If you're looking for the gold standard of playgrounds in Frisco (or honestly, anywhere nearby),…read moreHope Park is it. This is hands-down one of the most thoughtfully designed, beautifully maintained, and inclusive parks I've ever visited. The playground is massive, separated into different sections by age group, which is a lifesaver if you have both toddlers and older kids. Everything is built with accessibility in mind ramps, wide pathways, sensory features, musical instruments, and even mini pretend storefronts that spark imaginative play. The rubberized ground covering is such a bonus for safety too soft, clean, and comfortable for little ones learning to navigate the world. There's also a splash pad right next door, which is an absolute magnet on hot Texas afternoons. Shaded picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park, making it easy for parents and caregivers to relax without feeling like you have to hover the entire time. What makes Hope Park extra special is the heart behind it. It was created by the Frisco community with the dream of building a place where all children no matter their ability level could play side by side. You can feel that spirit when you're here. It's not just a playground; it's a celebration of inclusion, joy, and togetherness. Pro tip: It can get very busy on weekends, so early mornings or weekday evenings are perfect if you want more space to roam. Parking is plentiful, and restrooms are nearby. Five huge stars!

I see cross-fit groups out here all the time. There is a huge running/walking/biking loop around the entire park and connecting to other routes. I think also some kids soccer groups also play here. Families: there is a very large playground with benches and shade! It's top notch and well maintained. Tweens/teens- there are benches and sick places to hang. You can even bring hammocks. There is plentiful parking. Picnic tables. Families often come out on nights with solar events and their telescopes. To be fair it is super well lit so it may not be the best place for star gazing, but you get many people to interact with. Plus let me add for Pokémon Go players- three gyms and 6 Pokéstops so this makes for excellent playing.

Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!

I've contacted the management and said why don't you put some trees in there if you're not going to allow the large dogs in the big lot? And they have all kinds of strange governmental excuses. The sweet spot for this playground is probably 3-6 years, but there is plenty to do for the younger ages too. The max age for entry is 10. There are slides, climbing areas, and a rubber-bottomed hill for the kids to run up and roll down. Despite being fully closed in, the play area is bright and doesn't feel cramped at all (in comparison to Irving Bible Church's THE TUBES). Everything was exceptionally clean. The playground is open M-F from 10a-4p. It is free and open to the public, but you must check in at the desk in front of the play area before entering. No food or drinks in the play area and children MUST wear shoes. This was a bit of a drive for us, so I packed a lunch and after the kids had their fill of the playground, we headed over to the indoor eating area on the opposite side of the church ("The Commons") to eat. Overall a great morning of free fun - THANK YOU Prestonwood Baptist Church!

It is adjacent to Elliot Elementary School and the El Dorado Heights neighborhood in McKinney, TX. The park was still in new condition with no noticeable litter. -- The Playgrounds -- There are 2 playground structures within the overall playground area with wood chip mulch. The first is small and best for young to early elementary school aged children, and with close supervision it's good for very young children (note that there are gaps in the openings along the playground system). The second with its "mega" three-story playground is best enjoyed by elementary school through middle school aged children. During less busy times, younger children can be assisted on it, too. There are swings: a therapeutic/intermediate swing, bucket swing, 4 regular swings, and 2 additional bucket swings. The playground is in partial shade. -- Splash Pad -- A great feature that operates during the summer, the splash pad at John M. Whisenant Park is a stand out feature. -- Benches & Pavilions -- There is a picnic shelter/pavilion covering 3 picnic tables (first come, first serve -- no reservations). There are benches along the perimeter of the playground and trashcans near the picnic tables. -- Walking Areas -- There are paved walking paths and hike/bike trails within the park, along with hiking and biking trails.
