Tournament was delayed by two hours due to rain. When we arrived the fields looked great and there was ample space to set up your own seating. A few trips were made to the bathroom by my group and no complaints. At one point, one person when to the concession stand to see what was on the menu as we were starting to get hungry. Come to find out that even though teams were still playing, the concession stand had closed. Most places would make an adjustment to their schedule for delayed tournaments to ensure they stayed open during the last games. This may be an external group that runs them, and I get it, it's just tough to corral hungry children and convince them they'll be fine for awhile longer.

People seem to be completely ignoring the signs because the park was incredibly crowded and no one was social distancing. Luckily, we were able to find a secluded picnic table to sit at and eat our lunch. It seemed like a nice park and I would have loved to stay and walk around on some of the trails, but I wasn't comfortable doing that considering how crowded it is. I'd recommend trying to find a less popular park than this one if you're just trying to spend some time outside.

The areas for parking can get a bit complex and overrun at times when there is more than one little league game or youth soccer match happening at the same time. Some parents get pretty creative and strategic with their mini van placement.

This park is good for 3 things:…read more #1 - Launching a boat. # 2 - Watching the sunset. Windjammer has the best view on the peninsula but Pitcairn has some pretty decent spots. There are a few platform bench areas and some other benches scattered near the water, not to mention the dock itself. # 3 - In the summertime, if you are a teenager, this seems to be the place to be. The docks are normally infested with groups of teens swimming, tanning and imbibing in underage activities. But no hate and no shade. ** Honorable mention goes to fishing. My husband will come here every few weeks to get the line wet. He has yet to catch anything memorable but the ambience makes it worthwhile. There is also a very sparse play structure, some picnic tables and a restroom. We've renamed it the "murder bathroom" because it's dank and nasty. It's worth mentioning a Tega Cay sticker is required to park here.

My kids LOVED visiting Riverwalk Park. Such a hidden gem in the Rock Hill area. Because the park was a little off the beaten path, it wasn't super crowded. Everything was clean and in good working condition. All of the other families utilizing the park during our visits were kind, and everything felt very safe. Appreciated the large parking lot and the easy access from I-77. Whether you're a local or just passing through the area, this park makes a great place for the kiddos to burn off some energy and enjoy themselves.
