My favorite place for fall activities with friends or family. I visit this orchard at least twice a year. Took my parents here recently on a Tuesday afternoon for apply picking and we had such a a great time. You buy your tickets at the front. The staff are always friendly, they kindly explain all the prices and any other questions that we have. We were told where to wait for the ride/tractor to the apple field. Didn't take long at all! The driver that day was the sweetest lady! She was informative and told us which apple was her favorite and what to look out for. Going to any orchard can be pricey but Westview is worth it! They keep this place tidy and fun for all visitors.. already made plans with a few other friends so I'll will be back in a few days (they also have best cornmaze btw). Came here on a fieldtrip with the little ones. They seemed to like it but it was a long day in the sun. The playground was cute for them, I liked the basketball hoop and the underground tubes they could crawl through. They had a chance to feed the animals, but I did not get much time over there this time. They loved the very large slide. There is a hay bale for the kids to jump around, but the images online look like it might be several tiers, but on this day it was only two and the kids told me there were a lot of hole. The tractor ride was fun. Since it is summer, I did not see anything to pick yet, but it looked like they will have a bunch for fruits and vegetables in the fall. There is a large area for the kids to have lunch, some of it was covered. I did not have a chance to check out the store, wine section, or anything outside the kid area. I did not try any cider, but we had cinnamon sugar donuts. I only had one bite and gave the rest to my child, but it was very delicious and fairly large. It tasted nice and fresh. I wonder if the donuts are this large in the fall. There was an outdoor concession stand. They sold drinks and treats, the turnovers looked delicious. My child got a cider/ blue raspberry slush, it was a very hot day so it was good they sold them. I liked that they had real bathrooms with running water. But I wish they had a better water filling station for the kids. They were getting very hot and the only places to fill their water was the bathroom sink or next to the animals and they were not excited about either of those options. Plus, the kids were very little, so they did not have money from home to buy cold waters. The people working here seemed nice and seemed to have experience with fieldtrips with little kids. I am not sure if I will come back and bring the rest of my family, but if I do, it would be on a weekend in the Fall to check out the rest of their offerings. read more

We are in town for the Tigers home ALDS playoff games and had some time to kill before game 4. No better time than now to go apple picking! We arrived around noon on a Thursday. We thought it would probably be pretty dead being in the middle of a school day, but we didn't account for the schools that bring kids on field trips. Wow. These high school/junior high kids made check in very stressful. They must not teach proper line etiquette in school anymore. Finally a worker stepped up and took control to make the line move more effectively and keeping kids from constantly jumping in line with their friends. We were so thankful for her as we were really running out of patience. Once we got all checked in (bought of apple picking bag and wristbands), it was timed perfectly with the wagon arriving to take us to the Apple picking fields. Our driver was so friendly and gave clear instructions on how to find the best apples. The wagon circles every 25 minutes and they even have a porta potty at the pick up site. After we finished apple picking, we got to explore farm animals, a large straw mountain, a kids play area. They also had u-pick pumpkins, but we are saving that for another weekend. We couldn't leave without stopping by their market. They had so many flavors of donuts and flips, apple cider. We will have apple foods to eat for awhile! Defiantly worth a stop! I usually visit this orchard every year when cherries are in season. This year was no exception. It's a bit of a drive but there's nothing like picking fresh cherries straight off the tree. There is ample parking and a good amount of rows of cherry trees to pick from. They do have ladders that you can climb at your own discretion to get to the cherries that are higher up the trees. These are usually bigger and darker. I do wish there was a better way to carry the cherries once you've picked them versus risking them falling out of your carton as you're walking. We also pick fresh raspberries. It takes a bit longer to get to these because you have to take a wagon to the back of the orchard. As these were just coming into season, they weren't as sweet as the cherries. And of course, if you come, visiting the bakery to partake in the fresh cherry, strawberry, and blueberry donuts is an almost must. I get at least a half dozen every time I come. They also have specialty donuts like Oreo, Heath, M&M, and a variety of others. These sell out fast though and once they're sold out for the day, they don't make any more. So, be sure to visit the bakery early to choose from the best selection. They also have a winery with a variety of fruit wines. All in all, I'm a fan and plan to continue to make my yearly visit. read more

This place was a great time. So many activities and so much acreage. They have a petting zoo, apple picking, pumpkin picking and a winery! Fresh donuts, apple cider and baked goods on site although the donuts were a HOT COMMODITY. They sold other delicious pies, cake, crumbles and bread. We had a blast here and would totally recommend. It was 47$ for me and my daughter to get to play in the play area, and a small bag of apples for her and I to pick with access to the orchard. Traveled about 40 minutes to have everything for kids and entertainment gated off. Anything you want to do you have to pay to get into. Even to see the goats you have to pay 5$. Not worth it. Only thing outside the fenced area is donuts and cider. read more

First of all, the workers were VERY rude. The one guarding the tractors was very rude, we didn't know where we were supposed to get bags and she was very rude about it. And then the tractor driver added to it by pretty much yelling at us. After we had bought the bags, we got back in line and got back on the tractor the lady had started talking bad about us. FYI they changed the donuts and we were very disappointed. They are no longer served hot and fresh but in plastic containers that are already packaged. Compared to last year when they are served fresh in a brown bag (you can compare my picture from last year). The cider is good. We probably won't be back. Go here for the activities. A good place for kids to burn off a lot of energy. Most of the attractions have a bit of danger involved. if a kid falls while climbing up the hay bale, pyramid, they could get hurt. They have a giant slide that's gotta be 30 feet tall. It's made of a long, plastic sewer pipe, connected to a tower of stairs. It's fine for a small kids, but teenagers and adults can pick up a lot of speed, and there were a few wipeouts at the bottom. This review is for the apple cider only. Their donuts and pastries also rate 5 stars! What makes the apple cider so special? The taste is pure apple because it's not pasteurized or treated with chemicals. I can't prove it, but I think most cider mills use all the apples including those off the ground. These mills rely on pasteurizing to kill off any bad stuff unfortunately it also affects the taste. Westview picks the apples off the tree and will tell you what variety is currently being used. read more

The line here was long but it moved along well enough. There's lots of picnic tables and some music playing outside. The kids fun line is even longer. The plain doughnut is reasonably price. It was $1.10 for a single donut. The small cider and donut was $3.22, not inexpensive but not outrageous considering this is our 7th cider mill today. The plain donut isn't bad, not super crispy or crunchy on the outside, the dough is a bit dense, but flavor isn't bad. The cider tasted average, was nice and warm and soothing, but didn't have a ton of flavor. Had the longest lines here, activities for kids here seem decent and a lot of land here for lots of folks. read more

My sister and I were on our way home from the Peach festival when we decided to check out the winery at Westview Orchards. We entered via the silo and took a steep winding walk up to the top level of the barn. We laughed knowing this is one time when going up steep stairs will be easier than going down (post wine consumption, LOL). Upon entering we were instantly hit with the warm that came from the ambiance. Pretty lights, lots of space, happy people, things to look at and buy, it was a great vibe from the get-go. We each ordered a wine flight. My sister got a wine slushy, hard cider and a popular white wine. I opted for a red blend and two white wines. My wines were all very smooth and tastey. My sister especially liked her wine slushy. Afterwards we fed the goats and purchased some donuts from the store. I'll be back to the winery with some friends. read more

Not the greatest at communication - tried calling (only once though) no answer and reached out via Facebook messaging and no response. They do update their facebook page with posts talking about what's going on, so I would check that for updates. Not many places offer u-pick apples during a weekday, so a plus if you're looking for something to do on a day off or looking to escape the crowds. Each person over 12 is considered a picker if you go out to the apple orchards and needs to get a bag. Minimum is $10 for a half peck. That can add up if you have a family of 5. During weekdays only they were offering filling a veggie tray for $10 (peppers, etc.) The apple cider is unpasteurized. Quart for $5. They don't sell it by the cup. Plain/cinnamon donuts are $1.10 each. Other fancier donuts (like bacon bits and chocolate frosted) Are more expensive. Apple pie is $17 which is a little steep compared to other places. There's honey (~$10) and fruits as well. You need to pay separately for family fun (see their website). Overall prices are on par with the more 'well known' orchards/cider mills in the area, but you can find better prices at smaller places. Good option for apple picking during weekdays. read more

Westview is a such a fun little orchard. Normally, all the hype goes to the larger orchards around Michigan, but there is something special about the quaint setting of Westview. They have a fun area for kids to run and play and a small animal farm. The property encompasses a few areas for purchasing cider, donuts, and all the yummy Michigan made goodies. I really like their winery; the wine slushy is my favorite. They have a wagon ride out to the orchard and you are able to pick some apples or cut some fresh flowers in the beautiful fields. I attended the Sunflower Festival and it was a perfect backdrop for pictures. If you happen to be out in this area, Westview is a must stop on your travels. read more

We came here on a Saturday night in January to hang out in the winery, and I throughly enjoyed our evening here. We got there right as it was opening so there wasn't a crowd at all and we were able to enjoy the whole place to ourselves for a bit. There was trivia that night so we did play a few rounds of that. We had a really good time. For me, the wines weren't my favorite, but I bet someone likes them. Great produce and a large variety all year long. They have a lot of activities going on and they have a nice winery with light food entrées that are delicious. Wine tasting is always fun and this is a very unique Winery. Happy friendly people eager to accommodate you. They have a very unique set up where you enter the Winery through the Silo and go up inside a long staircase and then, when you get to the doorway, you go down some stairs into the winery. Also, for people who can't walk up a staircase or for handicap, they have a ramp going directly into the winery at the other end. read more

The owner, while surely overwhelmed with stacks of money to count, should pay attention to these reviews. While I work today, my wife and her sister took 5 kids to enjoy a place we go every year. Short version: You are pricing yourself out of the market and insulting your annual customers. Charging for the wagon ride to pick pumpkins whereas it was always free? Stupid idea. But once people drive to get there, they will probably just pay. Charging AGAIN for a ride to PICK APPLES?? Ludicrous. And then there were the skyrocketing prices. It's everywhere, I get it, but still, the paying TWICE to ride a tractor? $18 per pumpkin. While YOU want to make more money, you forget EVERY one of your customers is already stretching their budget. We will go elsewhere next time. read more

I love this orchard. It is one of my fave for donuts and cider. There is a small walk through where you can watch cider being mashed and bottled. I don't have kids, so I've never done those activities. The wine room is great. I went there, had a flight, and bought some wine. The pies are crazy good and my husband loves the fruit flips. FAMILY FUN DAY! FAMILY FUN! I came here with my sister and 9 year-old niece Saturday morning. We decided on trekking out further north because we were going to Lake Huron and they claimed to have more stuff than the Franklin Cider Mill. Their claim was right. Though, it does not come exactly cheap. $9 to do all of the fun-filled activities. $14 to pick a peck of apples. $5 for 10 minutes of freaking pony riding. REALLY?! Why is nature so freaking expensive these days? I've never gone apple picking so this was a treat. Depending on the season, you can pick anything from strawberries, peaches, cherries to pumpkins in the fall. To kill time because the tractor takes 20 minutes to come back and forth into the apple orchards, we decided to fork over the duckets for some family fun adventure time. They have an indoor maze that was labeled some kind of black hole maze. My niece was scared and I was jumping up and down enthusiastically to go inside. It was not scary. It was the entire 'Star Wars' soundtrack I think from 'Attack of the Clones' played inside of a dark room with disco balls, a strobe light and planks of black wood nailed up to try and trick you into getting lost. Which you'd have to be 5 to get lost in. IT WAS SO FREAKIN AWESOME in the bad/funny kind of way. There was a petting zoo as well which accommodated pens for two asses, a pony, a herd of goat and sheep, chickens & roosters, and a couple of Cornish hens. Dirty beasts. They were more calm than I expected them to be. There's also a playground, a giant stack of hay to roll down, tires to climb through, an enormous slide made out of tires that I totally went down. Then of course there is the little bakery hosting shelves of jars of jams and various pickled things and condiments, pies, cider donuts, and cider. I think they also make fudge and ice cream here but we went with the cider and donuts because its that time of year and it was 40 degrees when I woke up. The apple picking was fun. You definitely get your money's worth by filling up that sack. Also, don't be shy at sampling a few because you might get a 'bad apple'. I bet Halloween is awesome here as well. read more

This was our first trip to Westview; we were not disappointed. We got there closer to 5 and they close at 6, but they were not out of the cinnamon sugar donuts. After all, what else is a cider mill really about?? They were delicious! This is also an awesome place for little kids. My daughter loved all the goats and donkeys and the other animals there. We climbed to the mountain of hay and overall had an awesome time here. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have to wait around for anything as I'm sure all their customers were mostly gone for the day. We will be back!! read more

Love the wine and the products here. Kids love it. But God forbid you want to buy wine from the little market up front. They have teens who can't sell alcohol at the registers. They are pleasant and good workers, no doubt. They have to call their boss to come and complete alcohol transactions. Nothing necessarily wrong with that process, i get it. Don't have an issue with that law. But they have been unable to get ahold of their boss the 3 separate times today that I have come to purchase wine, I waited for nearly 10 minutes each occasion, and now it's my kids nap time and we have to go home. Was hoping to buy their Hot Rod and Washington White, which are exceptional! But no of-age adult was apparently available anywhere in the vicinity to assist with my purchase so, I left empty handed. So something in that process needs to be fixed to avoid that frustrating situation in the future read more

I used to come here every year but this is the last time i went to this crap place. First of all they have removed not 1 or 2 but rows and rows of cherry trees. Completely gone. You call this joke of a place now cherry picking and charge arm and a leg for it? It should be called find a cherry tree. On top of that they have cut all low hanging branches and you can't even get to most of the cherries even with a ladder. To add more insult they give you this useless small box to fit all your cherries and charge $9 each per person. The box size is exactly as big as you get strawberries in at a regular store. Give me a break! I asked them to give a bigger bag and they said they will give a slightly bigger one for $25 each? Are you kidding me? I can buy a whole carton of cherries from sam's club cheaper than that! And you want to know the best stupid part? They rented out half of there parking lot to a dealership as there were 50 cars parked all of the same model at the end. There greed has just ruined the cherry picking experience for me and my family. There are better farms out there and this is definitely not the one. Never again! read more

Went for Line Dancing Lessons on a Saturday evening. This was held upstairs in the barn. They were selling a 3-flat of red or white wine for $8, not bad, and they had these wurpies (wine slurpies) for $6, that were PHE-NOM-I-NAL! I will go back for these alone. read more
