Rude and bossy. Takes advantage of the fact that you have to wait on line. He must need to feel important. After waiting over an hour in the heat for my turn, this attendant started screaming. What a clown! I'd go somewhere else. read more

Won't go anywhere else for my emissions. If you aren't in good mood when you get there, you will definitely be smiling when you leave. James is such a pleasure to speak to Fast, efficient and the most positive attitude! read more

The gentleman who does the emissions test, James, is amazing! He is not only efficient at his job (very thorough and quick!) but he shares his kindness, humor and spirit, which makes going for the chore of emissions testing an absolute bright spot in the day. My husband has also been there in the past and when I called to tell him what a nice experience the test was he said "Oh yeah.... James has been there for years. He's always like that!". Best ever! read more

Most likely should have asked the specific pricing before dropping off my truck. Just felt it was absurdly expensive to be charged $79 for and oil change???!!! On one side of the statement states 5cts of synthetic oil and the other side of the page I'm being charged for 7 x $8 per ct. There is also a shop supplies charge for another $14 total charge $95 for an Oil change.....beware read more

Wethersfield Automotive - Auto Repair Near Me - Wethersfield, Connecticut

Someone commented that my statement about cash being mandated by the state was incorrect. As of this posting, and I quote from the site below: "All test centers accept cash as a form of payment, some may accept checks or credit cards but are not required do so; please call the test center to confirm." https://ctemissions.com/frequently-asked-questions/how-much-does-the-test-cost This shows that it is, contrary to what they said at this emissions testing location, legal for them to accept credit cards. They simply do not want to accept credit cards. Claiming it is illegal or state mandated to accept only cash is a straight up lie. read more

I had a great experience at Wethersfield Automotive. Had to have emissions done, and James was very polite. I barely had to wait at all. Highly recommended! read more

I've been going for several years to get my emissions tested on my car - friendliest staff you could ever run into! Speedy service also

My son came from out of state to move back home. Had trouble with the DMV in Wethersfield and had to leave his vehicle overnight. The order was great and didnt try to bleed you for money. Very kind and considerate. And if you need to get your car tested, do yourself a big favor and go see James Morris the Certified Testing Inspector. He was a wonderful, delightful and over and above super person. You cant help but smile walking out of the establishment. Hats off to you all at Wethersfield Auto. read more

Love these guys...my Dad has known the owner for a long time. Great Quick place to do Emissions. Cash only. Fast friendly service.

One of the employees swore at us. I can not believe how we were treated. We went there for emissions And We went to ask someone for help. My boyfriend was with me. He asked and the man pointed to a sign which was blocked by a white utility van infront of us He said read the f***ing sign He says what does the sign say? What's does the sign say? Like wanting him to read it out loud. He was very rude. He shouldn't be talking to customers like that. I will never ever go back. read more

Great and fast service. I went for an emissions test and my timing worked out so I didn't have to wait at all. James has a great sense of humor and was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went here for emissions testing without an appointment. It took a while, but the mechanic was genuinely apologetic about that. He was very friendly and professional. I will definitely consider taking my car here next time I need it serviced. It does cost 20.00 cash, but as far as I can tell from the DMV website, ALL the emissions sites are cash-only. read more

I've never had car work done there but James the guy who does Emissions is one of my favorite people. He is so nice, funny and just makes your day. You always leave with a smile on your face and he remembers you even after 2 years in between visits. I will always go see him as long as he's there. No one enjoys doing this kind of thing but he makes it enjoyable. read more

Would probably be more like 2.5 stars...but I am not in a very 'rounding up' kind of mood right now... I would still say they are trustworthy on diagnosing your car's problems, providing options and prices...Definitely not trying to get one over on you in terms of price or unneeded service. But we're probably going to try another mechanic on friend's recommendation after this last go around. As I've previously written, they sometimes don't get it right the first try and has been more so in recent experiences. And service is...lacking. Sean (head guy) is a great guy...very friendly and polite. But when I bring my car in for a relatively minor issue and it takes 3 days to fix (after it was originally estimated to take 1/2 day) and I have to constantly follow-up and they jack the price for some additional work that apparently necessitated keeping it for an additional day...well it all adds up to a bad experience all around. If they were more proactive in calling and explaining the situation and helping me understand what caused me to pay an additional $100, I may be more forgiving...But this issue coupled with all of the other smaller misses means we need to look elsewhere. read more

They saved me!! During a recent snowstorm, I made the idiotic idea to drive from Middletown to Ellington. By the time I got to Rocky Hill, I realized that my wipers were no good... they were icing up, and I had to pull over on 91 to dangerously clear them off! I ended up getting off onto the Silas Deane... drove practically blind. I saw Wethersfield Automotive, which was clearly closed. I pulled in anyway, in a desperate attempt to clear my wipers. A gentleman plowing saw my predicament, and asked what I needed. Despite them being closed, my savior changed my wipers! read more

Super quick emissions testing! It's cash only so remember to bring cash with you. I paid $20 for emissions testing. The mechanics were friendly. It's located 3 minutes from the Wethersfield Department of Motor Vehicles, which is very convenient. Definitely recommend! read more

Waited 45 min for emissions, when i asked if its going to be to much longer because i had to go to work the owner RUDELY replied "its going to take as long as it takes just sit in your car and wait" and closed the door on me. NEVER AGAIN read more

I had a hard time finding anyone that still does emissions checks, but another garage recommended Wethersfield Auto. I was able to do it on a Saturday morning, so it was a little crowded ... but the shop is next door to a Dunkin' Donuts! I sat in my car and, drank coffee and read a book until a really nice man named James took my car. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional, and the whole inspection took about 10 minutes. The wait was only because so many people decided to get this done on a Saturday morning. I'll definitely go back next year so James can do my emissions check! read more

The technician was incredibly rude. At first I thought he was kidding so I was joking back with him but he just got progressively meaner. Definitely an awkward experience and I certainly won't be going back. read more

I went in today for my emissions testing. The inspector, James Morris, was both courteous and professional, and my test was done in less than twenty minutes. This was fantastic and friendly service! read more

Shawn is the best and they are so accommodating. Rare to find a place so trustworthy when people are so non-trusting of mechanics

Super-friendly! These guys went WAY out of their way to help me with a fix to my trailer when I had a problem. I can't say enough good things - they were fast, friendly and reasonably priced. (I was there on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 - for real!) Thanks again! read more
