I set up an appointment with Dr. Markus through my health care provider. I wanted to discuss all my options concerning psoriasis. I have had psoriasis for 30 plus years. Dr. Markus explained to me all my options and we decided to see if my health care coverage would cover TR injections. After reading all about TR I decided not to do it. I contacted the office via email and Dr. Markus responded back to me twice. He referred me to another facility that does light treatment. Why I'm giving Westside 5 stars is because Dr. Markus called me back twice and was very understanding of my decision. He referred me elsewhere and wished me the best. I am very happy with Westside Dermatology. The staff and doctors are all very friendly and professional. I have seen both Dr. Markus and Dr. Arntzen and felt like both gave me excellent care. I have never waited more than a few minutes to get into my room and the Doctors usually come in within 5 minutes, which I like. They are very good at educating me on what is happening with my skin and offer a conservative approach to treatment. I also had a billing question and Dr. Markus called me back himself to explain what had happened. I was pleasantly surprised by his customer service. I don't get how people get in for an appointment here. I was a regular client for years and the past 6 months they haven't answered their phone once. I have called probably 15 times and left messages and they never call back. I have decided to go to a different dermatologist finally and am guessing they have lost quite a few clients and money because of this. Very strange. read more

Make your routine appointments well in advance if you want to see Dr. Kelli Arntzen--and you do, she's a top notch health care provider with excellent bedside manner. Her exams are thorough,she takes the time to explain everything she sees so I feel like I'm learning something every time I see her. Even awkward stuff doesn't feel awkward with her. Equally important: I've always felt listened to and cared for. Since my skin is pale and loves creating weird moles, I have yearly skin checks and feel like I've bonded with Dr. Arntzen over the years. Support staff can be hit or miss, especially at the reception desk. Don't let it deter you. read more

Just left without being seen. I was 8 minutes late for an appointment I scheduled weeks in advance and was told they cancelled my appointment and would "try" to fit me in. It would be at least an hour more in the waiting room. They said they schedule 3 patients per provider at the same time, which is clearly too many if they can't be flexible by 8 min. Just know in advance you can't be late here or they will skip you! Based on the provider's response I can only say that my review is the experience I had, and what I was told by the front desk staff (3 patients back in rooms waiting for one doctor), and after reading other reviews it seems time management is an issue at this clinic. If being less than 10 minutes late cancels your appointment that policy should be made clear upfront. My schedule didn't permit me to stay for an extra hour to see if I could be fit back in for an appointment. read more

Zero Stars. The clinic was bought by a California group. No one is available to answer the phone that is just on repeat to sell you cosmetic treatments, which isn't very helpful when you just want a medical appointment to have a mole looked at. Billing has never called me back about the $377 'surgery' charge to insurance that was a 10 second procedure of freezing off a spot (this procedure used to be $40) . No wonder insurance costs so much. Doctor spent maybe 12 minutes with me. Will be looking to see where my old provider Taj went. No wonder she left. read more

Would never recommend this establishment. I was most recently was seen in December and was and still am very concerned at the treatment I received... I had the doctor look at multiple concerns, there was NO follow up on the prescriptions she had prescribed.. I consistently called to try and follow up and speak with the PA I had seen (Taj) and never heard one PEEP back. She did not even do a mole check for me as somebody who's had multiple moles removed I find that very disturbing... As well as prescribing me an acne medication and no follow up... months later still have not heard one word back or any follow up I also emailed and never heard back to this day. Truly have never been so disappointed and will never go back to this establishment! Don't waste your time, I was rushed, overlooked and ignored. read more

Professionally, the doctors are knowledgeable, provide clear and precise feedback. You leave your appointment feeling well informed and with a solution in hand. Time management unfortunately is not quite as professional. Westside Dermatology fails to value their patient's time. Ever appointment I've ever made I have been on time and once in the examination room I have had to wait (in a robe) between 10 and 30 minutes before the doctor arrived. Today's wait was 22 minutes past my scheduled time. It appears Westside Dermatology is still working on their time management skills, holding little concern for any extended wait times and lacks any apology for the wait. One last note.. if you have a issue that you feel is urgent, and would like to see your main doctor....it is now normal to schedule out five months before you can see them. read more

Westside Dermatology is awesome. Before switching providers, I had been going to a dermatologist in Burien that was condescending and made me afraid of going to a dermatologist in the first place. My provider Taj Rock has been so respectful and has treated me like a human being while helping me tackle my chronic eczema issues that had gotten out of hand because I had been so anxious to be seen by a dermatologist. Whenever I had a question, Taj would always follow them up with a personal phone call. It really shows how much she truly cares about her patients. I've had to wait 10-15 minutes inside of a room for Taj, but I believe it's because she takes the time out to give the best care to her patients. On top of that, her medical assistant is so nice, patient, and positive. The staff have been friendly and courteous to me as well. My only complaint would be that it's a bit hard to reach someone to talk to when calling the office for other things than to make an appointment. Otherwise, they have been very responsive and I never had to schedule an appointment date too far out. read more

Okay, so one weekday late afternoon, I came for my first consultation. First star is for free parking, and with it so close to California Ave, this is a BIG plus! Second star is for the modern and clean reception/seating area. The rest of my experience goes downhill. I waited 30mins after my scheduled appointment to be taken back... I am not happy. The MA who took me back apologized for the wait saying this day all the treatment staff are in the office so they were running behind. I wait another 15mins before the provider comes back to speak with me... now I am really unhappy. The provider is knowledgeable and answers my questions... now I leave wondering if I do return for future treatments will they be running this far behind...? What drew me to this clinic, is the diversity of services and they have doctors on staff. read more

I went in to see a specialist about an infected pimple next to my eye. it had grown to the size of an almond and was squishy and painful. i was hoping for someone to pop it or slice it or give me a better sense of what i was dealing with. the doctor we saw was not helpful and appeared to be intoxicated. she repeated the same remarks over and over, slurred her words, and had trouble standing. not sure. we brought this up with the manager but nothing was done (what could be done?) i was sent home with an antibiotic and followed up with me a couple of days later which was sweet. that cost $125. nice. the visit was not helpful and i had a major allergic reaction to the sulfur based antibiotic that was prescribed. urgent care down the street took care of everything. maybe dermatologists are not the correct people to see about skin infections of this sort. 2 stars for being sweet, useless and possibly drunk. read more

I do not typically post reviews, however after my appointment at Westside Dermatology I wanted to share my experience with others as we depended on reviews to make decisions on what physician to use more than ever during the pandemic. I scheduled two appointments with Dr. Marcus, one for Botox and one for a reoccurring acne flair up. I was treated with Botox and had to remind Dr. Marcus that I scheduled a second appointment for an acne treatment. After a brief acne consultation, the doctor proscribed a medication. I was then told I would have to have a blood test to have this very common acne medication. The office has a team member to draw blood and I waited 35 minutes for the office technician to draw blood, she was unsuccessful in her efforts. I let the technician know I would need to see the doctor again so we could discuss other acne treatment medication options. When Dr. Marcus returned he wanted to send me to a public lab to have blood drawn, I said I did not feel comfortable during the pandemic to go to a public medical lab and asked for other acne treatment options. I was told that this option was the only option he felt would work and I would have to go to the lab for bloodwork or he could not help me. I left without an acne treatment and left Westside Dermatology disappointed. I have struggled with acne my entire life and know of several options that have historically worked for me. I was told that given my age, 48, the prescribed medication that required reoccurring blood work would be the only treatment option. I am new to West Seattle and will need to find a new Dermatology office in the area. Any recommendations are welcome. read more

Love it here! I've been going here for many years now but today's visit was what made me leave a review. I felt safe from COVID the whole time with plenty of masks, face shields, and hand sanitizer, as well as them taking everyone's temperature. I'm usually a terrible blood draw (4 pokes) but last time they gave me some advice so this time we got it first try! Go Zara! (The nurse who got the blood). Called this place for the 4th time to try and schedule an appointment after being referred here by my doctor and ended up waiting OVER 20 minutes just to speak with someone who told me I could not make an appointment. She said that they would not accept the insurance that I have and that was the end of the call. After calling my insurance, they informed me that this place DOES accept my insurance. As always, a great appointment! The front desk staff are personable, welcoming and efficient. The physician assistant/nurse is very sweet and professional. Every appointment I have had, there has been a bare minimum of waiting, both in the waiting are ( lobby) and after being ushered to the examination room. Dr. Arntzen is very effective: thorough, personable, decisive, catching precancerous conditions that my previous dermatologist seems to have missed. She's patient focused more than process focused-you don't feel like you're being trundled along an assembly line. My wife also is a patient of Dr. Arntzen and has had similar excellent experiences.
