Located in "The Office" - a new food truck pod at Silver Moon Brewing - Whappos offers Caribbean food (Your other choices at the pod presently are The Bob, Rush's Squares (pizza), a chicken truck and something called the Huntsman). - Solid menu, although lacking in vegetarian options. - Jerk chicken wrap: large, tasty with a bit of heat. - Fries are sweet plantains and are delicious. Cooked only until golden. No crispy fries here. - Prices are a bit high but if you consider the amount of food, it's reasonable. Silver Moon and The Office have instituted an online ordering system for both food and drinks, including Whappos. I didn't try it but maybe its the way of the future with food pods. My experience is that these systems don't seem to keep up with menu changes. You still can walk up to the trucks and order. read more

We visited Bend recently and came across the Whappos food truck. We decided to order the jerk bowl and the mahi bowl. Both dishes were great. We especially loved the jerk chicken and ordered the coconut rice with jalapeños and black beans to go with it. The Mahi was very fresh and we loved the pineapple and mangoes on top. Yes! Well done Whappos! We frequently look for places to eat and drink while our daughter is in ballet class down the street. We often go to Silver Moon because it is so close, but have been slightly disappointed in their food options recently. Needless to say we were very excited about the new food pod popping up there! All of the NEW food trucks look delicious, and Whappos offered some intriguing dishes. While I am no expert connoisseur on Caribbean fare, there seemed to be a variety of spices and flavors available. My husband and I were looking for a lower carb meal, and even though many of the items on their menu come with rice and beans, we were able to work around it. We ordered the coconut curry chicken bowl, and subbed the rice and beans for sautéed veggies instead. It was SO good! Chicken perfectly chopped, seasoned and cooked, with sour cream, extra curry in a container on the side! The veggies (zucchini and yellow squash) were cooked just right with a little bit of crunch left, and they topped it with cilantro and fresh chopped jalapeño. Very tasty flavor combination. We also got the coconut shrimp... and OH MY GOD. I would get this a million times over. Definitely not low carb since the perfectly tender shrimp are battered, dipped in coconut, and then fried, but... if you like coconut and you like shrimp, do not hesitate for a second to try these! It came with some kind of avocado dipping sauce on the side which was also good. We again had the zucchini and yellow squash with it. Not disappointed. Not one bit. Have been wanting to try this food truck for a while but hadn't managed to get there during the hours they are open until today. Everything on the menu sounded great. I ended up ordering the Coconut Shrimp Bowl with a side of the Tostones. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. The bowl was okay, the shrimp were good (although it seemed like they could have been Costco frozen Coconut Shrimp), but the beans and rice were "meh". Considering that beans and rice are cheap ingredients, the $18 price tag on this bowl was high, in my opinion. The Tostones were interesting and fun to try but probably would not get them again ($7 for an order). I would like to go back to give it another try....maybe other items on the menu might be better? read more

Excellent Caribbean food! Honestly had no idea I'd find some while visiting Bend. The mojo pork bowl was very generous and filling. If anything, definitely come by and try the tostones with the garlic sauce! They were the definite highlight. read more

Went to Silvermoon brewing over the weekend. Ordered the toastones . Ordered via the mobile ordering. Got a text saying "my order had been excepted" 45 mins later, nothing it took my going up to them to check on my order to only say yeah it's ready. Total time from ordering to when I got the "your order is ready" 50 mins. Got the curry chicken , way to salty. First time ordering from them , not sure if I'd be back. read more
