It was the cashier who was a bit rude. She was asking me questions as if I didn't want in with the product. Which I've exchanged products I've actually used at another location and had no issue. I come to Ulta often cause the Sephora closest to me customer service is way too bad. This Ulta has improved a whole lot as far as the customer service. So I still like Sephora better? Yes. The last 2 visits I had here were quite pleasant. Beware: this store attracts a lot of Karen's so that's just a heads up. I do like the Ulta reward program cause it actually gives you money off purchases as opposed to flimsy trial size products like Sephora. When I walked in there was a huddle of stylists talking. I was told to follow Nieve to have a chat. Before she could start I asked where a bathroom was for my daughter, who was getting her hair cut. She said if she used the restroom there wouldn't be enough time and she'd have to cancel the apt. I checked the clock, only three minutes late from the appointment time. Then I was told bc I was three minutes late they were going to cancel my appointment. Don't blame using the restroom for needing to reschedule. I scheduled an eyebrow appointment for 12:00pm today. I have an hour lunch, so I try to be proactive. I got there at 11:50 stood at the brow bar for over 10 minutes decided to shop a little since no one was around. Not a single employee stopped by. I saw several walking around and no one said anything just focused on stocking and talking. I believe the brow lady showed up (late) at 12:07, slammed her Stanley on the counter and walked to the back of the store. Again, no acknowledgment. As someone who worked in a service industry it is so incredibly hard for me to be mad, so I just left. Sucks, because I always have Ulta my business. Wow where do I even start.... I live in Gilbert and usually go to the Ulta on Market St. Always FANTASTIC service. I was in the Chandler area and had a few items I needed to return so I stopped in here. I went to the counter to return my items. I explained to the girl that the items were on two separate orders. One had a paper receipt the other was on online order pick up and I showed her the email with the order number. She then asked for my phone number to look up my account. Turns out the online order I placed wasn't under my phone number however she is not the one that figured that out, I did, and this was after multiple suggestions to her to just use the order number I had pulled up on my phone! She kept trying to refund me for a different item. She kept ignoring my questions and suggestions and called a manager over. I had left my son in the car thinking this would be a quick in and out so, I ended up calling him to let him know it might be a while so he should come inside. Finally the manager comes over, doesn't say anything to me, even after I suggested AGAIN they look up the order number and guess what?!?! She says oh just use the order number to the associate smh. It was as if I didn't even exist! After 15 minutes of this nonsense, I had to use the restroom. I walked to the back of the store, near the salon, and asked the associate working in the back where the restroom was. She didn't not look at me and just waved her hand and said "Over there". I look at the direction she motioned to and there were a few doors, none of which said restroom. I said "I'm sorry which door is it". She doesn't look at me again and does the same "Down there" while waiving her hand again. I then said "Down the hall?" she grunted and said "Yeah....". Why was this interaction so difficult???!?! Oh but wait there's more...... Once I come out of the restroom, a different associate was frantically racing towards me asking my name. After I told her she yells, "Your son is outside all alone!" Turns out he was trying to walk in to the store to meet me as per our conversation and was stopped by some of the gals that worked there freaking out. They all gave me very judgmental looks and whispered what I'm sure were rude comments under their breath. My son is very small for his age, he looks about 6 but he is almost 9. I've never had an experience any where quite like this where I felt invisible, judged and shamed. Shame on you Chandler Ulta. read more

I had my maternity shoot planned for a weekend. So, I was planning something quick, good and reasonable. I came across Ulta beauty on yelp and wanted to give it a try. Scheduling an appointment was super easy, u can do it online or over the phone and choose the stylist as well. I just wanted a regular blow dry, went on a Saturday afternoon and the salon was pretty empty. I was checked in and the stylist asked me if I wanted water. She saw my hair and said its pretty curly and we might need to use heating tools but lets see. She washed and conditioned my hair and took me straight to blow dry. She was quick and was doing a good job but I have a good hair volume and its curly so after every few minutes she kept sighing with relief which was really awkward to me. Thats not how u treat a customer, every hair is different. However I am ignoring it only because she did a good job in the end and my hair looked good. The price is reasonable and it costed $28 plus tip. I am likely to visit this salon again to get some quick blow drys done but probably with a different stylist. read more

I made an appointment for this morning to get my hair done. I got a voicemail saying the stylist who I scheduled with called out but they could squeeze me in at 10. so I called back. The girl who I spoke to was very unprofessional. She said whoever called me was lying and they cannot squeeze me in. I asked if there was anyone to do my hair today and she said no, they are completely booked but I can come tomorrow. I explained to her that couldn't come because I had to go out of my way to get my kids taken care of for the day so I could come and can't really afford to just put them in extra days of daycare. Make up purchasing in COVID environment is not nearly as much fun as it used to be, but Ulta has a generous 6 month policy for returns. Over the past year I have been purchasing more from Ulta than Sephora due to the discounts offered. I also like having the drugstore/ unique makeup artists brands available. This Ulta is right by my house so this is the only one I've been using for a year now! The girls are so helpful and usually know where everything is. I used curbside quite a bit this year during Covid along with picking up online orders. They even go as far as making sure I get some type of free bee no matter what if another isn't available for a sale going on on whatever specific days. What an amazing experience! We took our bestie to this location and we were passed up by 3 employees until Tasha came up to us and asked if we needed help. At first we told her no but because she wasn't pushy to help us we decided to ask her for help with highlighters and she was AMAZING! To preference before you read. I go to Ulta OFTEN, I am a diamond member (highest you can be) with an Ulta Mastercard... AWFUL experience. You're gonna wanna hear this. I have never been to this location before - I stopped in to get a few things on my lunch break with my mom to help her pick out a few new items. We are going about our business looking around the more pricey side of Ulta and I am trying a new eyebrow product on my mom. (I am very familiar with makeup, I have been doing my makeup and others for 10 years and I've tried EVERY product). As we pick out the correct shade for her we are interrupted asking if we need help. We both say no thank you and go about our business as the worker continues to stand there and stare, giving her opinions on the product (we didn't ask, but thanks anyways). We smile, go about our business and say "we got it, thank you!" She continues... she suggests we try a different brand that has a whole different type of application. We explain to her we want a wand application as she insists we follow her to another brand and pulls out a pencil application and starts applying it to my moms face. My mom is so sweet and can't stand up for herself as this girl is at this point begging us to buy this one instead and I tell her once more - no thank you, she likes the one we already picked out and wants a wand application. This lady is insisting this is a wand application because it has a spoolie on the end, even though it is a pencil. We say no thank you AGAIN. And then she starts to tell me that I need to use a different product on my brows and starts suggesting stuff to me. I say nope, I like what I wear and I have tried what you are suggesting and do not like it. I also let her know we are on a lunch break and don't have time to be suggested all of these products, being very clear to her that we aren't interested in her help anymore. Mind you, this lady told us several times she has been a makeup artist over 20 years... She then insists that my mom try a vitamin C skin serum and that it will be quick. My mom being sweet and feeling bad for saying no says okay please be quick, she brings my mom over to a chair for 5-7 minutes and applies OILY NIGHT SKIN SERUM TO HER ALREADY MAKEUP-ED FACE!! Over her foundation, powder, bronzer, etc. after promising her it wouldn't take her makeup off. It's OIL??! Hellooooo? Are you serious? WE ARE ON A LUNCH BREAK AND HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK. my moms makeup on her face is now completely destroyed by whatever this girl put on her face and she then tries to convince my mom to buy it and hands her all of the product to buy. We then say we really have to get going and she continues to follow us around the store. My poor mom is embarrassed because her makeup is now ruined so she starts using testers to fix what this lady messed up. I start color testing foundation on my hands and she asks if I would like her todo it for me. I say "nope, I got it!" And she starts recommending all different types of foundation claiming she's sold a ton of a certain brand that I have tried and absolutely hated. I say "no thank you!" At this point very frustrated with her. She continues to linger so at this point I grab a random shade and walk off because she will NOT leave us alone. We then put back everything she tried to sell us because we didn't like anything but she absolutely forced it on us. In the midst of all this - I was stopped by 3 other employees asking me what I needed help with. Not even "do you need anything?" But a firm "what do you need help with." Listen - if I was wondering around acting like I didn't know what I was doing or if my makeup looked awful I would understand. But I wasn't and my makeup looked great. Plus I was buying expensive things on my own, it's not like they needed to up-sell me. And I get they're just doing their jobs but it was EXTREMELY pushy. Everybody trying to sell things, put things in your hand, and bombarding you. Not sure if the managers are pushing them todo this or if they have absolutely no sense of social awareness but it was the most stressful unpleasant and unhelpful (in the most annoying helpful way) ulta I have ever been to. We were 35 minutes late back to work because of all of this plus my moms makeup got destroyed. On another note - the front desk had 4 workers with only one at the register while the other 3 were on there phones. Maybe the floor people and register people need to switch places and this place would be a lot more pleasant. read more

For my hair, I go to Kacy- she's hilarious and does a great job from just a simple cut to bleach and funky colors (I went with purple)! The associates at check out always do a good job of keeping the line moving efficiently, even during the rushes of the holiday season. read more

I wish I loved this location because of how convenient the location is within proximity to my house. Unfortunately this is not the case. There is a man there who I am assuming is the manager is never very pleasant. The type of employee where you can tell they hate their job. Makes you really question why still work with people if you don't enjoy what you do. I've tried to exchange(a foundation) NOT return a gift from a friend but never gave me a gift receipt And she is not a Ulta rewards member for me to look up the receipt so he said It was not possible to do this without a receipt so i went on my way. I find it odd when the website says they will give you store credit or at least attempt to see if it's possible to get credit rather than just a straight up NO...goodbye type mentality. Super frustrating that I wasn't worth the second to check or even made to feel like I mattered in the slightest.
