Despite the river views, it took a half hour or so to get to the spider lillies, which are apparently limited to one particular location. It was hard to see them from shore, made harder by rising waters (the festival the previous day was likely thrown off by rain). I got enough of a glimpse of them to understand where the name comes from. The overall aesthetic of the park offered remnants of a historic canal, and boating and picnicking opportunities. It was a pleasant space, but not at the top of ones I'd want to drive out to and pay for.

The Rocky Spider Lily's are only located in certain areas ( SC, GA, and AL). Hoping to see them in another state as well. Its all about timing, make sure you check the websites for a bloom updates. The park is well kept and bathrooms are clean, which is a plus. During the Lily Festival parking is limited, so pack your patience. You will get parking, so no worries. The cost is $6 for each adult, very reasonable considering. They have a store with maps for the walking trails, its approx 1mile roundtrip to see the Lily's. If you want to see them up close and personal you must rent a canoe prior to coming. The park doesnt rent boats, a outside company will take you on a tour. I actually enjoyed the nature trails. They have a nice platform for viewing the lily's. The lily's are absolutely breathtaking, I truly enjoyed my day at this park. The trails are fairly short and well taken care of. There are some food and artisan vendors at the park. Tip: dont touch the lily's if your on a boat, all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested. Please do your own research beforehand. Thankfully most people are viewing from the platform. Fabulous day indeed, fresh air, steps, and peace! @glampedlife

She was very nice, asked him several questions and assured him that on Monday, she would have the Form emailed to him. IT NEVER happened! On Monday, Jim called and left a voicemail on the Y phone. NO CALL BACK! Where is the Indianland Y's compassion, when we are worrying about illness and pending surgery that they can't acknowledge the fact that an elderly man cannot come to the Y and personally request to have his "Membership'" put on hold. Jim was a member of the cancer exercise Group until he could no longer attend. I would like someone to reach out and help us with this lack of compassion and communication. I am 84 and have vision issues and do not drive so I can't go to the Y and act on his behalf.

This course is one of the four that is part of the Leroy Springs family of golf courses…read more It's a wide open course with several long par 5's and 4's. Water comes into play on 5 of the holes. The signature hole, number 7 is a par 3 and a beauty that offers a challenging island green. I played on a Wednesday at 810a at the Senior rate of $34 with cart. It was not busy at all with no one pushing our foursome from behind. The only downside is there is no bathroom on the front nine, though there is one on the back nine. No free water like they offer in Chester. The carts are almost new clean and in great condition and well maintained. On the front nine, holes 3 and 4 run along the Airport Rd and there is always some yahoo blowing the horn and yelling. Overall it's a well designed course that is long with several severe dog leg turns. In good condition considering it was built in 1935.
