What a beautiful place! This place is a perfect combination for beginners and intermediate persons who are looking for trails and not mountains. I couldn't find the suspension bridge, but of course next time I will. The place has 12 miles and is paved! Picnic area, restrooms only at the entrance. There are some great sections in this trail and it is well marked for the most part. There is a residential community around here so you will see a lot of backyards and cross through the community. Glad I decided to hike it before biking it. The trail is very narrow in places and overgrown with briars in places too. Also, a steep drop offs which would be challenging for an advanced rider. A beautiful place where you can spend the day with the family or just by yourself. Be aware of dogs without leashes (owners live in the neighborhood around the trail).

Absolutely love this trail, multiple bridges and of course the suspension bridge. Parts are shaded and parts are sunny. Best part, we caught a nice black snake curled up in a tree thanks to a fellow hiker who gave us a heads up so he didn't scare us :)

This is the best trail in the union county area. so many unmarked trails to explore. We swung on vines, walked the bridge, and even found a hut made out of sticks in the wood. truly a treasure.

The actual suspension bridge that shows both North and South Carolina borders.

I bookmarked this spot for the seasonal spider lillies. After self-paying the admission fee and…read moreparking, the walk along the shore was quite pleasant on a mild day. Despite the river views, it took a half hour or so to get to the spider lillies, which are apparently limited to one particular location. It was hard to see them from shore, made harder by rising waters (the festival the previous day was likely thrown off by rain). I got enough of a glimpse of them to understand where the name comes from. The overall aesthetic of the park offered remnants of a historic canal, and boating and picnicking opportunities. It was a pleasant space, but not at the top of ones I'd want to drive out to and pay for.

Finally checked off Landsford Canal Park off my park bucket list! If you wanna see something thats…read moreabsolutely gorgeous and unique, this is a must see. The Rocky Spider Lily's are only located in certain areas ( SC, GA, and AL). Hoping to see them in another state as well. Its all about timing, make sure you check the websites for a bloom updates. The park is well kept and bathrooms are clean, which is a plus. During the Lily Festival parking is limited, so pack your patience. You will get parking, so no worries. The cost is $6 for each adult, very reasonable considering. They have a store with maps for the walking trails, its approx 1mile roundtrip to see the Lily's. If you want to see them up close and personal you must rent a canoe prior to coming. The park doesnt rent boats, a outside company will take you on a tour. I actually enjoyed the nature trails. They have a nice platform for viewing the lily's. The lily's are absolutely breathtaking, I truly enjoyed my day at this park. The trails are fairly short and well taken care of. There are some food and artisan vendors at the park. Tip: dont touch the lily's if your on a boat, all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested. Please do your own research beforehand. Thankfully most people are viewing from the platform. Fabulous day indeed, fresh air, steps, and peace! @glampedlife

Then it is just a short walk to the museum and a few monuments. I'm not sure if there is really any connection to Jackson himself aside from the name and monuments. But there are some artifacts which date from around his time. The history here, indeed the whole area, is a history lacking from the west coast. So, whether related to the 7th president or just his era, it is cool for a life long west coaster to visit and learn. Other highlights of this state park which I did not have an opportunity to check out are camp sites, a lake with canoe rentals and a 1 mile nature trail. Practically something for everyone.

This park is located about 20 miles off the I-77 interstate. There is plenty of signage to guide you. The park is $3 per adult and $1 per child with a pay station. Park opens at 9am. Plenty of parking! We walked around the statues, the meeting house, and the schoolhouse. Kids enjoyed ringing the bell. There are picnic tables and a covered shelter with additional tables. There is a restroom that is depicted as a log cabin. So is the picnic shelter. Very Rustic looking. The kids enjoyed looking at everything, reading the markers and taking their own photos. It was very relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them take their own photos. I hope they always enjoy history! Kayla Beth Fields , the kids and I had a great little adventure.
