The burger that beats #5 - Whataburger With Bacon And Cheese - hasn't yet been invented! The chain hasn't been on top of its game lately (this superfan has had a number of less-than-stellar experiences), but our visit to this location restored my faith. The food was Whataburger at its best. Just out of curiosity - what is the real address? Our receipt said 18811 Hwy 40; Whataburger.com and Google say 18902.

Service is the worst I have ever experienced, and my order was incorrect when it came out. They definitely need some process improvement!

Terrible wait for terrible food. Like Burger King but a lot worse. Don't get the hype. Go elsewhere

Slowest whataburger I've ever visited! Food is fine but their are slow no matter how many people are in the line or what time of the day.

The slowest service I have ever seen. They have absolutely no clue what they are doing and cannot manage fast food service at all.

The PB & J Burger sounds wild on paper, but it absolutely works. The peanut butter brings that rich, savory creaminess, and paired with the jalapeño jelly, it hits this perfect sweet-with-a-kick balance that keeps every bite interesting. It's one of those burgers that makes you stop after the first bite like, "okay... this is legit." The Sweet Heat Burger leans even more into that flavor combo. The sweetness comes through first, then the heat builds, and that jalapeño jelly really ties it all together, adding both sweetness and a subtle spice that doesn't overpower the burger itself. It's bold, messy in the best way, and just really well executed. Neither of these quite cracked my personal #1 burger of all time, but they're not far off. Both were seriously delicious, packed with flavor, and easily worth trying if you're in the area.

We had the Classic Burger and it was amazing. Always fresh and served fast. I got the onion rings, my husband got the fries. We always share them because we can never decide which we like better. The place was packed when we came in right during lunch rush, but service was still friendly and quick. I love that they still keep that food truck vibe from the old days.

Highly recommend for a great burger!…read more In town for 2 days on a short work trip and was looking for something quick to grab for lunch when I came across Rascals. I wanted something different and the burgers looked awesome, so I decided to give it a try. Absolutely did not disappoint, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long while. They don't skimp out on the food either, the burger was huge and the fry portion was more than I could eat in one sitting. The guy working the window, who I assume is probably the owner, was super friendly and accommodating. He took the extra time to make sure I had everything I needed and checked to make sure I didn't need anything else before I left. Would recommend 10/10.

Taylor or Tylor! But anyway-he was such an uplifting individual, and very helpful!  I ordered a simple burger that day, but remember enjoying for the most part. This will be a shorter one I suppose since that was pretty much the jist of it lol.  I sat in my car not far from the truck to eat my burger. I do remember it being really juicy. Borderline Too juicy for the bun it was on, but I figured due to the culinary nature of the product it was normal.   I honestly didn't love the burger,  but I'm definitely eager to give them a second go in the future. ^__^  I appreciate how kind and inviting Tylor/Taylor was!  I hope he's there when I return!  And I'll make sure to get his name. The carhops came right up to our window to take our order and were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The menu is surprisingly large for such a small place. We ordered the Wiz Burger, chicken nuggets, tots, onion rings, fries, and Brown Cow root beer floats. Prices were very reasonable, which was a nice bonus. One thing I really loved was the option to order their homemade root beer in an ice-cold glass mug (which you return when you're done). It definitely adds to the nostalgic experience. Our favorite items were the crispy tater tots, the chicken nuggets (which were more like mini chicken strips), and the root beer floats. The Wiz Burger was definitely unique, but it wasn't a crowd-pleaser in our car. It's made with loose meat mixed with onions, pickles, and cheese, which may appeal to some but wasn't our favorite. I'd definitely go back to try the chicken sandwich, pork tenderloin, or spicy buffalo dog. The food itself might be closer to 3 stars, but the unique throwback nostalgia of the carhop era bumps the overall experience into 4-star territory. It's a must-try-at-least-once kind of place.

My review is, for me, the burger, its not that good, its just not for me. My expectation was, they had the "IT FACTOR" for the burgers. Something you would have expected from the day, 60/70 years ago. The old larger bun, not biscuit size, grilled burger meat, mine seemed losely patted and steamed and more than pickle, onion and mustard. Maybe thats just the way its always been and others love it. Im glad I went but it is a one stop for me. I wish you another 70 years of continued service and a great icon of Independence, Mo.
