In short, there…read morewere three main issues: 1) Workmanship: The final product (a newly poured concrete garage apron) looks very, very bad. There are dark blotchy looking stains and light/white spots that have become a permanent part of the final appearance. (See attached pictures) 2) Accountability of workmanship: After showing Dave pictures of discoloration, I not only didn't receive an explanation for what caused the discoloration, but I also didn't get acknowledgement that it shouldn't look that way. The only real response I received was that "We don't guarantee color". Does DEL Concrete not have pride in their work? 3) Customer Service: Regardless of the quality of workmanship, there appeared to be no desire by Dave to fix or rectify my dissatisfaction. Not only was my concern dismissed, but there was no offer of a solution. I tried to seek amicable resolution, but it didn't go anywhere. All communication (which was relegated to text message as my phone calls were not returned) was defensive and confrontational. In fact, I was even accused of being "trouble" and "too picky". As a customer who has a rightful complaint, who would want to be treated that way? When I hire contractors, I don't expect perfection. I recognize that this type of work heavily relies on people and can therefore be a little variable. It's great when things go well, but mistakes can happen. Sometimes you can get less than desirable outcomes. It is during those bad moments where I believe a company's true integrity shines through - you separate the companies who really care about their customers and those who only care about themselves. In this case, I experienced a disappointing amount of integrity from Dave Loftus and DEL Concrete. Look where we are at now: I will most likely have to pay another contractor to replace the brand-new concrete that was just poured by DEL Concrete and am so frustrated that I felt compelled to write this review. You would think any reasonable business would want to try and avoid this situation from ever getting to this point.

It was a bit of a tricky job due to the trim being arched, which meant it had to be traced and cut appropriately. I had the pleasure of contacting David, whom I asked several questions of how he would go about the process and I felt very comfortable with everything he walked through. He scheduled the work for a couple weeks out, text notifications let me know when he would be arriving and he was able to complete everything within a few hours. David cut the replacement beautifully using PVC so there is no maintenance on it in the future and caulked / sealed up all points of exposure to rain. He was very efficient, kind, and answered all the questions I had since I'm learning to do these kinds of tasks on my own.
