This is a true "hole in the wall, gotta know someone who has been there to know about it" type of restaurant. They've been in that location for 19 years but first thing to know is there is no dine in option and if you blink, you'll pass right by it. You walk in, there's the order/pick up counter and a couple chairs to sit in to wait for your order, a jukebox that says "do not touch" and a soda fridge. But don't fret, the ribs are worth picking up or having delivered. Fresh, succulent, "cut it with a spoon" tender and meaty ribs. Very good sauce covering everything and I don't say this lightly. I usually eat my ribs sauceless or with just a little to dip in to but not this time. All my fingers and half my face got sauced and I didn't care. The sides were as noteworthy as the ribs. Delicious, moist, cheesy homemade (or good as homemade if it was store bought) mac & cheese and baked beans cooked to perfection. The only things that held up the fifth star was 1. Their sliced beef. It was fatty and drenched in bbq sauce like they were hiding their sliced beef shame in it, 2. The service was slow. I called in the order, was told 15 minutes, I arrived 30 mins later and they hadn't even started putting the order together. I ended up waiting an additional 15 mins while they prepared the order, and 3. Their hours are a little selective. Make sure you check the hours on the day you go. All of this is forgivable though because what they do right, they do RIGHT!! And they definitely do ribs right. Sorry, I failed to capture any pictures. read more

So presentation is everything and when the server opened our container I was taken back, because you couldn't really see the meat because it was covered in so much sauce which is actually a turnoff.. you generally accept food and like food mostly by the way it looks and how it's presented to you... they can do a much better job ...the meat was okay but the sauce was not good at all ...they should give you the sauce on the side... the sides were okay but I'm not sure if I will go there again read more

We've had Bbq from here twice. Last time my sister in law went to order in person and because not every type of meat was cooked and available yet, she had to go back later. I understand that Bbq takes some time, but if you open at a certain time and let people order from your whole menu, then at that time everything should be available. The items I tried from here so far, were sliced beef, ribs and rib tips. Didn't care for the rib tips, but the sliced beef was juicy and tender, same goes for the ribs. They just about fell off the bone. I also tried the baked beans, they were okay. Did not like the taste of the potato salad. The sides are also pretty small. If you order the plates, you'll also get a little ziploc baggy with two slices of white bread. read more

The bbq chicken was absolutely delicious to me. Husband gave them a 4. The bbq ribs were so good, but sauce was a bit watery for us. Still had really good flavor and the meat was juicy and tender. After a few years living in the city I decided to give this place a chance. It's a to-go place and no place to eat inside and that's never an issue as long as the food comes out promptly. The customer service was great I got to meet the owner and his son and they were both very nice. The interior look a little outdated and could use some freshening up. There was a small coffee table with some ornaments on it that could be removed and add an extra chair for waiting. They have an old jukebox that seem unnecessary since there's no indoor dining and it wasn't turned on. Now for the food the ribs where well smoked had and it gave you that campfire flavor. I would rank it an 8 out of 10 just because it had a little too much sauce. Then I got the potato salad which was very Tangy and not to my preference. I would rank that as a five out of 10 and I don't think I would ever order it again. I also got the mac and cheese that was made fresh out of the oven. The Mac was very creamy and had flavor but not extremely cheesy. So that I would give a six out of 10. The portions were okay but the price were pretty steep. Three ribs and two sides and two slices of wheat bread came out to $26. I would come back here again for the barbecue but not for the sides. They deleted my first review because they gave such bad service and disgusting food, I was not going to let that happen to anyone else again. My Red Snapper was clearly Catfish because of the dark skin that was on the underside of the fish. The people are not professional and apparently it is an inconvenience when someone walks in to pick up their order. I usually don't write reviews, but man after going to this place and trying out their food.. I HAD TO! Food was AMAZING and ran by a mom and pop. Service was amazing and the ambiance was real friendly and comfortable. The owner Darrell let us try a piece of their BBQ before purchasing and we just had to get a rack of ribs after getting a sample on the house. Now here's a breakdown of the food: PORK and BEEF ribs are killer! The sauce is handcrafted and you can really taste the smokey flavor. We got Mac n Cheese, Collard greens, and hushpuppies and they were all so good. We thought the 16 oz was enough for a family of 4, but we should've gotten more cause it was super good. The beef was tender, but the bbq sauce on the sandwich was not well seasoned. Next time I would ask for hot or very hot to get some depth. The rib tips were also good, just not fall of the bone good. I been looking for a BBQ spot ever since I moved here from the Los Angeles area. I tried the internet and word of mouth to no avail only to discover it the old fashion way, where there is smoke, there is BBQ. They weren't open yet but someone on staff came out and spoke with me and told me they would be opening shortly. I noticed that they brought back customers service that I had been accustomed to. I all the meats that I wanted that day and found them to be excellent, I especially liked the ribs. This is not an eat in spot but the people in the area know it and the staff and make it the spot to catch up on events in the community. Since I've been working out here, I've been trying to find good barbecue. Yelp did not feel in recommending this restaurant. The restaurant failed itself in all other ways. I was excited to try this restaurant in which Yelp touted good BBQ. When I showed up on a Wednesday afternoon, there was a young man standing at the door looking in. I watch them knock, look at the passenger in his car, then shrug his shoulders. I then got out of my car to see that the restaurant was closed in the middle of the day, during working hours. It's not like this place was around the corner. Both of us were hot! On a mission, I returned again two days later. I was happy to find it open. There were already three patrons ahead of me, and a happy engaging man who ran the front of the store. I come back just to engage with him. I ordered some mild Q. Brisket and ribs. The mac and cheese was good. The barbecue was good, not slamming, but good. The speed of service was slow. The price was gouging , as most BBQ restaurants. We got lunch from here today, it was our first time. I was looking so forward to some good bbq and potato salad. I have no idea what type of meat my rib tips were. Any way, the were very fatty, chewy and bones in every piece they also had a weird flavor and aroma. Potato salad had way too much vinegar and not tasty. The hush puppies were good. Very sad because I was so excited to eat here. Gotta say I won't be back. We showed up a few minutes after 12:00 when they open, and was told to come back in an hour. I was excited when I pulled up and saw the bbq pit going, smelling great and what not. Unfortunately, I wasn't there for the bbq but for the fish. Ordered the catfish dinner and it was rather disappointing. You ever go to a spot that sells fried catfish and the catfish, looks like catfish, is fried in cornmeal but the texture is rather spongy and just doesn't taste like the best catfish you've known of? That's the catfish you get here. It's something I've only experienced before from places that sold catfish as an afterthought to crawfish and everything else, but it was a shock to find it here being sold and cooked by my people. I read an article a while back about how fish is usually incorrectly labeled and when experiements were done, what people thought they were getting was in fact, far off from the fish they thought they were eating and in one case those in the study were actually eating a parasite. Since then, when I come across this spongy stuff they try to pass off as catfish, I get immediately disgusted. I didn't finish eating the fish, ate 1 1/2 out of 6 pieces. Could've been better but the guy at the register barely even wanted to give me any hot sauce, I got one tup that was half filled with hot sauce. My sides were hush puppies and mac n cheese. The hush puppies were good. As the reviewer under me mentioned, the mac n cheese is not fresh, more pepper than cheese. You would find better mac n cheese at Church's Chicken. Gave this place a try and am sadly disappointed. The good thing is that I didn't get to place a second order for the red snapper lunch-since they were no longer doing lunch.
