If you do not care for the craziness of the South Beach nightlife, Westover Arms is a great hotel to stay at. The suites have plenty of space, are modern, and include a kitchen and refrigerator. It is also conveniently located two blocks from the boardwalk and beach. I walked 2.5 miles on the boardwalk to South Beach every day. The boardwalk is beautiful so it is a great walk. The hotel also gives you vouchers to rent a beach chair and towel. There will also be a lot less people on the beach and in the water since you are well north of South Beach. In addition, it costs a lot less because you are not in the heart of South Beach. I definitely recommend staying here unless you really want to be in South Beach all day and night. If you don't care to be in the craziness of south beach this is a great option! Yes it's true, the hotel does not have on-site parking but your on vacation and there's a $8 flat rate garage 15 minute walk right across the bridge. Imagine a studio apartment with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and dishwasher turned into a hotel. The bed was comfortable, the closets were just enough space, provided glassware, silverware, toiletries. For us it worked out great, we reserved 5 rooms, they 3 of us on 2 floor and 2 on another but it worked out great. Perfect location with the beach right there, great room size, comfy beds, breakfast bar, shower pressure was nice and the ambiance light in the bathroom was sexy. Would definitely book again and recommend. Location was 10000% fantastic, price was great, Overrall, everything worked out perfectly. I was not the first person to check in so I wasn't able to get the before pictures. read more

Great find! This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but when you enter you're in for a nice surprise. The decor is very modern with white furniture, bright colored accessories and shining floors/ appliances. The lobby is large and spacious with enough room to accommodate many waiting guests and their luggage. This is a plus because you will definitely be waiting as their check in desk is just that...one desk and one clerk. They certainly have the space for more check in areas though...future renovation? Suggestion box please! The hotel used to be an apartment building in1950s, but after renovations from 2008-2012 it is now considered a family hotel. The rooms range from 544-858 square feet with the same bright decor you found in the lobby. Our suite , which is more like an apartment, had plenty of windows for natural lighting and balcony along Collins. Full kitchen has stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, and a large rotating flat screen on the wall that made my hubby smile. They offered two beach towels, beach chair vouchers, an umbrella and an ice chest full of ice per room for your day at the beach. SUPER CONVENIENT! There is no swimming pool or restaurant which I'm sure some people would love, but I didn't miss either at all as I came to hang at the beach. The beach is clean and relatively quiet. There are a few vagrants sleeping out there early in the morning but city workers were driving around asking them to pack up at around 6am. The street on this side of town isn't too loud which is a nice change. There are restaurants and shops nearby ( subway next door) as well as a walgreens within walking distance. The beach is across the street with a great pier for jogging. WARNING: if you don't like cats do not walk along the pier because there are a bagillion (is that a word?) of them just chillin along the path. They didn't bother anyone but I thought you should know. Parking is sparce, however the hotel provides a long list of additional options. We parked at a lot for $8 a day which was about 4-5 blocks away - not a bad walk, but remember you will be carrying/pulling your luggage down the sidewalk. other options are street metered spaces and other lots that are free from 6p-8a but you'll have to set your alarm so you can move your car in time. Overall, we'd stay here again. Not really a hotel I'd bring the kids too but there were a few children around. It is definitely someplace parents can "run away" to when they need an escape and some time alone or for anyone to have fun and do a little relaxing. read more

Ok.. if you read my reviews you know above all else I am budget conscious with an emphasis on quality. Well we were on a cruise ship for the past several days so we needed a really ideal spot to get our land legs. We have a family of 5 so it becomes really important to plan things and to execute them well. This place has a Subway next door and there is a Sixth car rental place next door. There is a public Access to the beach about a block away and this place gives you complimentary beach chairs. All in all, I highly recommend this place and they got us into the room early. You can't beat that. We get off a ship and you get to a room. I'm not wandering the streets with the kids. Joseph.. was a great help. In a pinch ask for him. This was a great place for a few days and we highly reccomend this place for you to rest your head. There are very few complaints about this Establishment. The first is there are no rags for the restroom. None. To he second is not a complaint but you my reader should know. The bed is foam. It is so soft. So no spring push back. The facilities were nice. Also there is a Walgreens on the other side of the bridge about a block away. Next. There is a Baskin Robbins if you walk past the walgreens. We paid 1.75 for one soda. Don't do what we did. That makes no Sense. be well and safe travels. read more

Three stars only because Diadese, the lady at the front reception saved me from the horror of Jose and joseph . I checked in March 22 and apparently there was a issue with my booking dates and card attached on file. I explained to the managers that this was a VIRTUAL CARD WITH both my info and ID attached that I used through booking.com, please understand that the virtual card had all the numbers and matched my GOVERNMENT ID attached to the virtual card. I showed this to Jose/joseph (you know who you are) !and he was very dismissal of this , I explained to him that due to several fraudulent issues on my bank card I was only able to provide the virtual bank card with my phone and I had alll the numbers and my ID to match, however he still dismissed this due to 'hotel policies'. I provided a different card to diadrese (sorry for the mispronounced name) and she was VERY PROFESSIONAL with solving this issue .The manager on duty on March 22 anywhere between 9am-6pm was RUDE and the guy that I spoke to this morning Joseph/Jose made it even worse when I explained to him that I had issues with the date through booking.com . However I would have given this a 1 star rating if it wasn't for the lady WHO IS OBVIOUSLY FIT FOR THIS INDUSTRY. Thank you young lady and I appreciate your kindness for giving me a a more welcomed check in. read more

The rooms are very spacious and it's close to the beach, but that's about the extent of its benefits. The room smells perpetually like cigars and marijuana and the staff are rude. We purchased late checkout and yet we were barged in on TWICE at 11 am (once without a knock, they just came in with their keycard) with them telling us we were late for checkout. Also keep in mind that it's a street away from the beach, and the street on which the hotel is located is a death trap with no crosswalk and surrounded by loud construction. Also, the vouchers they give for the beach chairs and umbrellas are next to useless as the hut is frequently closed. Only worth it if you are traveling with 3+ people on a budget but maybe just get an Airbnb. read more

I have sent three emails and probably called at least five times to try and get a manager on the phone to discuss a billing error. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. Fine place to stay but g-d forbid you have any type of problem - good luck. Have now stayed here twice - will definitely select another Miami Beach spot next trip. Not worth the frustration. read more

Rooms are clean and it's a good price although no pool, parking, and breakfast is available. It worked for us and if you don't mind a short walk to the parking garage ($8.00 a night as of this post) it will work for you. Not much staff on site at all which is fine, but they do have overnight security which is a nice addition. You are a block away from a little convenience store/cafe (Primo Cafe) and they have a handy little snack store at the lobby that is fairly priced. Beach is a block east and you get a voucher for two chairs an umbrella and a cooler. A three only because I was quoted $85.00 for a one hour late check out. $85.00. I asked twice to make sure. My whole one night stay was $129.00 by the way. My recommendation would be to say "We don't offer late check-out" rather then say "$85.00". Dumbfounded but again it was a good stay. Get the heck out of there at 11am though! read more

Great value. Nice room. Decent amenities. The hotel is a hip location on the common path but without the price. The area has a heavy Jewish population. If you have any sort of phobia look towards other areas. Also we found what we believe to be traces of blood and animal Hyde. read more

Me and my friends stayed here for our 2018 spring break trip. Literally one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. It comfortably slept all 6 of us and there were no problems with noise or utilities. I was a little hesitant at first because I thought it was too good to be true but NOPE! The room was huge! The couch slept 3 people and we were never over crowded. I do wish there was free breakfast but still wasn't too bad because a local convenient shop with affordable food was a two minute walk away. Great hotel and staff. I really enjoyed it. read more

First time visitor to Miami Beach. We were previously in Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and Key West, hoping this final leg of our Florida trip would be memorable. When I heard that this hotel did not have parking I really wanted to skip this one for the bigger hotels with parking lots. Since we were a bit on a tight budget we decided to try out this place. We checked in to this hotel on a Friday evening when the employee named Christian offered us a free upgrade to the biggest room in the complex. Obviously we were delighted because we did not expect this at all. So far so good....... Later in the evening Christian called me on my cell phone saying that he made a mistake by offering us an upgrade and subsequently changed our room to a deluxe room. First of all we do not appreciate our luggage touched and moved by strangers. Second of all we never asked for an upgrade. He had decided to do this on his own will and we felt disappointed and upset that he could not help us out by waiving the resort fees. On top of that it is nearly impossible to speak to the manager as he was hardly around. Don't think I'll ever come back to this "hotel." read more

Lobby was great! Original room was damaged so I was upgraded, which was nice, but the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes and some trash leftover from previous occupants. read more

I was unsure about the hotel based on mixed reviews but I had a great experience. The hotel was clean and my room was great. It's not the fanciest but very up to date and modern rooms. Having the kitchen was great since in had my kids with me. I would definitely reserve again. Only thing right now is that they are doing construction on the boardwalk but that not an issue with the hotel read more

My husband and I decided that since we were going to Miami Beach for dinner and a movie that we should make it an overnighter. We went on line to Orbitz and this place came up. It was very affordable plus we didn't want to break the bank since is was only going to be an overnighter. We called the hotel and were told that there was availability. We hung up the phone and then had another question but this time an Asian woman answered the phone and told us that there was no availability. On line it showed availability. We decided to book it on line. We then called back the hotel to confirm the reservation but got cut off. We called a second time and were put on hold and the third time we called we were put through to a voicemail. When they finally called us back it was to cancel our reservation. Very bad experience and we never even stepped foot in the hotel. read more

Great Spacious Rooms with full kitchen. Priced right and a block away from Ocean access. Will be back again soon. Thanks for the free drinks at the bar. read more

UNORGANIZED THIEVES WORK HERE!!!!!! They have no clue of any of the hotel policies and couldn't find my reservation yet they charged me. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME PLEASE. I highly suggest searching for another hotel unless you want to be robbed! The front desk guy kept my wallet with cash and other personal belongings. David (front desk) admitted to finding my wallet and I went to retrieve it and now it has been misplaced. I'm flying back home today and due to the hotels lack of organization now I have bigger problems. On top of this, my confirmed reservation was somehow lost in the system. I found a new cheaper BETTER hotel through hotel tonight but I am still not over the fact that this employee stole from me. No managers on site and no customer service numbers for ANY inconveniences you may have. I will say it 10 more times: SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT BOTHER! UNSAFE RUDE MANNERED EMPLYEES. David wouldn't even give me his name I had to get it from the bartender. He literally refused and appeared to be zoned out and under some type of influence. read more

Stopped in to check this place out:)Heard some nice things and was in the area: ) Very clean, modern, and calming color tones. Nice outdoor seating. Friendly, helpful guy at the front desk. Thanks Ian! Loved the bar area and especially the bartender Latifa! Ask her to make ya a French Martini :) The one downfall keeping me from giving them a perfect rating is the beer selection. Add some craft beer or better yet some local craft beer and it would definitely make a difference! Thanks for the excellent service Latifa. Definitely worth a shout out! read more

I visited here for my birthday in Sep...I love love love this hotel. I'll be back soon!!!!

This is a "ghost hotel" which means that there is no real staff for a large part of each day, and the people who do work here are not customer service oriented. So if you need anything like extra towels or if you run into any problems, you're met with people who utterly lack initiative. There is no on-site manager. The rooms themselves are nice enough and have kitchens and laundry facilities, and the location is close to the beach. But be aware that it's on the corner of two very noisy streets. This is not a place for anyone who wants to get solid sleep. It's fine for people with low expectations with regard to service who just want to crash in a convenient location. read more

If they would have had a pool and onsite parking I probably would have given them a four or five star rating. When you enter the lobby you have no idea where check-in is located. It's in the little grocery store down the hall but there are no signs. If you're lucky the bartender will give you a little help. It's a beautifully redone apartment building. The rooms are efficiencies and not really hotel rooms so if you're staying for a week it would be great. Our room had a Murphy bed, was very clean and they will even give you towels, beach chairs and a cooler filled with ice everyday if you want to hit the beach across the street. The bar tender is pleasant and helpful and wants to make mixed drinks. My complaints are pretty basic. Check out time is 11 am and the cranky maid means 11AM!!! she was flat out rude when she knocked on our door at 11:01 am. I very nicely asked her for 5 more minutes and she rolled her eyes and mumbled in Spanish. I was pleasant but left no room tip. We were 2 people who stayed 2 nights and left little to clean up after. She needed to make a bed and spruce up a bathroom. They need to move check out time to noon. We were there in January so there really wasn't anyone there. Not a bad place so only a few minor things. No pool and early check out time suck. read more

We stayed here twice. For two days pre-cruise and two days post cruise. Their check-in process is terrible. Takes forever and if the person isn't sitting at the desk, you have to find someone in the store in the back of the building. The second time we checked in our room deposit was taken from person in our party's credit card who was staying in a separate room. They were great and credited their account and then charged ours, but the only connection we had to this party was the fact that we were traveling together and it totally messed up our payment methods! Separate reservations. One of the parties we were traveling with couldn't use the washing machine in the room because it was broken. We had them use ours. There was a significant difference in deposit rates ($49) from one week to the next which wasn't mentioned to us and when we asked why there really wasn't much of an explanation. We understood completely having to wait for our rooms when we arrived at the hotel early on both occasions. They did do a good job trying to get us all situated. The rooms were very nice -- modern, however when we checked in the second time the kitchen counter had not been washed and the dishes from the previous guests were still in the dishwasher. The lobby is very nice - art deco and modern. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a large party with separate room reservations. read more
