We love this park! They have great and well maintained trails. Also lots of great picnic areas. I just wish they had little doggy bag boxes near some of their trash cans.

Fantastic place! Go here to play basketball in the mornings and there's always people here jogging, fishing or playing volleyball. Great place to enjoy the day with friends and family :)

A group of us traveled up to Plano for Aimee Z's Conquer Chiari Walk Across America...yay Aimee! The park was super easy to find, although it took some strategic street thinking to figure out how to get to the North Pavilion, so I wish that would have been better marked. The N. Pavilion looks out over a looped concrete walkway, which is wide enough for walkers, runners, rollerbladers and bikers to share. Aimee told us that 4 laps equals a 3K, so you can even get some training done out here! The walkway surrounds a nice large pond -- no telling how deep it was or if you can fish in it, but it seems like a great place to take the family on a sunny afternoon for a picnic. In short, it's convenient, family-friendly and a safe area to play and exercise.

Today my wife and I decided to have a picnic in the park. It was a perfect day for it. The sun was shinning (which is normal in Texas) and we pretty much had the whole park to ourselves. There is a nice big pond/small lake there where you can walk/jog/bike around and feed ducks! There are plenty of picnic tables to eat at, and some benches to sit and relax. I would recommend going when it cools down, but that is for any outside activity. Its a great place! I added a bunch of photos of the place. I hope that helps you visualize it!

Beautiful park. The .7 mile trail around the pond/lake is well maintained and I've used it for jogging and walking the dog. It's mostly well lit at night and feels safe. They have a playground area, sand volleyball, basketball court, fishing pier, pavilion, and multiple BBQ grills. The bathroom has a water fountain and is next to the pavilion, although it is closed in the winter. There are lots of trash cans all around the park to make it easy to pick up after your dog. Speaking of dogs, on March 2018 they will begin construction of a new dog park at the southeast corner of Shiloh and Park which is right next to this park. It is scheduled to be completed December 2018 and should be a huge bonus to the area and all the dog owners.

The walking paths are excellent. You can stay in view of everyone or go off to secluded areas.

I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I can't wait to bring friends and family here!

If you're looking for the gold standard of playgrounds in Frisco (or honestly, anywhere nearby),…read moreHope Park is it. This is hands-down one of the most thoughtfully designed, beautifully maintained, and inclusive parks I've ever visited. The playground is massive, separated into different sections by age group, which is a lifesaver if you have both toddlers and older kids. Everything is built with accessibility in mind ramps, wide pathways, sensory features, musical instruments, and even mini pretend storefronts that spark imaginative play. The rubberized ground covering is such a bonus for safety too soft, clean, and comfortable for little ones learning to navigate the world. There's also a splash pad right next door, which is an absolute magnet on hot Texas afternoons. Shaded picnic tables and benches are scattered throughout the park, making it easy for parents and caregivers to relax without feeling like you have to hover the entire time. What makes Hope Park extra special is the heart behind it. It was created by the Frisco community with the dream of building a place where all children no matter their ability level could play side by side. You can feel that spirit when you're here. It's not just a playground; it's a celebration of inclusion, joy, and togetherness. Pro tip: It can get very busy on weekends, so early mornings or weekday evenings are perfect if you want more space to roam. Parking is plentiful, and restrooms are nearby. Five huge stars!

My husband and I came here for a weekend trek, and it's easily one of the best outdoor spots in North Texas. What I love most is the versatility. Whether you're looking for a smooth, paved stroll or want to get your boots a little dusty on the dirt hiking trails, they've got you covered. It's a great mix of elevation and flat stretches. It's a great spot for everyone. Pets are welcome (on leashes!), and there is a fantastic playground near the parking lot--perfect for kiddos who still have energy to burn after a hike. You'll see a beautiful variety of plants and likely some local wildlife. Just a heads-up: they do have warning signs posted for snakes and poison ivy, so definitely keep an eye on your surroundings while you explore. The parking lot is huge, but this place is popular! We arrived around 1:00 PM and it was nearly at capacity. We were lucky to snag a stall, but I'd definitely recommend arriving earlier in the morning if you want to avoid the parking hunt.

Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!
