They have a great selection, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there's something really special about being able to shop at a local mom-and-pop store like this. It's the kind of toy store the neighborhood is lucky to have!

I went back to the store less than 30 minutes later to exchange it, but the owner refused because the box had been opened. There was no sign or notice anywhere saying they don't accept returns on opened items, so I felt completely blindsided. The toy wasn't damaged or played with, and it could have easily been resealed. Instead of working with me, they were inflexible and dismissive. This is not how you treat customers, especially parents buying toys for kids. Very disappointing experience.

The staff is always friendly and helpful.

My issue was with the person in the desk, i got a lunchbox and a bottle, beautiful and definitely love them, it was close to 100 dollars, again i love them and dont mind paying higher for a good product, so i ask to wrap it, as they normally do in these type of stores, and she got a scrap piece ( i dont mind that, but this one was all wrinkled, i thought like ok, children will not notice, in the middle of wrapping she was doing a really bad job and having difficulties to do it so i try to help her and she scream at me "i can do it, its all good" really frustrated for what i did, well im really frustrated for what she was doing and didnt scream at her at the end i let her finish but i was 2 secs away of requesting back my money, though i really like them, i did tell her its not a great job (i will add the pics took 5 mins later) and she made me a face of fu*k off. Im welcome to not comeback again, thats why next door store has more clients, i guess i should stick to my regular store, this happened may 11th around 5:15 pm, i hope it arrive to the right person to be able to train better your personnel

Their section with strollers is helpful to compare and test different strollers and car seats, which is great to get a first hand experience of any stroller research done online. A kind gentleman named Dave was there during my visit and he patiently answered all my questions. (Thanks Dave!). Having found the stroller I needed for the baby, I found some cool adorable art books I never knew existed. It's nice to come here for baby basics and then leave with new ideas.

This is a small shop but full of lots of great baby and kid finds…read more The husband and I made it a point to stop by Smoochie Baby while we were exploring Williamsburg during our babymoon, based on its great reviews. The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop.

While my area of Park Slope is rich with such spots, I still sometimes find myself venturing a bit out of my way specifically to Exit 9. It's fun and quirky collection runs the gamut--both from fun/silly to thoughtful and lovely--and perhaps more importantly, for all ages and types. They have a particularly low key good selection of clever and thoughtful kids' gifts in addition to wonderful options for the mature (or immature) adult in your life. I particularly like their card selection. In addition, if you are reading this on here, know that they frequently offer a generous Yelp check in reward!

I suppose I should be able to name a painter if I want to become one, but whatever. In any case, I took out this handy dandy little Yelp app on my phone, and it told me that I could buy me some art supplies over here. And it was right! I came in looking for paint, paint brushes, canvas and a few other items. The woman behind the counter might as well have been a mannequin for all the help she offered, but in my limited art supply experience, it seemed fairly well-stocked with several options for everything. I also don't have much to compare the prices to, but judging by some of their exorbitant prices on regular stationery items, there are probably better deals to be had elsewhere (feel free to tell me where, just in case I actually stick with this painting thing). In any case, the total came out a bit higher than I would've liked to spend, but you can't put a price tag on art. That's a saying, right? __________ *By this I mean my girlfriend has, and I'm along for the ride.

Some of it is pricey, but everything is very well-made and there are certainly items in all price ranges. Most of all, this store is accommodating to babies. When we got there, they let me try it on the new size WITH a carrier and dummy doll to make sure it fit how I wanted it to. It was so nice not having to take my son out of his stroller! The store is clearly made with mothers and children in mind. The shop itself is also just filled with the most wonderful baby and maternity products. A great place for gifts and necessities.
