(Beware of Zamak--once the zinc coating starts to degrade, the rust of the underlying pot metal is significant and fast). On a whim, I drove 40 minutes to their location last week. I did not have an appointment, but Dondra (DJ) spent an hour with me. I thought I knew wet shaving, but she was a wealth of information. She showed me several stainless steel razors and discussed the differences in detail. I was intrigued with the Rex Supply Co. "slant" razors, but ended up with the Yates Winning for now (I'll be back for that one). She explained the difference between the Yates and my Merkur, and the Winning is very easy to use with little learning curve. It would be an excellent first safety razor, as it is so easy to use. She gave me a few Personna DE blades to try, but I found my Feathers to yield a more BBS shave. It turns out that DJ makes their brand of shaving soaps and she sent me home with a sampler pack. The lather is impressive--thicker than my go to Proraso cream. I had a question on the care of the Winning and received a reply from Matt Pisarcik, the owner and YouTube star himself! If you live near Phoenix, a trip to their location is worth the drive. They are close to PHX, so you could stop by on your way to/from the airport. 10/10.

I emailed regarding the error, and their reply was that I ordered too much shaving cream, so I needed to email them my driver's license. I cancelled the order. Here's where they're shady. They won't initiate a refund. After 3 days, I contacted PayPal but had to wait the customary week+ to get my refund. Go on Reddit, badgerandblade, etc. and do a search. You'll find many such cases of piss poor customer service. I didn't want to change the review but my Konsul, regardless of settings, kept creating weepers, etc. so it went into the trash. I didn't want to update this review. However, after the shaving cream experience, I needed to update. That's my experience and opinion, but don't take my word for it. Do a search.

I…read morethought I already wrote a detailed review for this location, but maybe it was for a specific event. A short but sweet review is that Lather makes wonderful products that are naturally based and have the functionality & quality you'd expect from other high end product lines but using ingredient lists you can feel good about and trust. I absolutely love this brand and will continue to be a customer, as I've tried almost all of the products they make and we are lucky in AZ to have a brick and mortar location since there aren't many. I also purchase products online from them when I don't have time to stop in the store. Their loyalty program is really great with accumulating points that translate to discounts on purchases and special VIP sale events. I love the smell of the products and when you step into the storefront it's beautifully set up and smells very nice.

I brought in a clipper and trimmer for sharpening around the beginning of August. Over the phone, I was told they would be ready in 3-7 days. When I dropped them off, I was then told it could take up to two weeks. After waiting, I started calling to check on the status. Half the time, no one would answer the phone. When they did answer, they sometimes acted like they didn't know I had dropped off my equipment. I was repeatedly given the runaround, with responses like, "I need to find them. I'll call you back." Not once did I actually receive a call back. I always had to call and follow up to get updates. I was told that both my trimmer and clipper had been sharpened, but the issue with my clipper was never fixed. I specifically asked if they could address the rattling because it clearly needed an adjustment. I finally received my equipment on September 24, almost two months after dropping it off. I was only billed for the trimmer, but the delay still cost me money because I was unable to use my equipment for haircuts, including cutting my own hair. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this business. The communication and follow-through were disappointing, and I feel like my time was not respected.

While the staff was all-female when I visited, the class had both men and women, so this is not just for the girls! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting to work with others in the class on our custom shea butters. There are a variety of scents, colors and essential oils that you can add to personalize your creation. The only suggestion I would make to the staff would be to have a hand washing station and area to clean up readily available to guests, stocked with lots of paper towels and grease-cutting soap. Our class was on a Sunday and we were told that by the end of the week they run out of paper towels to give guests to help clean up. Our hands were so slippery and greasy from mixing ingredients when we left and it would have been really nice to have been able to clean up before we headed home. Overall it was a fun and unique way to spend an afternoon and I'd definitely recommend this class to couples or groups! Thanks for a wonderful time!
