There is also a side, smaller area for toddlers with smaller slides, swings, climbing tubes, etc. Along the perimeter there is a traditional zip line and one with a chair. The park has bathrooms, picnic tables under a large pavilion, a play ground, and a sandy beach. There's even an outdoor shower for cleaning off the sand when you're done. On an August weekday around noon, there were multiple families at the park to lounge and swim. The bridge provides ample shade for sitting on the beach or swimming in the water. The water was clear and looked clean. Some kids had tied a rope swing to the bridge and were swing jumping into the water - so fun! Yuma is HOT and frankly quite ugly, without much to offer the passerby outside of food, fuel, and the prison (also worth a stop!!). Gateway Park is an exception - a beautiful spot and a great break point for the weary traveler. Bring swimsuits - you won't just want to dip your feet in!

When we arrived at Mittry Lake they were already there waiting for us and by the time we walked from the car to the ramp the kayaks were ready for us to hop in. This was the first time for a couple of us so it was really nice that Leto's made sure that we knew the basics and made sure to answer all of our questions before we took off. The lake is beautiful! Very peaceful and relaxing! It's really nice at the boat ramp, there is a huge covered picnic area with several tables and bbqs. The only thing I would change about our recent kayaking trip with Leto's is upping the 2 hour rental that we had and reserving them for longer! Such a great company and amazing experience. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!

The kayaks were of excellent quality and much better than typical rentals. Owner Dale was also super helpful and accommodating for us. We had a super fun time kayaking at the south end of the Colorado River with lots of interesting channels making you feel like you were exploring the jungle of the Amazonas at times. This is the most fun place I think I have ever kayaked. If you want to have a great time kayaking, this is the place for sure and if you need to rent this is the place to get rentals.

The lasers weren't on during the day, but the small train was in great condition and we were able to board the cabin. Located in the northeast corner of the Hilton Garden Inn property, Pivot Point sits above Gateway Park. The parking lot says it is only for the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center so we probably broke some trespassing law. (Thankfully, the Territorial Prison no longer takes inmates.) It's a quick 5 minute visit, but it's also free.

The Pacific Ave Athletic Complex (PAAC) went up about a month or so ago, and triggered my curiousity after seeing the construction, plus how it's lit up at night while baseball games go on...hmmm...let's check it out. Went there mid morning...here's what I saw... - Ample parking - A man-made lake with rentable gazebo's by it - Nicely kept baseball fields, electronic scoreboards, very tall fence-thingies (sorry, I'm writing this review late at night)...the places to sit were like concrete slabs...but decent! And under some sort of shade -An age appropriate playing area - A shaded snack area (no ATM's, maybe cash only) - Plenty of overhead lights for those night games Reviews on Google say no outside food allowed or they have certain fees...not sure about that. I guess people don't mind as it seems busy on evenings and nights. Yuma needed this so...here it is. Worth checking out.

Heated pool, palm trees.... It is the first one that I have seen to have a resort host for after hours. Skye and her husband Peter are an awesome couple to make you feel right at home. Los Algodones is so close and an excellent place to buy cheaper meds or dental work if you need it. Personally, I enjoyed the rich culture of the town and chose to buy their handmade items. The weather is always sunny in Yuma. Make sure you visit Mittry Lake. Just beautiful.....Excellent Mexican food and barbecue. Territorial Historic Prison, rich in history!
