I bought these two soaps in March 2020. I've used the eucalyptus one every day for more than two years to wash my hands at pandemic levels. I'm about to retire it and begin the next hand washing adventure. (I bought the brown so long ago I can't remember what scent it is and I can't detect through its subtly.) After a recent visit with Tracy, I took home a bag full of goodies I'm sort of addicted to smelling. The packaging is also adorable, and the soaps are really pretty - like extra decorations for your bathroom. I'm absolutely in love with the Tea Tree-Rosemary Face bar, $9, with organic coconut oils, organic palm oil and natural herbs, spices and minerals. It's ideal for oily to combination skin, promoting antioxidant activity and includes invigorating peppermint and gentle exfoliating qualities. It smells amazing - probably the best thing to cover your face with on the daily - and really leaves you feeling clean and refreshed. I got two soaps - some Blueberry Lavender, $8, which is one of Tracy's most popular brands, and a Lavender Vanilla, $8, which has two of my favorite scents. They're both made with organic coconut oils, palm oils, herbs and minerals, and they work up great lathers that will make you never want to stop washing your hands. I also was treated to a Hydrating Mist, $10, a refreshing spray that is good for setting mineral makeup or to just cool off and add some antioxidant-filled ingredients to your precious pores. It contains tea, organic aloe vera and essential oils, and instead of leaving you oily, it helps to balance your hydration levels so you don't overproduce oil to compensate for dryness. As someone with oily skin, trust me, I love this mist! One of the coolest things about Strawberry Hedgehog is that there are "Soap Clubs" offered. Because the soaps are all made from vegan ingredients, they have a shorter shelf life than artificial stuff, so it's best to get them in smaller quantities. Perkins is highly knowledgeable about the value of vegan beauty products. Perkins used to work at a major beauty brand before getting sick from their products. Now she creates her own adorable goodies, using natural ingredients with no harsh chemicals or toxins. Besides getting to know ingredients to avoid on labels (fragrance is a HUGE one), workshop participants were also treated to delicious vegan eats and tea, and we even made our own facial and body scrubs using essential oils. The two-hour workshop was so much fun, and we left with a ton of recipes to continue healthy beauty rituals at home. Perkins regularly hosts workshops on a variety of topics. Due to social distancing, I have not been able to visit the shop itself, so I cannot speak to that experience. However, I placed an order through the website and it literally arrived the next day! I heard about Strawberry Hedgehog on Darkhall Coffee's insta stories. Strawberry Hedgehog apparently makes a limited edition Darkhall Coffee soap that is made with fig and coffee (two of my favorite things). Naturally I placed an order and the soap smells and works great. I also got the Sweet Tooth soap which smells like licorice (also a fave). Everything was packaged up nicely with a handwritten note. I was very pleased with my order and customer service. I look forward to being able to visit the store front in the future! read more

What a cute boutique! I've known about it for ages but never had a need to go in (and it's not close to home or work). I always thought it was just vegan soap, but Kate from Hauspanther posted some Mother's Day cat items on Instagram today, so that was all the excuse I needed! I didn't realize they have a whole Kate cat corner! We enjoyed browsing all of the items, but mostly the gifts. I'm not much of a fancy soap person. We got the "cat mom box" plus some yin/yang cat pins for Mother's Day. They packaged it in a cute gift bag for us. It was worth the trip! They also have items from other local vegan vendors, such as Fluffy Vegans' kale chips and some interesting-looking vegan cheese. Maybe we'll try them on the next visit! What most don't know about me is that I am sensitive to most body/bath/ products and fragrances so I normally stick to what I know that doesn't give me an allergic reaction or headaches. My son was telling me about Strawberry Hedgehog and how I might like it, and I was honest with him and told him that the odds of me being able to stay a fragrant store are slim to none, I'm explaining this to you all because I am not the type of person who can just pick things up and smell them & touch them, but said ok let's give this a try! From the outside, the shop looks cute, and when we walked in, you are not hit in the face with an abundance of fragrant, so that put me at easy right away. Strawberry Hedgehog is such a super cute store; I need to come back with more money haha. Their hand soaps are crafted hand soaps that are vegan friendly, free of preservatives, chemicals & artificial dyes or fragrances and visually pretty. Before you knew it, I was touching, smelling, holding soap bars with no care in the world. We got a good deal on 3 bars of soap (3 for $25), 2 went with my son and I took home a blueberry lavender soap, its bright blue and has blueberry extract, tart lemon & calming lavender. I absolutely love this bar of soap; it is a firm bar of soap that will last a while. I personally feel it adds the right touch of eclectic whimsy that many neighborhoods in Phoenix lack. If you're looking for giant soap bubble advertising, maybe go to Lush at the MALL. This is a business clearly trying to break away from that mold which I appreciate very much considering the "big box" chain store culture we have out here. I've purchased several bar soaps from this shop- Sweet Orange Clove is a must-have. Also on deck are yummy sugar scrubs and tonics loaded with essential oils. Following them on Instagram is helpful as they post all of the different locations that stock the brand. It's such a shame Yelp is just a breeding ground for those who feel entitled enough to shove their unsolicited analytical BS down the throat of anyone brave enough to open a shop. Strawberry Hedgehog is amazing. I walked in and fell in love with the beautiful aromatherapy swirling all around my face. The products (all locally made) include a lot more than just soap. I was able to pick up a lavender facial mist, and I got my man "mountain man" beard oil that smells fabulous. I even came home with a few pieces of art. The staff was dedicated, friendly and educated on all the products and how they were made. I can definitely see myself coming back here for future needs but also tis the season for gift giving. Best soap I've ever used... plus so much more Tracy is a genius- I never knew how toxic my beauty routine was until she enlightened me. She has a masters degree and is a legit scientist! Scientist+vegan+ anti-chemical= truly natural, animal friendly and effective products! I will never switch. Was so excited to come try this shop out as we've followed them on ig for a few months now. We even planned a week ago , commenting on their instagram about how we'd be in soon for our Mother's Day gifts ( I brought my niece and her friend , we had been planning a week in advance- we drove from Scottsdale to phx in Friday rush hour to get there). When we got there we spent $170 in cash between everything we got. Later on I checked the instagram come to find out they offered free gift wrapping with any purchase !! We were NOT offered this so unless you're checking their Instagram every minute before you do go in- you obviously will not be notified - no mater how much you spend and how loyal you appear to be. I'm not a cheap customer and was really looking forward to coming back here. I will take my cash, time and effort somewhere else that is respected and appreciated. I went to comment on their Instagram about how I wished the free gift wrap was offered for our $170 purchase and instead of taking accountability and responsibility - instead they just deleted the comment. Huge shame - you would've had your most reliable and loyal customer ever had you treated it a little more carefully and with courtesy. I am sure they will reply with a decent excuse for why this happened and why the Instagram comment was deleted instead of taking accountability. Omg! Just walking in here is like a spa treatment. The scent of all the florals and herbs in the handmade soaps and beauty products just knocks all the stress out of your body. Store is soooo cute and original! Its like my dream bedroom. Original art and handmade lotions and jewelry line the walls. I spent a long time looking at all the different products. I ended up purchasing the sea breeze soap and facial lotion for about $30. Which is actually similar or cheaper for what youd spend at lush. The soap is amazing! I keep it in my shower but it perfumes my whole bathroom with its oceanside and peppermint scent. Love it. The lotion is very moisturizing and great for my sensitive skin. usually I have to use two or three layers of lotion on my face to keep it moisturized but one layer of this lotion and my skin is dewy and fresh for the whole day and not oily. I only wish they had as much variety with their other beauty products as they do with their soaps. Very pricey. No package deals for gifts. I put myself on the email list to get notified on specials and this was in November and nothing. I spent $ 30 for a little jar of lotion and a bar soap. Don't get me wrong its a cute place however its pricey. I found another local naturalist soap maker and moisturizer and its the same quality pretty much the same ingredients for a much lesser price and I got a package deal where I go send out as gifts. I was introduced to Strawberry hedgehog in June of 2016. I had been fighting angry adult acne for years and had tried just about everything to help clear it up. My first purchase was a bar of rosemary & tea tree soap, tea tree facial moisturizer and the lavender tea tree facial mist. Within 6 weeks my skin started healing!
