Because the park was a little off the beaten path, it wasn't super crowded. Everything was clean and in good working condition. All of the other families utilizing the park during our visits were kind, and everything felt very safe. Appreciated the large parking lot and the easy access from I-77. First off, the dog park is amazing. Huge with lots of space, separated areas for small and large dogs, agility play equipment, benches and the like. You must have a city dog license and it seems that access to the park is using an RF tag to open the gate. Nearby, an ADA compliant playground, fitness equipment and a disc golf course. And that's just half the park. On the other side, a regular playground with a splashpag, picnic shelters, a massive baseball/softball complex and walking trails and a mountain bike trail. We love this trails system. It's a huge network of trails in North and South Carolina. When we…read moredon't feel like driving to the mountains, we usually end up on a portion of the Carolina Thread Trail near Charlotte. Recently, we've done the portions near Baxter Village, Waxhaw, and South Fork Trail. I know we've done way more than that, but those are the ones that come to mind recently.
