A great coffee shop and breakfast option!…read more The restaurant is big for a coffee shop. With free wifi, lots of people like to work or meet here. The staff are friendly and helpful. In warmer weather, they open the large windows, and it's quite a nice atmosphere. Came for coffee, but was blown away by their breakfast plates. They have a small selection of beautiful pastries on display too. Their Omelette plates are made with fresh ingredients, well-seasoned home fries, and fresh bagels.

When dining in, you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food to the table. Breakfast items are available until 4 p.m., and after that they serve salads, bowls, and sandwiches. On my first visit, I had a hot chai latte with espresso and it was absolutely delicious. The second time, I tried the iced pumpkin spice latte and didn't love it. The pumpkin spice syrup is homemade, which is nice, but the flavor fell a little flat and the large glass was mostly milk, which overpowered the drink. For food, I've tried the egg sandwich simple but good. The spinach feta croissant was heavy on the spinach, light on the cheese, and even though I asked for it warmed up, it was still cold in the middle. Their bowls are very fresh, but I found them a little under-seasoned and could've used more dressing or a sprinkle of seasoning to tie everything together. Overall, it's a cozy spot with an inviting vibe (I love their "stay awhile" sign on the wall). I think it really depends on what you order and your personal taste. For some, the fresh and lighter options might be perfect. For me, a little more flavor and balance would make it great.

I recently ate my entire stash of bagels from both trips. The good news is that Kettleman's is coming to Etobicoke this fall. I still needed bagels, though. I headed to my local grocery store recently to get some. They weren't and aren't the same. On Saturday, I visited St. Urbain bakery and cafe, which makes a variety of Montreal-style bagels. I was in heaven looking at roughly a dozen different bagel flavours at the back of the store. A older woman asked what I'd like. She didn't come across as being warm. I asked for six sesame and six cheddar bagels. She said that it was $0.25 more for each cheddar bagel. I was good with that, although she didn't wait for me to acknowledge that I was good with it. I got all bagels in a paper bag. Yay! I thanked her. I was so happy. I felt like I had won the lottery, except that I had to pay for my goods. This bakery offers cakes, cookies, flatbreads, and more. I decided to simply get my bagels before I cleaned my entire chequing account out at this store. The woman at the counter was much more personable. She put my goodies in a plastic bag and threw in a couple of bagel bags. I used my debit card to pay. Credit cards aren't accepted. You can pay with cash, too. I have had both bagel varieties since my visit. They are soft and chewy where they should be. The cheddar is brilliant and yummy. I've never had a cheddar one before until now. It's worth shelling out a bit to have one. There is something about crispy, oven-melted cheddar that tastes delicious. I made myself an egg salad sandwich today. Some like celery in it. I do, but changed it up with green onion. It's so good with the sesame bagel. This bakery is in a plaza with parking all around it. There's a huge Starbucks cafe a couple of doors down, so it does get busy. I parked on the opposite side of where this bakery is and walked over. I'm glad that I can get my fix without doing a huge road trip out east. I am thrilled that I have found this bagel place. I am a happy Montreal-style bagel fan. (374)

I normally get the Rosemary bagel but this time I went with a classic everything bagel. The cream cheese is delicious on it's own, but throw in fresh smoked salmon, red onion and dill - it's unreal! Looking back on my photos, it doesn't seem like there is much filling inside. I can assure you the cream cheese: other ingredient ratio is equal and even! I am always full and satisfied after eating their bagels. Definitely comparable to Montreal style.

Personally I'd recommend the cinnamon sugar for sweet lovers and rosemary sea salt for those wanting savoury. Their cream cheese options are also great. So far we've tried the roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomato, herbs and garlic, maple, and blueberry. All have been good and paired well with the different bagel flavours. My second delivery order I added a breakfast sandwich and it was good. Nothing too out of the box or outstanding about it but like everything else here, it's good. One thing I will say is I ordered my second order for delivery at around 11 am on a Wednesday. At that point, they'd already sold out of coconut bagels and poppy seed bagels. It was a bit disappointing but they did make a point to call to determine how I wanted to replace those and then sent a card for 10% off my next purchase in-store.
