Most likely should have asked the specific pricing before dropping off my truck. Just felt it was absurdly expensive to be charged $79 for and oil change???!!! On one side of the statement states 5cts of synthetic oil and the other side of the page I'm being charged for 7 x $8 per ct. My son came from out of state to move back home. Had trouble with the DMV in Wethersfield and had to leave his vehicle overnight. The order was great and didnt try to bleed you for money. One of the employees swore at us. I can not believe how we were treated. We went there for emissions And We went to ask someone for help. My boyfriend was with me. He asked and the man pointed to a sign which was blocked by a white utility van infront of us He said read the f***ing sign He says what does the sign say? What's does the sign say? Like wanting him to read it out loud. He was very rude. He shouldn't be talking to customers like that. I will never ever go back. read more

I went here for emissions testing without an appointment. It took a while, but the mechanic was genuinely apologetic about that. He was very friendly and professional. I will definitely consider taking my car here next time I need it serviced. It does cost 20.00 cash, but as far as I can tell from the DMV website, ALL the emissions sites are cash-only. read more

I've never had car work done there but James the guy who does Emissions is one of my favorite people. He is so nice, funny and just makes your day. You always leave with a smile on your face and he remembers you even after 2 years in between visits. I will always go see him as long as he's there. Would probably be more like 2.5 stars...but I am not in a very 'rounding up' kind of mood right now... I would still say they are trustworthy on diagnosing your car's problems, providing options and prices...Definitely not trying to get one over on you in terms of price or unneeded service. But we're probably going to try another mechanic on friend's recommendation after this last go around. As I've previously written, they sometimes don't get it right the first try and has been more so in recent experiences. And service is...lacking. Sean (head guy) is a great guy...very friendly and polite. But when I bring my car in for a relatively minor issue and it takes 3 days to fix (after it was originally estimated to take 1/2 day) and I have to constantly follow-up and they jack the price for some additional work that apparently necessitated keeping it for an additional day...well it all adds up to a bad experience all around. If they were more proactive in calling and explaining the situation and helping me understand what caused me to pay an additional $100, I may be more forgiving...But this issue coupled with all of the other smaller misses means we need to look elsewhere. read more

They saved me!! During a recent snowstorm, I made the idiotic idea to drive from Middletown to Ellington. By the time I got to Rocky Hill, I realized that my wipers were no good... they were icing up, and I had to pull over on 91 to dangerously clear them off! I ended up getting off onto the Silas Deane... drove practically blind. I saw Wethersfield Automotive, which was clearly closed. I pulled in anyway, in a desperate attempt to clear my wipers. I had a hard time finding anyone that still does emissions checks, but another garage recommended Wethersfield Auto. I was able to do it on a Saturday morning, so it was a little crowded ... but the shop is next door to a Dunkin' Donuts! I sat in my car and, drank coffee and read a book until a really nice man named James took my car. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional, and the whole inspection took about 10 minutes. The wait was only because so many people decided to get this done on a Saturday morning. I'll definitely go back next year so James can do my emissions check! read more
