line. When the drink was brought to us a young man he came to our window and then became distracted with another worker and talked to him rather than process our order and help us, including asking if he could set the order that was in his hand ON THE GROUND while he ran our card. I get working a fast food line is not the most glorious but it is still your job and customer service and cleanliness standards should still be your priority. We then continued to wait in line for somewhere between 20-30 minutes. Nothing ever came to us. At that point we parked the car and my girlfriend went into that restaurant to see if we could get our simple ONE MEAL. After she was in there for about 5-10 minutes she returned and we left. As I was rather upset that we just paid for a meal that shouldn't have taken more than 10 minutes to be given to us, I called the place. When I began to speak Ms. Joyce answered and she knew exactly what had happened and was apologetic and displeased with the service we received and promised a better and returned service the next time we came in. She alone is the only reason we will ever return to the McKinney whataburger. If more people were hired like her and actually cared about the service, respect and timeliness of the whole experience this would be the best place around. Please be more diligent in who you are hiring and how you are training them to be aware of the people they are serving. Thank you Ms. Joyce, but be better whataburger. read more

Oh Whataburger, you should check up on your chicken recipe. The burgers are great, shakes are delicious, and jalapeno cheddar sauage biscuit is so good. But the chicken though...and the fries, just no bueno. I stopped here coming back from a late night movie hungry because i still hadnt ate dinner and was really wanting some chicken. It was very dry and had very little flavor. Im not a big fan of french fries anyways, but they were the same, just flavorless. Service was just okay as well, but im not deducting for that because it was 130 in the morning and who wants to be working at a fast food place at one in the morning. Five stars for the food. Whataburger is a Texas staple. No issues with the food except the multiple times when our order has been wrong. The worst part of this Whataburger location experience is the wait in the drive thru. If you weren't very hungry when you pulled into the drive thru you absolutely will be by the time you get your food. Excessively long lines and slow service. A former Dallas Cowboy was recently arrested for being under the influence and passing out in the drive thru lane at a McKinney Whataburger. Quite frankly I don't know if he was under the influence or not but I can certainly understand falling asleep in your car while waiting for your food at this location. Chick-Fil-A has cars wrapped around the building and they move people through quicker than three cars at Whataburger. Bring a snack with you while you wait read more

I have to admit that I am a big fan of Whataburger. This particular location is near my home and a Lowe's that I frequent. The start to many of my weekend projects is a visit to Lowe's followed by a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Taquito at Whataburger. I always go into the restaurant instead of just going to the drive through lane. The restaurant is always clean. The staff members are friendly and helpful. I have had multiple issues over many years mainly seeming to stem from the base employees at this location. Issues stemming from not putting in items you specifically ask for, to giving you a completely wrong order as they did tonight. The last straw has been drawn. They do not ask you if you want any condiments in the drive through, do not confirm the order you asked for. And if you do try to confirm your own order you are responded to in a nasty tone. I love Whataburger as a Texan but this location off of 121 and Custer rd. It's not worth going to if you aren't going to get the proper service. Some may say "well it's fast food" or " they just don't care" I'll say to fire them. In all honesty, any job that I have had from fast food, retail, to selling vehicles; it has never been acceptable to do anything less than what's asked of you to preform your job. Maybe it's that the management at this location just doesn't care. I would like to give management the benefit of the doubt and say it's the regular employees that are slacking on their job. But I'm personally done going to this location. I would rather go another 2 miles to the next closest and get my order done right the first time and get the care every customer should get. I always enjoy getting a good cup of coffee in the morning however it's the third time something goes wrong with my coffee at this location. One time it was cold, the second time they didn't have any. Other two times I've eaten my words but today I told the lady I didn't want cold coffee in 46 degree weather. I was hoping she would offer to brew me some fresh coffee but she seemed like she wasn't willing to do that which I then resulted in asking for an orange juice instead. They didn't have any so she offered me apple juice. How does this place run out of stuff in the morning coffee/oj it's a brand new BK location? Is it bad management? Also, I asked for ketchup and I thought I was at Popeyes because the ketchup said Popeyes ketchup. Did they run out of ketchup and went next door for some?
