However, as soon as I got to the window, a bubbly JaDore greeted me with a great smile and a sincere apology for the wait. He even provided two coupons for the inconvenience, which I really appreciated. The food was delicious too! This might be the worst Whataburger and the franchisee should lose their franchise. I ordered curbside pickup on the app and arrived at the designated time. Pulled into the curbside space and let the store know which spot I was in via the app. After almost 20 mins of waiting I went inside and inquired where my order was and what was taking so long. I went to Whataburger recently, and while the food was good, the overall experience was honestly frustrating. The location in Pelham always seems to be short staffed, and you can literally see it too. I chose to dine in, and to be honest the place was clean and organized, but it took forever just for someone to come take my order. There were only a few workers trying to do everything at once, so the line barely moved. After I finally ordered, the wait was somehow longer. For a fast food restaurant, the amount of time it took to get my food was so frustrating that I just wanted to leave. I don't blame the workers because they clearly seemed overwhelmed, but it definitely affects the experience. However I will say when the food finally came out, it was hot and fresh, plus tasted good. Fix your second drive through lane! I waited in the second drive through lane for 10 min before I was able to back up and go through the first. Our order was completely messed up. I ordered 3 cinnamon rolls and 3 onion rings and 3 dipping sauces and got NONE of them. Even after I ordered, I waited a very long time for the food. We waited in line for nearly 45 minutes to an hour for food. Something I would judge someone else for doing. The cashier assured us before we left without us even asking that it was fresh. This Whataburger location is very nice and clean. I ordered a Whataburger here the other day and customized it to my liking on the app substituting Texas Toast for the bun, taking off diced onions and putting grilled ones on and adding extra lettuce and tomatoes. I don't know why this place has horrible reviews, I came at 11am on the dot thinking they were still serving breakfast since the tv advertised breakfast all day 11am-11pm but they said they had already either thrown out the breakfast or stopped it which is understandable it was dead, I'm from New York City so I let them know it was my first time and I was excited to try a couple of things from the menu since we don't have these in nyc lol so I got the patty melt which I saw a lot of reviews about on Google and Yelp and then the limited time wata wings in the sauce sweet spicy which is just a rendition of Popeyes sweet heat sauce on wings or a sweet and chili sauce. I also got French fries and onion rings plus a medium drink. Everything came out to $21 talk about eating good for the low price. Everything came out hot the only complaint I have is the wings could have been fully saturated in sauce they were half sauced and half naked. I tried a couple of sauces and my favorite was the creamy pepper, my patty melt was hot with every bite I took and really good a little on the salty side since I have cut back on fast food but also I think the toast is buttered. Talk about southern hospitality the cashier let me try a sample of the new caramel latte shake. Really yummy but super sweet and this is coming from a person with a big sweet tooth lol. Obviously this new location has growing pains. When we arrived at 11:15 PM they were operating two full lines but no one was standing outside in our line (the secondary line) so the car in front of us waited for about three to five minutes until someone showed and took their order. Much like at Chick-fil-A, we were not allowed to order from the speaker. When our car rolled to the front and could view the menu, the employee was in a hurry to take our order in an effort to keep the line moving. We didn't know what we wanted so she ran to the other line to take their order then ran back. While well intentioned, this is obviously slower than just having the employees standing inside taking the orders from the speaker. I am guessing they did not have a floater employee and one of the two workers at the speakers had to take a bathroom break. After ordering we drove through the secondary line and waited for quite a while as one employee hustled back-and-forth from the restaurant to the secondary line looking for the correct car with each order. We received a totally incorrect order and had to wait for it to be fixed, but the employee could not have been nicer. The drive thru was very busy and there looked to be only two employees inside handling both lines. In the 30 minutes that we waited for our order to be completed, it was obvious employees were feeling pressure to keep the line moving and get the food out. Kudos to them for doing the very best they could in the situation. I wish I could tell you the food was phenomenal and worth waiting half an hour for, but it was not. I ordered a breakfast taquito which I have ordered from the Pelham Whataburger multiple times and while there was nothing actually wrong with this one, it did not taste as good as any of the ones I've had previously. The french fries we ordered were dry and hard. One of our passengers ordered a milkshake and reported that it tasted fine. Another passenger ordered unsweet tea and remarked that the tea was so weak they couldn't distinguish if it was unsweet or sweet tea. Overall, not an impressive first visit to this new restaurant. The employees were the highlight of the visit and we felt sorry for them as they struggled to keep the line moving as fast as possible. Neither the food nor the wait time were impressive. Then again, Hoover doesn't offer a ton of options for late night fast food pick up so I doubt the slow lines and meh food will be a deterrent to business. To the owner, You could legitimately change the lives of your employees by encouraging better attitude towards their work. You employ tons of impressionable young people that are experiencing a work environment for the first time. You can help set them up for future success by encouraging positive attitude towards the quality of their work and surrounding themselves with competent managers and role models. Your job is more impactful on their lives than you think. Placed an online order. Went up to the counter when it was supposed to be ready. After my order of one milkshake was 5 minutes late, I mentioned my order to workers when I could, which was not often since they were rarely taking inside orders despite the line. At one point I asked if one of the cups I had seen sitting in the kitchen for a while was mine, to which one responded, "No, I don't even know what that is." Manager would look over at me and continue to do nothing. In this time, they lost the business of an entire, hungry, AAU basketball team. They wisely left for McDonalds. No one was in front of them in line when they left. After the milkshake was around 20 minutes late, I asked a worker that came out of the kitchen if an online order milkshake is on the way out. She did not respond to me or look at me, then she went over and grabbed the cup that I had asked about and had been sitting there as long as I was there, and handed it to me over her shoulder with her back facing me.
