We love mall pretzels. Since I was at the Brea Mall for an errand, I decided to redeem a promo code at this location. Every time I pass by this kiosk, the display is full, but one can also tell that the pretzels have been out of the oven for awhile, "cooking" under the heat lights so they are not as soft and fresh as other locations, i.e. Ontario Mills kiosk in the foot court. Since the employee was busy filling bags of Wetzel Bitz, their back was towards the register. I waited for a bit before saying "hi" to not throw them off of "scare" them. Wetzel's Original (w/ butter, no salt) Sinful Cinnamon I was able to redeem my promo through the app easily. Overall, my experience was as expected but nothing above and beyond. read more

I had a very unpleasant and humiliating experience at Wetzel's Pretzels in Brea Mall on November 1, 2025, around 5:24 PM. I went there with my two sons. I'm not fluent in English, but I can communicate basic things clearly. When I ordered a Mango Fresh Boba Lemonade, the cashier kept asking me what I wanted -- more than five times -- even though I clearly said the same thing each time. It honestly felt like she was pretending not to understand me. Then she entered the wrong item, and when I corrected her, she asked again without any clear explanation. She never mentioned that the Mango Fresh Boba Lemonade only comes in one size, which caused even more confusion. The worst part came afterward. While I was using Google Translate to explain to the manager, I noticed two employees (a woman and a man) laughing and mocking me as I typed. That was extremely humiliating, especially in front of my children. I left the store feeling disrespected and discriminated against because of my race and my limited English. No customer should ever be treated this way. I hope Wetzel's Pretzels takes this seriously and provides proper training to their staff, so that no one else has to experience such disrespect again. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. Waited in line for pretzel and was luckily able to watch the staff roll the dough. We were there at roughly 530. We witnessed the employee stop rolling the dough to grab some water, open her cup, fill it with ice, drink from her cup again and then go back to rolling dough. Not once did she change her gloves. I was speaking loudly enough that the 2 employees at the window were able to hear me. The employees just continued to roll the dough with all of her cross contamination. We left as soon as we noticed she wasn't changing her gloves. I understand it doesn't take much knowledge to roll dough but at least understand how you are cross contaminating. read more

Stopped at the Brea Mall to look around and stopped at Wetzel's Pretzels for a quick snack. I picked a seat that was close to Wetzel's and started to munch on the bites. Wow, the pretzels bites were fresh and delicious. I was mildly surprised at how good they were since I really don't expect much from pretzel bites. Now, one might not think about the effort that goes into making pretzel food but I couldn't help but notice one of the Wetzel's employees making up a big heavy, bunch of pretzel dough and making pretzel wrapped mini wieners from that dough. She was amazing to watch. She was efficient, quick, and focused on the task at hand. She wore glasses,a visor, and a name tag on the visor. My nephew went ahead and order pretzel bitz for me and it was the worst $7.99 I ever paid , not only were the bitz rock solid I wasn't asked if I wanted butter or salt , I then return my bits for them not to make fresh new ones just grabbed the next bag in the heated container and still dry hard pretzels. To start off, this is in the brea mall. I ordered the cheesy dog bites and they came with no cheese so i asked for some cheese and they wouldn't give me any. Came here on 12/9 & the employee struggled to put in a simple order of a lemonade, cheese sauce and pretzel nuggets. The total was about $15 and they had three workers but it took awhile to process. Super overpriced with very bad service. Once we walked away we noticed no sauce in the bag that we were charged for and had to go back, the "line" was a huge unorganized crowd. The pretzels were drenched in salt and the sauce was barely filled 1/3 of the way. 1/4/24 - The Wetzel's is located inside the mall at a stand. We ordered the Pizza Bitz and Cinna Bitz. We took the food back to the car and started eating where we unfortunately discovered that there was a hair lodged between the pizza bitz deep in the cup. I took it back to the stand where I waited in line. I spoke to their cashier and he discussed it with his superior after inspecting the food himself. Eventually, they told me that new pizza bitz were being cooked at the moment, so they offered either a full refund or asked if I was willing to wait 12 minutes for the bitz to be finished. I decided to wait the 12 minutes and he said that I could just stand off to the side and he would hand the new pizza bitz over to me when they were done. The whole process was handled really smoothly and professionally which I appreciated. I received the new pizza bitz fresh out of the oven and hair-free. I would rate this place 1-star based off food quality, but I'm giving 2-stars due to how responsive and helpful they were to resolve this issue. read more

Ah, the old mall pretzel. Now, normally I'm a big fan of Wetzel's... but I was at the Brea Mall with my daughter today and she wanted a snack. We decided to get Original Wetzel Bits... and after standing at the register and not being acknowledged by two different employees... I made the, "I'm a customer here and need assistance" sound... a louder than needed throat-clearing cough. "AHEM!!" My daughter asked me if I was okay. I decided I would teach her of the subtleties of attention-getting practices at a later date. Then, no words from the male employee who'd had his back to me... doing something at the oven. He walked up. Nodded. And I ordered Wetzel Bits. "Um... we're out." No other words at all from this worker. He seemed disconnected from reality. It was like he'd once known the kind of person he wanted to become but, since putting on that apron, he'd lost all sense of purpose. I told him I'd have an Original Pretzel then... I should have watched him pick up a pretzel... but I was distracted by my excited toddler. And I got my wallet out. I paid. He ran my card... then turned back to the oven. No other words... then he came back and put a bag in front of me... which had my pretzel in it. He handed back my card and the receipt. Then he said, "Thank you." There was, indeed, a shred of humanity left in this tortured soul. Hey - I got a little bit more communication out of him! He looked as though his zest for life was slowly being drained by that oven. I think he got paler in the five minutes I stood at that counter. I hope he's still conscious. He may never have left that counter. He might have dissipated into the pretzely air. As the previous reviews, this location is one you should avoid at all costs. The girl gave me the last pizza pretzel, it was obviously burnt and the last one. This review is for the Wetzel's pretzels stand in the middle of the mall. On 11/26/22 my family and I purchased a meal and I read on the menu that states "if you don't get a receipt, ask to speak to a manager and your order is free". So i didn't get a receipt and I told them about it, all the employees were upset. Especially the guy making the pretzels. He was a Hispanic overweight gentleman. He stated in Spanish "let's give everyone they're receipt now otherwise they'll want free food" and started laughing and shaking his head. By the way, he said it in Spanish not knowing I speak Spanish. Very rude employee. This place needs to read and learn the menu AND teach employees to customer service. read more

I frequent the Brea Mall often, as this near my home. Today, I had to go to the optometrist there. After that, I decided to grab something simple as I haven't had food to eat this morning. As I went around the food court, wetzel dog caught my eye. I then went and bought it. I found a place where I wanna eat it, and sat down and started eating. The first bite was disgusting and doughy. I've had other wetzel dog and it was never doughy. I went back and showed the lady working there. And she said that's how they cook it. They had the heat so high that it will cook it fast and get outside cook and the inside is raw dough still. She asked if I want it exchanged and get something else. And I said if I get the same item, and it will also be raw. She said she can refund it. Just like one of the customer had mention the downtown Disney location was better and it's true. I've experience that location at downtown Disney and never had raw dough experience. I arrived 40 minutes before closing, and requested an order for a jalapeño/pepperoni pretzel and the employees refused to make it claiming they were not making them anymore. However just as they said that I witnessed the employees making one in the process and asked why they were making that one but not mine and they said it was "for an order", sadly they denied me but made one for another customer. It was a humiliating experience and I hope the company as a whole does not discriminate. I asked for their names and they refused to give me them until I threaten to call corporate. If you're looking for the perfect place for a variety of flavors for soft pretzels, this is the location. And if you want something sweet, the cheerful workers are more than happy to assist you on the Cold Stone side (so you get a 2-in-1 experience). Even though pretzel dough is difficult in the sense that if you leave it in just 5 seconds too long it gets extra crispy, these employees always make it a priority to make and serve quality food.
