My husband and I ordered this on uber eats and it was worthy enough to come on here and leave a review. Flavorful! Fresh! Classic Detroit bbq! Can't wait to splurge on it again. Roughly $55-65 feeds 2-3 people easy.

Backstory: My mother and I grew up in Michigan but moved to Arizona in 2010. We come back to visit every 1-2 years for this, that, or the third. My biological father wanted to take us to dinner and he really likes they shrimp so we came here. Review: We walked in, were greeted within 30 seconds. We were sat within a few seconds of that in a booth. Our waiter came by within a minute. We all ordered and that was that. The food came out within 10-15 minutes... salad was 5-7 minutes if that. My ribs were delicious and the shrimp were good too. Thank you Kim for your sweet personality, kindness, and wonderful customer service. Also, thank you Nolan for your speed quick response to my request for tartar sauce, such a sweetheart...and a cutie too lol anyway, great recommendation! I would love to come back! The ambiance in the restaurant was chill and relaxing !

The food here is fantastic and the serving size exceeds expectations. I got a 1/2 BBQ chicken and 1/3 rack of ribs for $20. I brought 1/2 home for dinner. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. I'd return here when I have a craving for BBQ. Also had a bowl of French onion soup - 3 cheeses used, and possibly the best I ever had, certainly in the top 5.

Sadly dissatisfied with the Fisherman Platter and French Onion Soup. Still the same great Chicken for the Win . Terrible breading and fried in old dirty grease YUK. Catfish and Shrimp way to much breading terrible . The once Famous Crock of French Onion Soup is no more great, not even good. Zero flavor a few slivers of Onions, all mushy bread inside Yuk what happened. We been a dozen times last decade, so sad to see what's being plated up now. #westpointbarbeque #chickenbreast #terriblefood #badfish #notthesame

I read the reviews on the broasted chicken and had to try it for myself. I ordered a takeout of the four piece broasted chicken dinner, fries, and bread. The chicken was good, but I wasn't overwhelmed by it. Granted I would order it again though. Next time I'm here I'll order the bbq.

BURN IN HELL Or at…read moreleast while attached to a hearse. The man that designed this custom built bar and grill does just that at least once a year when he treks with the trailer to Hell, Michigan with his "open casket" grill. The grill, which was built over the course of 80 to 100 hours at The TechShop of Allen Park, is made out of a modified casket. The shell of the casket is mounted to a portable tow-behind trailer, so it draws onlookers when being transported behind a hearse, but with no visible tie-downs. (Video of the creator talking about the grill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0RXI8DHWgo) It contains a four-burner stainless steel grill that boasts 48,000 Btu of power. It boasts 496 square inches of cooking space, with electronic ignition and porcelain-coated, heavy-gauge wire cooking grates and a 20-pound propane tank. The other half of the casket includes a marine style waterproof radio and a 27-gallon cooler with built-in drainage features. Of course, the grill wouldn't be complete without tools that all have "Open Casket Bar and Grill" laser etched into their handles, and custom-made salt and pepper shakers. Why a hearse? Because the creator, Steven Frye, is also the founder of the Nightmare Cruisers Hearse Club for car enthusiasts. The club boasts more than 120 members, mostly from around Michigan, though some join from across the country. "We like to get together and do the cruises," Frey said. "When we do these cruises, we like to hang out with our friends, old friends and new friends. Anyone that has a hearse is welcome to join us, even if you are just a hearse enthusiast." Frey first bought his hearse to promote a product, "Dr. Frybrain's Pumpkin Embalmer," though most people thought it was just a name for his hearse, rather than an actual product. After a couple of years of explaining the product on the car, Frey grew tired of answering questions and instead just painted over the advertising. For a time, the club also held the record for most hearses assembled in a parade in 2011. Frey said the rule for any gathering of cars is that is has to be a parade; otherwise, the record would be held by the manufacturer. "We held the record for about 11 months," he said. "Then a group in the Netherlands broke the record. Almost all of them were 'in the business,' though. Only three of our hearses were owned by funeral homes.

I've seen other casket grills, and none of them even compare. This one looks like it came direct from the factory. No other casket grill has a built in cooler, or on-board tunes! They normally only cook for club members, but you can generally get a casket-grilled hot dog for a donation to charity! Well done!

Parking is easy and accessible. I ordered a Mozzarella Cheese Sticks appetizer, and it was very good. The large, thick, square type with a lot of cheese, 6. Yum. My fiancee loved her frozen Rasberry Lemonade. They also offer pita, and a beautiful, huge crock of hummus. I got the Butchers Burger and it was delicious! Medium, good beef, juicy, bun substantial but not wet, good amount of cheese, good bun to beef ratio, I have no complaints, it went in my belly. The fries are also amazing. Angenerous portion, seasoned just right, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. My fiancee got the 4 skewer meal which in hindsight, is probably for 2 people. She was crazy about the beef and chicken skewers, and also enjoyed spicy ground beef and sojuk. It came with rice, charred onion, and tomato, and 2 sides. Staff is helpful and friendly. While waiting and browsing through nearby restaurants, we found another interesting spot close by, so we thought we'd just do starters here and then head out. But once the food arrived, we changed our minds and it turned out to be a great decision. The food was delicious, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Everything we ordered was on point, and we ended up finishing our entire dinner here. Our waiter consistently checked in to make sure we were taken care of. Even though the place was busy and the space is a bit small, the service was prompt and attentive. Parking was convenient with shared parking available in the back alongside nearby stores. Great Mediterranean halal food. We'll definitely be back to try more items from the menu.

The cornbread wasn't my favorite, and everything was too saucy for me. But the sauce was good. Next time, I'm going to ask for sauce on the side. The pork belly was juicy and falling apart, but the collard greens were very vinegary. If the sauce hasn't been so sweet, the collard greens would way too sour. Although I had my nitpicky comments, I can see myself coming back every month. The pork belly was really wonderful, and I suspect next time will be even better with sauce on the side. I need to try their Mac and cheese next.

Delray BBQ - What a wonderful surprise!…read more It has been a long time since my last visit downtown and I was craving Motz sliders, but as I got closer, I saw that Motz had closed early. Damn! Then I noticed the Delray BBQ trailer in the parking lot. WTH? I was in a hurry and looking for something quick and they were here, and I was here. They had BBQ. I had money. Sure, why not ... The menu yesterday was considerably limited to what is posted here: - pulled pork - pulled chicken - rib tips - selection of desserts $12 is a rather high price point for chicken and pork sandwiches from a food trailer, but the clock was ticking and what the heck ... I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich. The chicken was wonderful; cooked well done, but not over cooked, not dry and not sauced. The portion was very generous and cascaded far off the bun. The bun; I forgot to ask which bakery makes that wonderful bun. I will admit to being worried that only one sauce was available. It is a thin sauce that flows easily. A bit sweet and a hint of tang (acid). The order included a small scoop of Mac & Cheese. It is of the firm variety, my favorite. Not creamy, nor a gelatinous glob. If they put a bit of bacon or lobster in it, I would order it for a meal. I also order a small cup of the coleslaw ($1) and added it to the sandwich. A nice complement of texture for the sandwich. It is wet, not creamy - fine by me. The two guys working the food trailer are friendly and helpful. After finishing my lunch I inquired about wet-naps to clean my fingers and they provided. The limited menu was the only disappointment. I would have loved a combination plate of the usual suspects found at a BBQ joint. The limited menu was aimed at SW Detroit lunch crowd. The full menu is available at other venues - check Facebook, their webpage or call.
