Come here to try their delicious food. I'm glad I did. 1) Ambience is good. Place seems a bit crowded. Not many tables but that's okay. 2) Place is welcoming and staff is attentive. 3) Food is delicious. I have come here more than once and will come again. 4) No alcohol is served. Only smoothies and soft drinks. 5) DO NOT order your appetizers and main course at the same. They will all come in reverse order or all at once. I do not like that. Order your appetizers first. Eat them. Then order your main course after. I recommend you do as well. Cheers!

I just ordered pho and pork rolls to go. When I got back to my hotel, 7 minutes away, I opened my bag and the broth was cool. All of the meats are raw or chilled and get heated by the HOT broth. I am bummed it's not worth my time to go back and deal with it. The raw steak is still bright pink. Tendon was way too big. Needed to be cut down. After adding all the items to soup it's cold now. They had to know the broth was no where near hot enough. I'm not eating it. The rolls were good.

Thai Tea

I'm originally from California and I was craving for Pho. I recently tried What Da Pho here in San Angelo, TX and while there are some good points, the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. "What Da Pho" offers a decent meal, though it's not perfect. The pho broth doesn't have flavor and also wasn't hot enough, which kind of took away from the experience. The spring rolls are flavorful with a great dipping sauce. The Thai tea was okay but it hit the spot, Ig. The staff was friendly and quick, making the service good. The place is cute and nice.

Unedible cartilage/bone

Wanted to try a pho place and I happened to see this place while running errands. The service was quick and my pho came out pretty quickly as well. The Pho itself was not bad at all, but not incredibly delicious either. The amount of meat was good, but unfortunately they didn't have legit sate spice. The Banh Mi was awful in that the grilled chicken was completely burnt on the outside, I could hardly taste the chicken. It's also extremely small for its price and I bit into an unedible bone/cartilage that made it even more uncomfortable to eat. Overall, Pho was alright, but the banh mi was a very unfortunate occurrence. This didn't affect my rating, but one of the waitresses was not wearing appropriate attire.

Fantastic place. We loved the atmosphere, the waitress, and especially the food. The spicy lemongrass chicken was amazing. Not as spicy as you'd guess, but still had some decent heat on it. Not complaining though. It was really good. The curry chicken was absolutely de- lici- ious. The teriyaki chicken wasn't the best but still good. Egg rolls were on-point and the fried wontons were good. Great dipping sauce. Clean bathrooms. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Which is refreshing and rare.

Beef Pho, Spring Rolls (2)

Loved the pho and the spring rolls. The food came out pretty fast and I liked the fact that we can put our own chili paste for our own spicy preference. The staff member was very friendly and attentive! The ambiance was perfect definitely will be a returning customer.

8.95 beef pho regular

What Da Pho is a vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall near HEB. San Angelo doesn't have a lot of asian food, but What Da Pho does it well. I got the regular beef pho ($8.95). There are tons of options on the menu for the beef types. They have things like tripe too. The pho comes with bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime wedges. You can add however much you want depending on your taste. The broth is sweet, bright, and mildly citrusy with the lime they give you. The portions are very satisfying without being overwhelming. Inside the soup you get thin cut onions as well as green onions. I like the quality of the beef too and the amount that they give you. The only thing that could be improved might be to use thai basil - but of course that's very hard to get around here and would make the bowl much more expensive so it's fine. The hours are open later than most which is really convenient in san angelo. There is a discount for military or angelo state students.

I can't say enough about this place especially it being practically the only Vietnamese restaurant in San Angelo but I'll tell you what, it rivals pretty much anything I've experienced all around Houston and surrounding. It was so good I came to this place about 4 or 5 days in a row here. ________ First paragraph was a draft from two months ago now forward to current times all of my co-workers have eaten here and agree this is probably one of the best places they have eaten for Pho. How Lucky I Am to get stuck in a little town where the father Beats most anything I have eaten back home. Kudos to you for being so PHOking good!

The complex flavor of this broth is outstanding. It takes time to develop this flavor and they've succeeded in creating an authentic Vietnamese experience. We've been twice and will definitely be back soon.

It used to be really good but recently fell off. It's a lot dryer now and has much less flavor.

Good food and service. Pick up takeout in the back. Don't stand in the front at the podium waiting for service like I did.

Love the pho here! Chicken and fried rice plate was also very good. Friendly staff, quick service, and prices are reasonable.

We were greeted and seated within a minute of walking in at 5pm. I'm not that familiar with this type of dining so I'm not knocking the restaurant for me not liking my dinner, it's just not my thing I guess. I'm giving 4 stars because they did not have Thai Iced Tea on hand for this evenings dinner guest, apparently the lady who makes it wasn't in today. My opinion, a Thai restaurant not having Thai Iced Tea is like a Mexican restaurant not having margaritas, a bit disappointing. We were the first dinner guest in the restaurant and our dinners were a bit of a wait (longer than usual) from order to service and that was ok as it gave us time to visit. Our drinks and appetizers were served fairly quick. Our waitress was very friendly and tried to help me decide on dinner by explaining a few options. The place was clean and inviting with ample seating and filled up quickly within the hour. I'm only picturing my dinner and I can't remember what it was. It had a strong after taste so I tried each individual piece to pinpoint what had that flavor. One of our friends said perhaps it's lemon grass but whatever it was caused me not to finish my dinner.

So I came here for some ramen....tonkatsu ramen in particular…read more The server is friendly and I got to witness the chef hand pulling the noodles. So I order my tonkatsu ramen. I got my bowl and the broth looked a little bit like it was weak and not concentrated enough...I figured maybe it's a little bit weaker flavor. I dip my little ladle spoon and take a sip....that looked like weak tonkatsu, but the flavor was something other than tonkatsu. I don't know what it was. The noodles were cooked appropriately, but the ajitama was not seasoned and it was not soft boiled, it was hard boiled. Okay, try out the meat. The meat was a little bit on the tough side and it did not have the flavor of chashu pork. I have had tonkatsu ramen at many different places through California. Even Missouri has a stellar tonkatsu ramen shop. Unfortunately this place does not leave me satisfied. I am afraid I can not give it a 3 star rating due to the fact that tonkatsu is unrecognizable as tonkatsu in relation to flavor. Was the flavor good? Not really. My recommendation would be to remove tonkatsu as an option on the menu altogether because although it looks like tonkatsu, it does not have anything in it that tastes like a tonkatsu ramen. The 2 stars is for decent noodles and I didn't get sick off the food.
