The end result speaks for itself. Renovations with condos are more difficult, as HOA rules needs to be followed. We did not hear any complaints or need to talk to building manager at all. Yair took care of dealing with the HOA and his workers all followed the HOA rules. The project finished on time, and looks fantastic. Yair patiently explains what he is doing and why it is done that way. We really appreciated that transparency. Yair often said he wants us to feel comfortable with our home, and by the end of the project we believed that. As with any project, there were some minor issues and difficulties. Yair and Natali were very understanding of our problems and always helped fix the issues. It saved us a lot of stress and headaches knowing that we can count on Yair and Natali. We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement. Everything they were supposed to do had to be done twice or more. I had to order and pick up…read moresupplies constantly due to LYD contractors not measuring and trying to get by with short cuts. I had to order windows three times, a door twice, etc. I spent an unusually large amount of time coming back from work midday to supervise, per their request, bring supplies they had not accounted for, or redirect uninformed subs. I also had to carry and move and return the supplies they screwed up. This was a disaster project and took more than twice as long to finish as quoted. Items were installed that were unsafe (stairway railings) but the kicker when we were finally done: they screwed a toilet paper holder into our brand new vanity making it impossible to open the drawers without damaging it as well as too close so that we cannot put a roll on the holder. This is a daily reminder of how they screwed up our entire remodel that should have been an easy basement flip. ($200k+ and under 800sf) They fired the Supervisor halfway through our job for incompetency, but did not fix what they had already screwed up and now the flooring they put down is coming up in places. Absolute disaster and unpleasant experience. Don't trust his videos of "happy customers" he will show you on his phone or iPad when he comes to sell to you. It's all a scam.

!! CONSUMER BEWARE !! My husband and I hired Blue Line Home Construction to do a home addition on…read moreour existing house in Puyallup. Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with the issues that we had with this company. I won't try to bore you with paragraphs and paragraphs of detail, so here are the highlights: * The project manager (Donovan) was so dishonest and incapable of his role as a project manager that the owner (Marvin) ended up terminating him from the company right in the middle of our project... leaving us with NO project manager and we were charged a $10K project manager fee regardless * They FORGOT to add insulation, gutters, and the required landscaping (grading) for our project to the estimate. * During the design / engineering process, Blue Line's team inserted changes in the proposal that was to be sent to the county for permitting and did not tell us about them. If it wasn't for my father-in-law catching the discrepancies, we would've never known. (ex: changed our roof from asphalt shingle to metal without notice). * Since Blue Line delayed siding installation after roof install, didn't haul away a 6ft tall mud pile right next to the addition, and didn't follow the proper grading procedures for the landscape, we had SERIOUS water damage during construction (see photos attached) * The owner (Marvin) saw the photos of the water pooling up on the floor and did not initially want to pull back the drywall or insulation to check for water damage. His said "it should be fine". I had to cease progress on the entire project in order for the owner to take my concern seriously. * When the owner came out to finally come clean up the garbage / dirt / excessive foliage out of our yard, he damaged the slab our outdoor A/C unit was sitting on. Their crew is extremely careless. * With all of these issues, you can imagine how upsetting it was for my wife and I. Unfortunately, Marvin (owner) stopped returning our phone calls and text messages because we were "too mean" and "had to take a mental break from our project". After the water damage fiasco, we did not hear from him again. We had to try and manage communication through an alternative measure. We never received project updates, and my wife and I were continuously trying to keep the project going. The owner didn't know what type of insulation to put in our roof, nor what window was per code... How does a general contractor not know this? Finally, no one ever showed up for a county inspection either. My husband and I had to figure our way through them. Anyways, if you've read this far... I apologize for the long read. I wasn't really planning on writing this review, but we hope we can save other people from hiring this company and dealing with the constant headaches and stress. Please, please do your research and know your consumer rights before you hire ANY general contractor. Otherwise you end up with a deceitful company like Blue Line Home Construction.
