Mom and I lovin the chicken and waffles from What the Waffle.
    Addie M.

Mom saw What the Waffle on TV and said we had to try it. I am so glad we did! The blueberry waffles were delicious, and the chicken wings were devine!!! Seriously the best chicken wings I've ever had. The mango habanero sauce was great, but the wings were so good I really didn't need the sauce. The food was so good and we ate it so fast, we didn't get a picture.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place…read more You literally can't go wrong. I could probably make a meal off of just their appetizers. I've literally never had fried mushrooms at a restaurant that were Portabella. These are to die for but the star of the appetizer menu to me are the fried pickled okra. they are coated in a perfect , cornmeal batter and served with homemade ranch dressing. Now onto the main courses. The burgers are all phenomenal. I have tried three or four of them no matter which one you get, order it Bob's way, which comes with fried onion strings. I usually can't finish a whole burger, but here I make myself finish the burger. No morsel is wasted. I recently tried one of their hotdogs, and I can say it won't be my last. Last but not least, their sides with the burgers cannot be beat. I know it sounds weird to say, but I am not much of a french fry person. Here I want to eat all of them. Their onion rings are equally delicious and their sweet potato chips are unlike anything I've ever gotten of the sweet potato family. Everything is perfectly fried and everything goes good with their homemade ranch. Our girl Wimpy works here and provides the best service to everyone who enters some of us even get a hug when we leave

It's a small dive bar with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a good variety of beers on tap and bottles, I think. I only had the ones on tap. The food is great. We had the fried okra (whole pieces) and onion rings, which are delish. Not salty and the batter does not fall off, which is a plus. We also ordered the patty melt, bahn mi burger and boneless wings. We enjoyed them all. Good portions and flavorful. This is our go to in Lockhart when not in a BBQ state of mind.

Their menu is average sized with apps, a senior menu, kids menu, salads, burgers/sandwiches, pastas, entrees and desserts. They also have a happy hour menu with specials ranging from $1 - $9. They even have cocktails with Power Plant themed names. I was in the mood for steak and unfortunately this town seems to be void of steaks for some reason; however, the Power Plant offers one on their menu. I chose a steak with green beans and mashed potatoes. They indicated the steak of the day was a ribeye, but I've never seen a ribeye shaped like this before, it was long and skinny like a skirt steak, or a strip. Ribeye - tender for the most part and tasty. Almost tasted like a flat iron steak, but somehow this was actually a ribeye despite its unusual shape. Long piece of gristle across one entire side and fat cap at the end. This 12oz steak was more like 9 oz after removing all of that. Green beans - basic canned beans with several bacon chunks Mashed potatoes- chunky with brown gravy. The bread that comes with this is basically 2 ends of a griddled hot dog bun. Service was ok as the waitress came around a couple of times to check on me. She forgot to ask me how I wanted the steak cooked, and also came back to tell me she originally gave me the wrong price for it. It ended up being around $25, as opposed to $22 as she originally indicated. I also added a homemade brownie with ice cream to go. This was a pretty average brownie dessert.
