After reading all the mixed reviews, I was second guessing about coming here tonight. It's Sunday, around 6:45 pm. I was able to get my order, the cashier brought my food rather fast. I ordered the patty melt combo, so I could try the fries. Over all pretty pleasant experience. Reminds me of comfort food served fast. I think next time I'll try the breakfast and hopefully will get the Same experience as I did this evening. read more

The food is generally good, but the service is always terrible. The last two times I've been there I have waited nearly 30 minutes for my order and have had to remind staff that I was waiting for food when they came up to me after 20 minutes to ask if I had been waited on. They always seem fully staffed but the drive-thru is backed up and staff seem clueless about how to handle busy spells. I'm baffled by the fact that it takes 28 minutes to make a burger and two orders of fries. read more

The hype doesn't match the experience. The hamburger was bland and dry. The bun was over-toasted and a bit stale. French fries were hot but lacking seasoning. There are plenty of other hamburger restaurants nearby that are far better. Would recommend that you skip this one. read more

I finally tried whatabuger and I knew I'd be waiting a while so I went inside to order to go it took 40 min to get my food and the fries went even hot cause I tried them in the car on my way home plus they didn't really taste that good , I think they need to change their oil , the cheeseburger was just ok not worth all the hipe everyone is acting like it's the best thing ever , Freddy's and Culver's is better ! WARNING DO NOT GO HERE! THERE ARE SO MANY BURGER PLACES THAT ARE BETTER. I've been to this location multiple times. The drive-through wait time is the worst I have ever experienced. I have waited in this drive-thru for over 30 minutes at 10 pm at night. Not once but made the mistake twice. I only waited because I had a hungry kid at home and she wanted this. NEVER do this drive-thru ever again. The reason I'm writing this review now is the management is also the worst I have ever experienced. After another long wait during the day (17 minutes in the drive-through) they messed up both sandwiches and forgot to put the fries in the bag. Very frustrating but I was more hungry than anything. I parked and went inside to get my fries. A woman approached apologized and gave them to me. When I got back in the car my daughter told me her sandwich was wrong. They put onions on it. She is allergic to them. The wrapper clearly had the no onion sticker on it and so did the ticket. I went inside to correct the problem. I waited a long time by the registers before I had to flag someone down. I tried to tell them what was going on but this person turned the conversation sideways and started going in on me about how he couldn't touch the package once it went out the door. Very strange/odd turn of the conversation which I literally didn't care about. I told him I was so tired of the problems I experienced here. He told me, "Why don't you go someplace else?" He made a great point! I set the sandwich on the counter after looking around for a trash can and left. He didn't even ask what was wrong or if it could be fixed. This person claimed to be the manager when I asked. I WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN. I called to complain on their main corporate line and was told they would take care of it and I would get a refund. SURPRISE! No refund. No follow-up like they stated on the phone (not that I cared at this point) I WAITED AND PAID FOR FOOD I NEVER GOT! PLUS WAS TREATED POORLY FOR NO REASON. read more

There seems to be a serious malfunction with the drive-in/parking! People are literally parking across the street to walk in because the drive thru line is the same line to get into the parking lot. First time here after having my Texan friends hype how awesome it is - managed to get here before breakfast and order the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and Biscuits & Gravy. DELISH! When you have friends tell you how good a place is, there are expectations and so glad that this location weighs up to the Texas staple. The crew was friendly, quick, and efficient! It's a shame that so many unappreciative folks gave such a low rating for 1) talking down the hype or 2) understaff service. Shiet happens! This place is amazing! read more

Went there solely for the Dr. Pepper shake and the machine was broken. Normally it would've not been a big deal but the cashier didn't tell us and rung us up like normal without telling us we wouldn't get our shakes. Food is pretty average, on par with sonic. Huge Whataburger fan. Driving down thru KC from Iowa on way to beach. Detoured for quick breakfast and burned 45 minutes waiting for 4 meals. Not particularly busy in drive thru or inside. Drive thru had 2-3 cars in a line that wasn't moving and so we went inside and were only ones in there and it took several minutes to get any help, even though employees were back and forth from counter to kitchen several times. We waited patiently. The group of 4 men behind us waited patiently. The older couple who came in a bit after us waited patiently. Still nobody's food came out in less than 30 minutes. We ate quickly and left and the men got their food and left... I think they were trying to get to the job site based on their clothing. Also oddly, we never heard sounds or smells of cooking, but the food was fresh and the order was right. I have worked food service and I volunteer with my town's HS booster club to work football game concessions. I know good service. This was marginal at best. read more

I am so glad that Whataburger has finally found its way North! I used to eat at one in Austin Tx 3 times a week. There is nothing better than biting into a fresh made burger with crisp veggies on it, and that is what a Whataburger is. With all this in mind I went to the new location on 40 Hwy, sure it was busy with everyone wanting to try it I didn't have to wait too long at all. The wait was so worth it! Maybe instead of rushing so much to get the stores open, you should train your employees on the proper way to take an order, make an order, and interact with a customer. I ordered my food, it comes to my table 15 minutes later made incorrectly. They did not bring me my shake along with my meal. The person who was supposed to bring my shake back to the table never showed back up with it. The manager who took the wrong meal from me, and promised to make it right, disappeared and never showed up with my meal. I had to go back up to the counter and at this point it's been 30 minutes. The slowest service I have ever seen. They have absolutely no clue what they are doing and cannot manage fast food service at all.

This is the third time we've attempted to get food from this location. I wish I could say the food was good but you would have to be able to get your food to do so. The customer service was as low as it could be rated to still be considered providing customers any type of service. When I think of whataburger I get excited for a minute or two when I remember how good the food could be, since I had it in Texas. I then remember this is the closest location to me and knowing the odds realize it's a smarter choice to go to the closest liquor store and buy off brand chips. At least they'll have some kind of customer service and you won't wonder if you'll ever get your food. read more

What-a-disappointment. After a 42 minute wait in the Drive-Thru with only six cars ahead of me, I was expecting an outstanding hamburger. I was one of the worst hamburgers I've ever eaten. The Patty was dry and overdone. The bond was dry and tasted like it was kind of stale. The french fries were absolutely indescript. They were not a particularly hot, they were dry, had no texture. I was 5th or 6th car entering at 1:01 pm. This place has reduced their lines from two to one. But I still considered it a short line. 1:45 pm I was picking up my simple order of 2 burgers, a frie, and a drink. Food was nothing to write home about. Fries close to McDonald's in taste and texture but NOT hot. Hamburger close to a Sonic burger, although Sonic's is more substantial. After a 45 minute wait, I will not be returning. I was happy to receive a gift card for $30 for my birthday and have eaten here the last 5 days. There was a 15-30 minute wait every day. Today I got a new girl at the window. She was sweet, but I had to wait at the drive thru menu board for over 10 minutes. Repeated my order 5 times when she finally took my order. Got up to the pay window, waited awhile.. girl came and asked Again. I told her, gave her my gift card that had $2.35 left and my Visa for the rest. She said " There's no way to do that." I said, "Yes, there has to be", she says, "No, there's not." I said "Please ask someone" after a minute or more of this. She got a lady to help who then called for the manager. He got it done but had to pull up to wait for my food..this all took 25 minutes for one sandwich!
