Waylon's Waterworld

Waylon's Waterworld has everything you need to enjoy the desert weather and have a blast while doing it. The water park features three massive water slides, a jungle gym, a kiddie pool, and their most popular attraction the lazy river. Waylon's Waterworld also has tons of space for any size party and rents out ramadas for those looking for a more private affair. If you're hungry, don't stress they have a snack shack with tons of comfort foods like pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and even churros.

Is it weird that I have posted better pictures of this place than exist on their website? There should be about five of these parks in Yuma. It was 257 degrees while I was there, so going here was a no-brainer. This isn't a stand alone place... it's part of Z Fun Factory. CONS *Unclear where to go once you go thru the giant front door *Unclear where to go once you pay and go outside (you are suddenly on a mini-golf course) *Nowhere near 15 real slides... expect 4-7 good ones. *This is expected, but rude people abound... don't let them cut you in line, or push you around... just call them out and all should be okay *Some dirty cholas making out with cholos around the shady part of the river *I just assume the water is 30% piss *No regular pool in which to chill *Terrible website *Lifeguards really looked like they hated their jobs * I put good for kids... but you really need to watch the little ones closely. They will get knocked over, pushed, etc if you aren't vigilant PROS *It's hot as Hades in Yuma, so if you want to be outside, you must be near water *Discount after 2 PM (18 dollars per ticket) *I believe kids under 3 are free *The three big slides are super-fun *There is a bar with alcohol *Toddler pool for the really little ones (but no adult pool :( ) *Cabanas you can rent... well kind of cabanas *The walk to the actual water park makes you want to immediately jump into the water without hesitation

Went to Waylon's Water World for my father-in-law's company picnic. He works in El Centro; my husband, daughter and I live in San Diego. For a small water park, it was a lot of fun and refreshing in 100+ degree temps. I'm giving the park only four stars for the following: - The concrete surrounding the park gets HOT. It would have been nice to not have to wear pool shoes, which weigh you down in the water, but at this park they are a must-have, unless you want to burn your feet. They really should consider treating the concrete with some kind of cooling agent or something. I'm sure there's something out there for that purpose. I saw so many kids (and adults, for that matter) running around trying to avoid burning their feet. That just sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. - Would be nice to have more shady areas, particularly near the lounge chairs along the left wall where you first enter the park. Again, it was a blazing hot day and although we were fortunate to have the shady rear area of the park near the big slides reserved for our group, others weren't so fortunate. - The lounge chairs were dirty and could use a good cleaning or at least a good spray-down - There were a lot of kids splashing around in the Lazy River when I was floating on it just trying to relax. I'm guessing this is because there wasn't really a dedicated pool for splashing around and playing? Unless you count the one by the slides, toward the kiddie pool, but that one wasn't very deep and it was more of an entry/exit point than an actual pool for swimming/playing. I'm not sure if the park is worth $25 per adult. Seems a bit steep especially considering how small the park is. I would probably go there later in the afternoon to get the discounted price. Bottom line, though, we still had fun. If you're in the Yuma/El Centro area and looking for a fun place to beat the scorching desert heat, Waylon's Water World is a great idea. Just be sure to bring water shoes!

It's definitely NOT a $25 per person park and despite the 3rd degree burns on my feet (haha) it is very nice and clean. Fun was had by all!
