Huge hot tub
Lea C.

We had an enjoyable stay here, Jan of 2021. I would imagine that during normal time, this place is hopping as they have SO much to do - all sorts of crafts, billiards, a 9 hole par 3 golf course, pool, hot tub, etc. Everyone was super friendly. Our spot was level, everything worked great. The on-site restaurant was really, really good. Amazing hot wings and daily specials. There is quite a bit of road noise coming from the highway, but only on the one side of the park- so make sure you choose a spot more centrally located. There are a few things to do in Yuma as well- museums , parks and decent restaurants as well. And for a bonus, it's a few degrees warmer than Phoenix in the winter. We will definitely return

We spent 4 days at Westwind RV a and Golf Resort in December during the season. We live in their sister park and wanted to stay in Yuma for a few days. Calling for reservations was easy and Lori was very personable and knowledgeable about the park. We were given the Passport America rate-although, their 4 day special is great, as well! Stay 3 days get the 4th free. We were given a perfect site that was close to the club house. The park has a small store in the registration office that sells shirts, hats, soda and a few snacks, a cafe, cocktail lounge, golf course with pro shop and clubhouse restaurant, library, billiards, exercise room, bocce ball, shuffleboard and pickle ball courts, laundry room, swimming pool and ballroom. They have music during the week and special concerts. They have clubs and games and so many activities that I can't name them all. Only negative is we have no cell service where we are and limited cell in the rest of the park. WiFi is paid which is usually free in most parks. It's also on the edge of town so going to places takes a bigger drive to get to major restaurants and mall.

Ask the Community - Westwind RV & Golf Resort

How much Pickleball is played at this resort? Any ball being played from May-October ? Thanks for your help!

Pickle Ball is a very popular sport at Westwind. In the past we have had limited pickleball played during our warmer months. Typically games start in Oct and end in April . This year we hope to have more of our amenities and fun activities open…

There's plenty room to dance and this is the closest thing to a club in Yuma. I wouldn't expect Vegas style clubbing but it fits Yuma. You'll find plenty of people just standing around people watching drinking Ultras. Yes, I was people watching the people that were people watching. Saturday night is the popular night at Kress. I've been on Friday and there is still an okay crowd but with less people. The energy is mixed I think partially because the DJ rocks sometimes random songs that don't transition the best. The drink aren't too bad and priced pretty fair. They also serve cubetas but I don't know the price. I think there is a VIP section, it looks okay. In my opinion the DJ on the roof is better but the roof is cold at night. Security has always been pretty cordial and the guy asks if it's alright to check my pockets. I know it's mandatory but the fact that he asks makes it seem less intrusive. I'm probably at Kress every other Saturday night and that'll probably be the case until I leave Yuma. If you bring the right people to a place like Kress and you'll have a good time.

Service is fantastic. Straight forward. No pushing. Fast and attentive…read more I ordered the Ahi Sandwich, it has sliced apple on it and avocado, served on a bun with he sauce on the side. It's the perfect combination for a light, filling dinner. The French frys are great too. Hubby had the Ribeye Sandwich which had onions, bellpeppers and melted cheese. One would call it a Philly cheese steak. He enjoyed it and cleaned his plate. As did I. This place can get packed but when it's not too busy, it's nice to sit out front and enjoy the winter weather Yuma has to offer. There aren't many good restaurants to eat at in Yuma, but this one is good food with good prices.

The appetizers were pretty expensive for the amount of food they give you (they serve them in beer glasses). We came here on vacation to Yuma per recommendation from family. When we arrived, we decided to sit outside on the patio and then it started sprinkling and moved inside. Our waitress was nice and helped us move our food inside. Once we got sat inside, we ordered 2 orders of the fried pickles and the bacon. The fried pickles had good flavor but they were thick-cut and stayed really hot/burned my tongue every time I bit into one. Each appetizer was approximately $10 each and they had small portions because they serve them in beee glasses which was a bit disappointing. We ordered 2 Western burgers and a Pint House burger. Unfortunately our waitress got the burger orders mixed up and we ended up having to switch the burgers out. Not sure what happened there. I ordered The Banger which was essentially a pepperoni pizza. The pizza dough was amazing and had a good bite on the crust, but the inside of the pizza was pretty thin and kind of soggy/undercooked. The size of the pizza was perfect and had overall had excellent flavor. I loved the freshness of the sauce. I would definitely order it again. Our party also said that the beer menu numbers did not correspond to the same flavors they had the last time they came here. Our waitress confirmed that the beer menu numbers change every day which seems a bit confusing for regular customers. I enjoyed the #6 Kasteel Rubus Raspberry Ale the best. The beer had super fresh fruity raspberry flavor. Unfortunately they ended up running out of it by the end of our visit. I would definitely come back here for beer in the future!

The couches are still there but the venue now has new wooden pews. The performers were great and my partner was even able to get up and play a song or two although he'd never played on stage before. The Range is the social circle for The Slabs (a nickname for the makeshift RV community in the…read moredesert commonly known as Slab City). It's a music venue and gathering spot for celebration/community. Essentially it's some old buses set up with a crappy stage in between with an assortment of beaten down couches and chairs for the audience to sit on. There isn't always a set schedule, and basically anyone could get up on that stage to play: so the performers can range from really good to absolutely terrible. But that's really not the point. At the heart of The Slabs, this is where you'll get to see a gathering of some quite interesting folks. They'll be people cracked out, some dancing with no cares in the world, others playing with fire. People that come here just are who they are, no matter the opinions of the outside world. It's a reflection of a very eclectic group of folks. So go enjoy yourself, but expect some interesting things out there. P.S. You're going to have to venture inside Slab City to get here (so basically the middle of the desert), so I'd suggest connecting with some folks ahead of time that can guide you around. Check out the website or East Jesus.
