When you realize you are in Yuma Arizona he realized just how nice this dog bark actually is. It is very long and somewhat narrow or it is really really really really really wide and not very long depending on how you look at it! It has a very nice concrete walk path that goes all the way around the entire park. It even has a couple crossovers in case you don't make it all the way hahaha there is a nice bench that is out in the sun when you first walk in, and then there is a nice shaded area with a brick wall and a beautiful statue. Then you make it up the hill a little bit to where you find a nice shaded bench with trees around it. There is a nice water facility as well as poop bag holders and trash cans all around the walk path. It also appears there is lighting because it is open after dark. There are a few agility items that are spaced around the park. parking is right next to the dog park or right on the street outside the gate. The only problem I noticed was that there gentle slope that runs down and back up the other side. read more

The best dog park in Yuma. And not just because it is the only free one. I love that there is shade for the hottest days of summer and water for the pooches. There is also plenty of room for the fur babies to run. There are benches for the people to take a rest if needed. And there are usually plenty of free "doggy bags" so you can pick up after your pet. The people that frequent the park are friendly and polite (mostly) and their dogs are well behaved (again, mostly). You can usually find someone to chat with or just be left to walk and play with you doggy on your own. read more

As we were driving from California to Tucson, halfway through, we realized we needed to walk our pups. And typically we walk them near an area with grass or a little bit of rocks. But for some reason this time we decided to search for a dog park and we came across the BARK park. Which we are extremely thankful for as our dogs loved it. I highly recommend anyone traveling from Arizona to California or vice versa and are in need of a dog park. You definitely have to come here. It's definitely not the cleanest, but it's really convenient because there's a lot of grass a lot of space for your dog to play and a sidewalk. They also have loads of benches to sit down. read more

We are so glad that Yuma as a Dog Park. The positives are that it has a cement walkway traveling around the outside of the dog park so you can walk laps while your dog is exercising. Shade and water for the dogs are provided. We were there in the summer so the grass was pretty burnt and it looks like the one wall is collapsing and needs repair but we're thankful Yuma has at least one Dog Park. Unexpected! This is one of the best off-leash dog parks I have visited, and I've been to dozens. Plenty of romping room for the our four-legged friends, and shady sitting spaces for the two legged ones.Found it on Yelp, located on Google Maps while visiting from out of town with our by- now restless adolescent Shepherd -mix, who had been riding in the car for over two hours. Tucked behind Walmart off S. Pacific and our favorite ice cream stop Hamburger Stand on E. Palo Verde, home of the Fruit Loops dipped cone, lies a hidden dog oasis known as the Bark Park. Running nearly 3.5 acres of lush, well manicured fields, doggies can whip out their wiggles by zooming around the rolling hills. With several obstacle courses, dog owners can spend hours training and playing with their furry friends. Three miles a bit too much for you? Don't fret! There lies ample seating sprinkled throughout the beautifully paved walking trail, with a refreshing water fountain with both Pupdres y perritos! The Bark Park invites harmony and encourages the pack mentally needed for many domestic canines. Catch the park at the right time of day and you'll find yourself enjoying the happy "laughter" of puppies playing. We rate the Bark Park really at a 4.9 out of 5 because it is in need of more shaded coverings. If it wasn't for this one tiny issue, this doggy haven is certainly five star. While although the @cityofyumaaz is certainly phenomenal about keeping the grounds sanitary with scheduled maintenance, remember to DO YOUR PART in helping reduce the spread of disease and PICK UP after your pooch! There is no section for small dogs. Do not have your small dog off leash here. We've had two instances where a larger dog lunged at ours. Also the fencing near the back is not wired so if your dog is small they can slip out through the gaps unless they are border collie size and up, mine did. Thankfully we caught him. Keep the little ones on a leash or VERY close. read more

I travel around all year long and go to a lot of dog parks all over the country. We hit 812 of them last year. This park still amazes me because it looks like they took what was the old land behind a bunch of stores and turned it into an incredibly big and active dog park it's not very wide but it sure is long!!! And it's got Hills and Valleys for them to run up and down and in and through, it's got obstacles for training, it has a nice path with elevation changes that is very comfortable to walk on. Upside: The park is pretty big and has 2 entrances in the front and 1 entrance close to the neighborhood side in the back. Paved sidewalk that within the park. Multiple benches around the park. Water fountain and communal water bowl near the center of the park. There are 4 bag/poop stations. In the last 6 months they have built a covered seating area. Downside: The POOP-petrators are still at large. The park manager even put up new large signs on the gates that say "Do your duty when your dog does theirs" HA. Much help that does. Luckily, the park is closed on Tuesdays for cleaning/ maintenance. Needless to say I like going on Wednesdays. My boyfriend and I like to bet on who will not pick up after their dogs. We all know the real problem is the pet owner. I see most of the dog owners congregating in either the covered seating area or near the middle of the park. If people would actually watch over their dog then they would know when the dog shat. My main issue is when owners do not watch over their aggressive dogs. When I first started bringing my chihuahua puppy to the park she would constantly run around and was super playful. One day a pit bull (yes, you Molly) aggressively went after her and next thing a barrage of large dogs was after her. Ever since that day she doesn't run around and always stays close to me. I've also heard stories of bite attacks on other dogs here at this park. To simply pu it, go with extreme caution. Be very cautious around the Pit bulls and the German Sheppards. Also, I don't know who in their right mind would bring small children to a dog park with large dogs. I've seen kids get knocked over by big dogs. Please don't bring kids...just sayin. read more

Perfect place to let our dogs let off some steam during a long road trip. Will definitely be stopping again!

Not much has changed except the temp! Still a clean, non-smelly pooch park. Lets talk about the temps in the summer. I experimented with times in the mornings once the temps started getting over 100 during the day. I found it best to arrive at 6am and out by 730. Most days it was over 90 by 730 and just too hot for the pups. I also recommend bringing your own bowl with a frozen water bottle. The pipes never cool down, so even refilling the community bowl still makes for hot drinking water. My bottles would melt slowly and i could mix spigot and bottle to give a refreshing drink. Looking forward to the cooler weather...Be safe everyone and watch for heat exhaustion in you and your pets! read more

The numerous times we've visited here with our dogs, always a good time (for the dogs!). Other dogs and their owners nice and polite, I believe there's an age limit for kids. Big long area for pets to play and run...like a old canal-kind of with grass and doggie exercise things around. Lit nicely at night. I believe it's sunup to sundown (or 9pm) seven days a week. My pup absolutely loves this park! It's long with paved walkways and rolling grassy areas for them to run and play. Always have great conversations with others and have never had a problem with unruly dogs. Clean with shaded areas as well as water for the pups. Plenty of doggie bags so no excuses for not cleaning up after them. read more

The dog park itself is amazing! It is a huge park with lots of trees, well maintained, and has water bowls for your dogs! However, there are a few regulars that have poorly trained dogs who don't take responsibility of their dogs. My little puppy was being repeatedly humped and chased despite me respectfully asking the owner to keep their dog from humping mine, without any intervention we made our way out of the park when the dog rushed at mine and pinned her down in dog shit. We only went to the park 3 times before deciding we weren't going anymore because every day it was another owner not taking responsibility of their dog and in turn endangering others. I would not recommend this for dogs with any kind of aggression or dogs who don't have a recall. I have spoke to multiple regulars at this park who have aggressive dogs that laughed in my face when I talked about training recall. This park is too big to let off leash without recall. I say that because any dog can chase and attack your dog to the other side of the park, you WILL NOT get there in time to help. That being said if you're concerned about your dogs safety, I would recommend not letting off leash until trained in recall. read more

Dogs and owners are usually nice and social. *The park closes alot during the rainy season and is closed on Tuesdays. *If your dog isn't a puppy and has never been socialized please use a leash. *Dogs sniff butts to say hi! Little dogs aren't exempt. It's initiation. Once sniffed all the dogs will usually go away or entice to play. read more

Nice, big park. Clean, dog stations, water fountain and benches. Dogs of all sizes, ours has fun socializing with the other dogs. We come around the evenings when it's cooler. There are maybe 15-20 dogs around that time. Overall, it's a great place for dogs to roam free off leash. read more

Nice big dog park WITH GRASS and some things to do for dogs. It is well taken care of, has water fountains for dogs and owners and waste bags for the dogs everywhere. When we went there were only two other dogs, but we were told there are usually more people with dogs there. Great park with lots of friendly wagging tails after 7pm on most week days. My monstrous German shepard puppy was the youngest but largest dog there when we first went. He received a warm welcome and sniff from all the other furr-babies. There is plastic bags there should their for when nature calls. There's also a water fountain for the thirstiest of pups. I'd recommend a quick scrub and refill of the bowls before letting your pet drink to minimize any possible stomach issues later. A great park for running and chasing balls. read more

This is probably the only dog park in Yuma that I have found. Looking it up from Google will take you to the wrong entrance (residential side that requires a key code) but it is a public park. Very large, shaded seating areas, and water fountains for the pups. Very well kept park. read more
