I've had over half a dozen items done by these guys and they're excellent! They have a large selection of frame options and are great at helping find something that works well with each piece. Koyes especially has a good eye for things and has helped make my collection look really great! read more

I took a really good lithograph there to be framed. I got a deal on Groupon so I figured I would try it. The man who said he was a framer for over 20 years. I didn't really like what he picked out but that was more a matter of taste and style. It was large frame and cost $375 with a groupon made it $100 less. When I picked it up yesterday with my friend, before we left the store my friend said, "look at he corners". The frame was not finished properly and there were marks from the gold leaf in the recesses of the frame. I was not thrilled. The man in the store was not the one I originally dealt with and he fixed it up as best he could. He told me that the corner cardboard pieces they used were not professional and took the finish off of the corners because they were too tightly placed. So why do they use them? I was glad my friend was with me because the man running the store was ready to let me leave without looking at the corners (lesson learned) and had I gotten home and found it unfinished I would have been very upset. Although both shopkeepers were very nice, I would definitely NOT use them again unless it was for something small and simple. read more

I'm confused about the high ratings for this shop...then again many of the reviews are old. I recently bought a Living Social deal to get a wedding photo framed here. Came in, picked a frame, left the photograph, and went on my way. The framing was done in a reasonable amount of time, and they called to let me know my picture was ready for pick up. From this point on is where my experience went downhill. When I came back to pick up the photo (which, by the way, was quite a trek, as I don't live or work close to this shop), the photo was completely off center in the frame. This to me was a completely unacceptable mistake. I'm not talking off by a couple centimeters. More like off by a couple of inches. If you can't trust a frame shop to CENTER a photo in the frame, who can you trust? The man working at the time said he didn't think they could fix it, but he would talk to his colleague and get back to me. Didn't make sense to me that they couldn't fix it, all they would need to do would be to shift the photo in the frame, trimming the photo if necessary. But anyway, went home empty-handed. Got another call from the store several days later, and the man on the phone said they could fix the mistake, and that it would take a week. I waited a week with no response. When I finally called them again to check up, the man who picked up the phone said nonchalantly, "Yes we have it here." If you had it why didn't you call me, like you said you would? I asked if it would be possible for them to send the framed photo over to me by messenger - I didn't want to make another fruitless trip over to the store if I was going to leave empty-handed, and even if they had fixed it this time, it was their fault I had to go back in the first place. The man on the phone refused, saying it was too expensive ($25-$30), and that they need to make money, too. First off, I want to say that I totally get that this is a small business and they need to make money to keep the business going, but maybe if they completed their jobs correctly on the first try, things like this wouldn't happen. Secondly, they clearly do not have an understanding of the power of customer service. Owning up to your mistakes and doing what you can to make the customer happy pays off in the long run. Their gruffness didn't bother me at the time, but in retrospect after everything else, it certainly detracts from their rating. Really not looking forward to dealing with this store again when I have to go pick up my picture. read more

These guys do such a great job as such a great price! I had them frame a whole bunch of menus and they look gorgeous! I would definitely recommend! read more

Using a Groupon I brought two documents to be framed at this location. As one was a degree and the other a corresponding license, I wanted frames that complemented each other. I was assisted by a gentleman who took my suggestions and improved on them, settling on two frames that I was happy with. This was my first time custom framing, so I had no preconceived notions on how much to spend. That said, the total was around $270, and he had no issues with my GroupOn and subtracted $100. I left a deposit and was called a week later. The framing was excellent and they packed it carefully for me to take home. All in all, I was very happy with the service here. read more

Great Chelsea neighborhood framer. Always friendly and usually gets my art back to me in less than a week. I've framed quite a few paintings and photos here, and the owner is very helpful picking out frames. Also was able to get my very large work of art delivered to my office in Midtown East for $40! read more

Bought a painting in Mexico City and needed it restretched and framed. Brought it in to Westside Frame shop (using a Groupon!) and was given fantastic service. The owner was really helpful--got down lots of frame options (we must have looked at 20!) and even advised me on how to get the look I was going for at a cheaper price. Very impressed with the customer service! The painting was even ready a few days earlier than he quoted. Very happy with this place. Will go back for future frames. Highly recommend for others. read more

I am an artist. I have worked with this framer( Koyess Ahmed) for over 15 years. He has done all my framing when I have exhibitions, or when I sell artwork to people. He is very conscientious about his work, and has a performance ethic that is rarely found today: he WANTS to do excellent framing. He is therefore a standout in an industry where you can get ten different price quotes for a custom job in a single day. The job is always completed as promised and on time. If anything is wrong-it will be re-done.I highly recommend this store. read more

A++++++++ framer and great owner. Fantastic work and a pleasure to work with. I just dropped off five pieces to be mounted and framed and remembered I had a piece completed years ago that I never picked up. He spent 20 minutes searching and actually found it. Great place and great people to bring your business to. read more

Overall an excellent experience. The man who helped me on Saturday night was very nice and gave me a lot of suggestions for framing my diploma and license. I've never framed anything professionally before so it was nice to have someone guide me through the process. The prices were reasonable and they honored the groupon I purchased. I would recommend this shop. read more

-1 Star for mediocre customer service. -1 Star for limited selections on smaller frames and mats*. I needed a simple frame for a certificate. My frame came up to be $130 but the representative was not too happy when I presented my $100 LivingSocial voucher. He wasn't much help to being with. The frame came out the way it should, but because there was only a limited selection of smaller frames and mats, I didn't really get what I came in for. Overall, Westside Frame Shop is worth a visit ONLY if you have a voucher from LivingSocial ($30 for $100). read more

Excellent service, very fast turn-around on my diplomas. I was served by two different gentlemen, each of whom was kind and helpful. Groupon just sweetened the deal. Don't hesitate to bring your job here - mine was midrange but they offer both affordable and museum-quality options. read more

good quality work, on the cheaper side, friendly staff and fast. When one of the staff members and I discussed the framing, he dropped wood on my picture, which left a mark. This was an accident but should not happen. read more

I got a LivingSocial Deal for this place and I'm so happy I did. I think I spent a total of an hour talking to the owner over the few times that I've come by because he is such a pleasure to speak with. He has a great selection of frames and knows the custom framing market in the city very well. I recently went to Michael's and while they did a nice job framing my print, their prices are inflated (which I honestly believe is partly why they're able to do deals for up to 60% off of their custom frames all year round). I needed a 4' x 5' print stretched over wood - while Michael's quoted me about $430, at Westside Frame Shop I was able to get the job done for $305. They did a wonderful job and frankly I'd rather support the small business owner, regardless of the fact that it's so much less expensive! Highly highly recommend this place for to your custom framing jobs! read more

Needed a canvas to be stretched across a frame. Good experience and quick turnaround. Will come back

I've been back quite a few times to get different pieces framed. Staff is always friendly and very professional. Definitely recommended!

Very nice and helpful. Good quality work, fair prices, quick service.

I got the perfect frames at Westside for these old art history card catalog prints I found at a library sale. I am more happy with these two artworks than any other works I have had framed and I get a lot of artwork framed. The team listened to what combinations I wanted then made great suggestions and helped me pick out the perfect mat and frame, while respecting my budget restrictions and taking good care of the delicate paper prints. I will certainly be taking all of my masterpieces to Westside from here on out. read more

Went in to get a quote, but once I said I wanted to use a Google Offer, they hiked the price up $25. Not impressed!

Used a Groupon voucher here - had some discrepancy over the use of the coupon (framer insisted I couldn't buy more than one frame with the voucher) then jacked the prices up so I had to spend more for two small pieces. The price was reised three times - form the initial call to my first visit to a follow up call. Owner was a pleasure to deal with but didn't like the fact that I ended up spending more than the value of the voucher just because they needed to charge for labour costs (no mention of this additional charge on their site or on Groupon). read more

great frame shop, I went to have 4 pictures framed, 3 of them quite large, and the owner made me a great price, even throwing in the more expensive frame for the cheaper price. very friendly service, great consultation and impeccable results. highly recommended, my go to place from now on. read more

What a wonderful frame shop! True professionals. Highly recommend you use Westside Frame Shop. I am in the gallery business and I can fully vouch for the proprietor and his still as a framer. He is polite, patient, and meticulous. I've been using him to frame everything from originals, to prints, to family photos these passed 12 years. read more

I LOVE this frame shop. Yes, it is a bit pricier than other places, but you get so much bang for your buck! I've had three pieces framed here in the last month or two and thought the service was great! The third piece was a scratch off map that I needed framed in a short period of time for a gift. The item itself was difficult to handle, because the framer could only touch the map on the edges (so as not to accidentally scratch off any part of the map). I initially brought the map in two days before I needed it. I went through the process of picking out a frame and matting (they were so helpful in this process, really trying out different frames and mattes and letting me hem and haw over it) and then pricing it out for me, but then decided I wasn't sure I wanted to frame it, so I said I would think about it and maybe do it after I gave the gift. The next day I changed my mind, so I went back in and asked if they could deliver it within 24 hours. Not only did they say yes and get it done in plenty of time, but they gave me the same price quoted the day before, which was awesome. I really appreciate how helpful they are in helping you choose how best to frame your product and in their timeliness in delivery. Great shop! I will definitely be back again! read more
