My roommate and I were on the way back to NYC after spending Christmas in Michigan with my family, and we discovered a slow tire leak after a few hours of driving. We happened to find Westside Tire just from seeing what was close to us on Google Maps, and we definitely lucked out! They were able to get the tire examined and patched in a little under an hour, and we were back on the road quickly (and it was only $30). I was ready to pay for a new tire if needed, and their honesty and integrity by just patching it rather than replacing it is greatly appreciated. The wonderful service here honestly turned around everything about that day, and we made it back to NYC safely about 7 hours later. While we may not find ourselves back in this area again (I'm not hoping for another tire leak...), if you're nearby and end up here, you won't be disappointed. read more

Had new brake pads, paid almost one thousand. Brakes screamed all the time, just when wet they were not as loud. Took car back about the noise, They told me that I do not drive the car enough and it was because of rust. took the car to another repair shop, was a piece of medal on the break pad. No more noise. Will never be back and do not recommend. Had me drop off my car Thursday morning 8am to see why my check engine light was on. Was having zero problems with the car besides the mysterious dashboard light. Didn't hear from them until I gave them a call to check in at 3pm, said they were still figuring out the issue. Didn't hear from them again until I went back at 5:15 because I know they close at 5:30 and they couldn't give me a definitive answer as to why my check engine light was on and said that I could take my car however it might stall out on my way home because it might be a problem with my alternator or my battery. I asked why they hadn't called me to let me know sooner and they said they had sent a text. I never received it. He sent it again to check and I did receive the text the second time. So, either it wasn't sent earlier in the day like they thought, or they actually never sent it. Regardless, I'd expect a call to let me know what was happening with my vehicle, or at least a call to let me know that they haven't figured out the issue and would suggest having them keep the car another day. At that point I felt that I had no choice but to leave my car there considering there was no definitive answer as to what was wrong and the caution against driving it. Felt like I was being blamed for not receiving the text and also felt like my time was wasted. The next day they say it is in fact the alternator that's the problem. Quote me $900.00 for part and labor, including $125.00 diagnostic fee. Everyone I know said this price is outrageous so I called around to all local shops and wouldn't you know they all quoted at least $300.00 less out the door. I decide to pay the diagnostic fee and take my car somewhere else. When I arrive I find my car with the hood not fully closed. Doors unlocked, sitting in their lot. They also left the trash bag they used to sit on to protect my seats on the seat. Oh, and my left tail light is now no longer working. Overall and awful experience, unfortunately. I thought I had found a shop I could trust because of my previous experience there getting my summer tires put on. Disappointed. read more

Bought four new tires from West side ,made a trip to Florida & return had a popping sound in the steering returned to West side for a diagnosis was told it was rack & pinion steering.Charged 42.33 for the estimate of 1622.00 for two new steer tires,rack & pinion! The new rack 231.99 at o'reillys west side wanted 475.00 for the same part & 454.00 labor to install! I know you have to make money to stay in business,but marking up an item a100% is a bit much!When i first went thought i had found a place that we could take our cars & be treated fairly! I have purchased tires from west side tire exclusively for the past 30+ years. we have purchased tires and had some front end work done on some of the cars. This is the case for at least 5 different vehicles. i recently purchased a new Ford F150 truck and had an extremely slow leak resulting from a nail in the tire. I located the nail and would have normally repaired it myself but it was the middle of this winter. i took the truck in, showed the Niles folks where the nail was in the tread, and they plugged the hole. unfortunately i feel that the $50+ that i was charged is ridiculous and unreasonable and is simply a money grab because i know what is involved in the procedure. The only HONEST mechanics around. Went in for a steering problem and turned out that instead of power steering pump or a new rack and pinion, it was only the power steering belt that needed replaced. They did quality work, and gave me a ride back and forth to the house while I waited on my repair. Excellent service and would highly recommend!! I have always took all my vehicles to west side tire while living in Youngstown. Never had a problem. But once I moved and took my car to the dealership because of a transmission fluid leak that caused my car to slip in traffic and the dealership (along with two other dealerships) told me the leak was caused by work that west side tire did and I was able to prove it. They then got very rude and telling me that BOTH BMW DEALERSHIPS WERE WRONG. Very disappointed and will not recommend them for any work because they will not stand by there mistakes. read more

!988 Thunderbird. Had them do shocks and coil springs on the rear. They did a good job. I will be going to them for more repairs on my antique and other vehicles I have. It's hard to find honest auto repair companies. As for the Austintown facility, they seem honest and reliable. read more

I went here for brake work. First, they were at least 90$ cheaper than every where else i called. Also, they got me in the next morning. Finally, it turned out i didn't need brake pads and it was free. This was after it was on the lift with the wheels off. I know a lot of shops wouldn't have done this. This is going to be my new mechanic from now on. I highly recommend them. read more
