Our monthly girls luncheon 1:00. Plenty of seating as most of their orders at this time is takeout. 5/5 plates says this place is wonderful!! So much food! It was quiet for a holiday, but the phones were ringing off the hook! Our server was nice but she was busy. I ordered the rib and shrimp combo platter. The slaw was fresh, crisp, and delicious. The toast was a substantial slice of bread. The ribs were tender and seasoned pretty good, nothing stellar, but solid. Backstory: My mother and I grew up in Michigan but moved to Arizona in 2010. We come back to visit every 1-2 years for this, that, or the third. My biological father wanted to take us to dinner and he really likes they shrimp so we came here. Review: We walked in, were greeted within 30 seconds. We were sat within a few seconds of that in a booth. Our waiter came by within a minute. We all ordered and that was that. The food came out within 10-15 minutes... salad was 5-7 minutes if that. We went in yesterday and the food was terrible. The ribs were overcooked and tasteless, the chicken dry and bland. Salad was just watery lettuce and a few croutons, and two discolored little tomatoes. The best part was the bread. The "loaded" baked potato was huge, had about a 1/2 tablespoon of cheese and maybe a teaspoon of bacon bits. No butter at all, and I had to ask twice for sour cream. BBQ ribs are good. The shrimp was so heavily coated and crunchy. Cod was good but also heavy on the costing. Service wasn't very friendly but was attentive. Been going to this restaurant for many years. Always love the food portions and taste. I usually get the chicken and shrimp dinner. Last view times I ordered I noticed the chicken was dry. More dry than in the past. This last time it was completely dried out and the bread was clearly a couple days old and very stale. My son ordered the half slab of ribs and that was dry as well. This is highly unfortunate as the portion size and taste are still the same otherwise. I really hope they can address the dryness of their meat issue. This place is a gem. I like the friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable and the food hits the spot for me every time. My standard order is the BBQ chicken with baked potato and salad. It comes with a continent sized slab of tasty garlic bread. I miss the giant green onion they used to serve with it. Perhaps people weren't eating them. I certainly was! But I'm an oniony, garlicy guy. It explains my lack of popularity with vampires...Well good, I don't like politicians anyway. This restaurant is consistently good. Well since we have been more or less forced to eat here due to dearborns new "no american food" policy surrounding the west dearborn strip, and not wanting that s#!t they serve at the chain restaraunts, I expected much less. The food was great, I've had the ribs, catfish, patty melt, bbq melt, fries, onion rings, several other thing and it was all very good. The ribs are tender and plump...no meat lost on them. The sauce is slightly sweet for me but I do prefer a more vinegar type sauce. But it was great and surprisingly affordable considering prices for chicken nuggets at McDonalds these day...pr paying 52.00 dollars for three menu sandwiches at jersey mikes or potbelly or eat ect.....I have always just done take out but the inside reminds me almost of the austrian/ german places that feel like you are eating in a mountain log home or a gasthaus restaraunt. The food was good. However I ordered side of soup, and it was a kids serving. I asked the waiter about it and he said it was a cup serving and if I wanted more (bowl size) it would be more money! Wow unbelievable, this was maybe at most two spoonfuls. The customer service was horrible from that point on. The old guy had a serious attitude! My parents would always come here when my brother and I stayed with friends... now I understand why... they didn't want to share! Jake and I came here on Sunday for ribs. Their prices are almost too low. A rack of ribs for 2 comes with a HUGE rack of ribs, two soup/salad/or coleslaws, 2 orders of potatoes and two pieces of Texas toast, all for only $18.99. With two waters and an upcharge for their French onion soup ($1.69) our bill was only about $22 before the tip. The ribs were a little dry, not as 'come off the bone' as I like, but they were MEATY and still tasted really good, just needed extra bbq sauce. The service was GREAT. The waiter checked on us often and treated us like we were regulars. I'll definitely go back to try their BBQ chicken! Or maybe just to have their delicious ribs again? read more

we've eaten here b4 they had a liquor license and when you could smoke we don't smoke therefore always sat in the non smoking section that being said even thought we no longer live in the neighborhood we will continue to stay much loyal customers. 5 piece shrimp appetizer enough for a meal. Just add a side of their wonderful coleslaw. Full slab of ribs looked wonderful and even after eating 5 ribs they still would not fit in the take home box. My only critique was the boasted potatoes were not cooked to a doneness I prefer but I do not know if that is how they are suppose to be. Overall each meal could feed 4 people lol. read more

It's an unfortunate situation trying to support local businesses during a pandemic order my food made it home to realize I was missing a whole dinner platter Called to let them know what happened Ireceive a bad attitude and they would not take responsibility for what had happened. They didn't decided to offer us a free Piece of cake . Only to get there and they change their mind . I should've had a red flag when the customer came in and they put barbecue sauce on her rib dinner and she asked for no barbecue sauce. Been visiting for a few years now... Ordered carry-out twice with no issue within the last week or two. They close at 9pm and even though my calls were at 8:47 & 8:52 respectively, they took my business and had it ready with zero hassle. Tonight at 8:38pm I called from their busy parking lot to order and the hostess refused, citing they're cleaning the kitchen. Patrons were in their cars and near the doors waiting for orders, which to me indicates the food is still cooking, so I'm calling b.s. on the hostess's excuse. She suggested I visit tomorrow and then hung up. As for the food, never had a major issue. While not the best BBQ, it's convenient for this side of town, usually pretty reliable and good in a pinch for a BBQ or seafood fix. A tad overpriced but not a big deal. Again, it's convenient. Disappointed enough with this latest guest experience to take a break for a while... Hope they create some consistency with the carry-out hours, especially for those who are unable to grab a meal during traditional dinner hours. 9pm close? Cool. An easily missed gem (even by me!). A casual family friendly bbq joint with a happy hour every hour and giant portions. Went with my sister looking for a place we could get our grub on and we're delighted by the service, cleanliness and cheap drinks! Strong $5 cocktails (they were well drinks but tasted great) GET THE WIKI WAKI WOO lol. The waitress felt like an aunt or someone you've known forever which is hard to find anymore and was comforting. She also let us order massive amounts of food and did not skip a beat and i vibe with that. When she brought out our plates she said "I told the cook I couldn't wait to see your faces, I knew you hadn't been here before!" Which, $16 for the massive mountain of meat we got- we were not complaining. The ribs were tender and more meaty than fatty, the chicken was also cooked perfectly. Everything was sauced lightly but they bring you out the bottle too which I prefer. The wedge potatoes were recommended and did not disappoint. THEY FRY IN ANIMAL LARD so amen to that. Everything was soy allergy friendly except the salad dressings. I was visiting a friend who lives in the area and she suggested we have lunch here, a great idea as it turned out. I ordered the ribs and fish combination and it was a ton of food! Ended up taking my fish to go, loved those ribs and the sauce. The cole slaw was amazing and one of the servers told me their secret - they mix in some Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing dry packets when making the huge quantities they need for serving. I will definitely try that next time I have cole slaw at home. My friend had the ribs and chicken with vegetables, also very good. We took another dinner to go for her husband. The waitstaff was friendly and took great care of us, keeping the water glasses filled (very important, as it shows attention to detail in the rest of the meal). We took our time and never felt like they were rushing us to finish. If this restaurant existed where I live now, I would go there often - for now, I must look forward to my vacation each year so I can have more of those ribs! read more

This is a great BBQ / Broasted chicken place in Dearborn... It's almost a hidden gem since many people don't know about it because it's not in a popular area of Dearborn. Westpoint gives you a big amount of food. Lot of their meals, you can actually share and you should unless you like leftovers. I'm a big fan of their chicken or pork shish kabok. Get 1 skewer if it's just for you. Get 2 skewers if you want to share. The dinner comes with broasted fries (or other type of potatoes), giant garlic bread, & salad. I usually get feta cheese added to the salad and put some slices of chicken in the salad... very delicious! I have had their ribs and they are pretty good too! (ask for extra sauce because you can use it for the ribs and for the broasted fries!) Their prices are great. Last time I went with a group of 3 people and we paid under $30 and had some leftovers! We usually hit Famous Daves or the Boneyard but decided to give Westpoint a try based on the reviews. We went in on a Saturday around 6:30 and didnt have to wait at all for a table. They have a good variety of choices from BBQ chicken, fried catfish, broasted chicken, fried shrimp and of course BBQ ribs. We all ordered ribs which came with soup or salad and choice of potato. We chose broasted and a piece of garlic bread. The server was friendly and the atmosphere was casual. The food came out nice and hot and looked great. The ribs did have like a cooked on sauce but not heavy sauced. At first taste the seasoning seemed to have a bit of salty taste, more than other places but was still tasty. The ribs were meaty and tender. My friend who got the rib shrimp combo enjoyed her ribs and the shrimp were nice big and battered not breaded. The broasted potatoes were more like large thick fries but still tasty. All and all it was a good experience and we will be back again. read more

Love it here! The ribs and jumbo shrimp are my favorite!! The Texas toast is awesome too! We come here often for birthdays and they are always very accommodating.
