Kennedy Park has a play area for children, the grass is kept green, the restrooms are kept clean, and it looks like they are under construction adding additional space for kids to have fun. I know it has had a bad rap in the past but folks can go there during the day and have fun! I saw they had a huge area dedicated to horseshoes (a classic outdoor lawn game where two or four players toss horseshoes at stakes placed 40 feet apart) that several older folks were using. There is also a side, smaller area for toddlers with smaller slides, swings, climbing tubes, etc. Along the perimeter there is a traditional zip line and one with a chair. This is also connected to a trail that goes along the Colorado River that has very nice views and is quite long!

The Pacific Ave Athletic Complex (PAAC) went up about a month or so ago, and triggered my curiousity after seeing the construction, plus how it's lit up at night while baseball games go on...hmmm...let's check it out. Went there mid morning...here's what I saw... - Ample parking - A man-made lake with rentable gazebo's by it - Nicely kept baseball fields, electronic scoreboards, very tall fence-thingies (sorry, I'm writing this review late at night)...the places to sit were like concrete slabs...but decent! And under some sort of shade -An age appropriate playing area - A shaded snack area (no ATM's, maybe cash only) - Plenty of overhead lights for those night games Reviews on Google say no outside food allowed or they have certain fees...not sure about that. I guess people don't mind as it seems busy on evenings and nights. Yuma needed this so...here it is. Worth checking out.

On to Big Curve Fitness. Lots of clean, well maintained equipment. The members are mostly Marines, because it's owned by a Marine. People are courteous, but keep to themselves. They maintain great gym etiquette. They are open 24 hours also. Great music is playing. I feel I am getting healthier because the environment is healthy and motivating.

When I moved to Yuma a few months ago, my first task was to find a gym I could sign with. On my first visit, I was offered a tour of the 10,000+ square-foot space and introduced to the staff. I liked the gym immediately as it had everything I could ever want: cardio equipment, strength equipment, free weights, a deadlift mat, core training, resistance bands, you name it! Being that my fiancée and I work in healthcare, the staff discounted our monthly rate. There were no gimmicks like sign-on fees, annual fees, or any of that nonsense. The monthly payments began, and so did my gym patronage. This gym is available 24/7. Members are given scan-cards that unlock the side entrance (next to Las Palapas). It takes some getting used to, and you might find yourself standing awkwardly outside from time to time trying to open the door, but you get the hang of it. The main room contains all the cardio equipment plus a lounge area to relax. If you're lucky, the owners' dog, Teddy, might come up to say hello to you. In the adjoining weight room, you will find all the strength equipment you need, from dumbells to barbells, hex bars to pull-up bars, dip stations to squat racks, and so forth. There's plenty of space, and they provide sanitation stations to keep the equipment clean. There are no locker rooms (this used to be a furniture warehouse), but there are two bathrooms and a filtered water station. I have had the pleasure of working out at Big Curve since November. It's nice getting to see the same people every day, sharing the equipment, and crushing PRs. I couldn't have asked for a better gym community since moving out here. So, if you're new to the area and looking to patronize a small business, look no further than Big Curve Fitness. You won't find a better place in Yuma to work out!

We all spent 15 minutes going over the main topic, then had Water Zumba for about an hour. It was also a great way to get some cardio before hitting the gym. I'd consider doing it again!

Only have beef with one hole, it borders a fence line to the left and the hole is a dogleg left. To the right is water. Not the best course design for that one. They need to upgrade the golf carts though! I had a fun time, definitely will play again. Restaurant is very good, was surprised with that. Looked like folks would come to the clubhouse just for the food.

The lasers weren't on during the day, but the small train was in great condition and we were able to board the cabin. Located in the northeast corner of the Hilton Garden Inn property, Pivot Point sits above Gateway Park. The parking lot says it is only for the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center so we probably broke some trespassing law. (Thankfully, the Territorial Prison no longer takes inmates.) It's a quick 5 minute visit, but it's also free.

When we arrived, checking-in and signing waivers was easy and went quick. Staff were friendly and helpful. We brought drinks, snacks and sandwiches in a cooler and rented an extra tube for it. Be sure to bring sunblock, hats, rash-guards (if you burn), and a small plastic paddle or even a frisbee can help get you away from brush if needed.
