The lines inside are also never too bad. I can count on this airport and it's efficiency. Only downside is that I wish they had more flights or offered better prices. It is always more expensive to fly out of here but it does save you from the headache of LAX. You have to weigh your options and priorities. I am willing to pay a little more out of here at times. I prefer this airport but it will come down to the price and how much more it is. They don't fly out too late due to the houses around. SYOY!

I flew into John Wayne Airport (SNA) during my most recent trip to California. I was staying in…read moreNewport Beach for a few days and it was only natural to try and find a flight that landed here. The location of SNA is ideal if you're staying in the OC - the only other options in the area are SAN and LAX which are both over an hour drive away in either direction. The airport isn't large, but large enough to have several routes passing through it. The aesthetics are fine - not the most modern airport I've been to, and they seem to have a good amount of shops and eateries relative to their size. The rental car counters are super close to the terminal - I can't remember the last time I walked to one from baggage claim. My only real issue with SNA is that because of its size, you will likely be limited in routes. Flying from JFK to SNA was fine, but coming home my only options were connecting flights or a red eye. Neither were ideal, so I planned my itinerary accordingly to fly out of another airport. Overall, SNA is good for what it is, and a great option if you're visiting the Orange County area.

Finally we both got through and I was at the gate to board and my companion was 200 feet away walking to catch up, they told me that I went through the door now or they were closing it. I said, "but they're right there!" They could see my friend walking and they shut the door 30 seconds before my friend arrived. Unbelievable! I said I'd never fly with them again. Today I am. 100 dollars for a check in bag so I brought none. Got the thicket last week. Got an email to check in. I clicked on it and it should me nothing to click on so I figured "no big deal". At the desk 30 minutes ago, they said that you have to check in online or it's a $25 fee. I went back to the email and it only gives you the option to get the App. They assured me I don't have to get the app... but they expect you to come 3 hours ahead of flight to have them assist you with their email that offers no link to check in. This airline gouges you wherever they can... very distrust worthy. I hope they don't skimp on plane parts.

Sitting on a plane waiting for it to take off for 3 hours - I guess I have time to review frontier. Oh and they progressively bumped up the temp so by the time we were taking off I was stewing in a brew of greasy sweat and then needed to fly for 3 hours like that. Anyway, everything is al a carte of course.. as an example, you get water and anything else costs. I especially loved the fact that I paid $5 to get in group 1 for expedited boarding but then everyone else did too so like 95% of people were in group 1. What a load of BS!!! Everything is bare bones... at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I should have just paid more. Oh and then one of the attendants was all attitude.. I just brushed it off but he kept being a douche and checking my seat belt a million times and explaining that it needed to be belted, even though it was the whole time! That said, the female attendant was actually super nice so idk, maybe that part evens out. Anyway, at the end of the day, frontier solidly deserves 1 star.. it is the 1 star airline of all airlines. So, maybe this review is not needed but I feel like I need to vent. Frontier is so bad that my coworkers thought I was crazy for taking it but the price was like half of the next cheapest thing.. maybe the price deserves a star but I don't think I could live with myself if I have frontier anything other than 1 star.

The cabin crew welcomed everyone with a smile and helped a few passengers place their luggage in the overhead bins. After finding my seat, I got comfortable and watched the last few travelers settle in. The cabin felt clean, the seats were neatly arranged, and everything looked ready for departure. Once boarding was complete, the doors were closed and the crew demonstrated the safety instructions. A few minutes later, the aircraft slowly pushed back from the gate and started taxiing toward the runway. The captain introduced himself over the intercom, thanked everyone for choosing the flight, and gave a short update about the journey ahead. After waiting briefly for clearance, the engines became louder, and the aircraft accelerated smoothly before lifting off the runway. The climb was steady, and within minutes we were flying above a blanket of clouds. When the seatbelt sign was switched off, the cabin instantly became more relaxed. Some passengers opened books, others connected their headphones to the entertainment system, while a few simply leaned back and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The cabin crew soon started serving drinks followed by light refreshments. They were polite throughout the service, taking their time with each row instead of rushing through the cabin. One passenger requested an extra drink, and the crew happily returned a few minutes later without hesitation. It was a small moment, but it showed their attention to customer service. The flight remained smooth for most of the journey. There was a short period of mild turbulence, and the captain informed everyone before it started. The seatbelt sign came back on for a few minutes, but the bumps were minor and ended quickly. Once the ride became smooth again, normal service resumed, and the cabin returned to its quiet atmosphere. As we got closer to our destination, the captain announced that the descent had begun. The crew completed their final cabin checks, collected the remaining cups and snack wrappers, and reminded everyone to fasten their seatbelts and return their seats to the upright position. Looking out of the window, the clouds slowly cleared as the ground came back into view. The landing was gentle, followed by a short taxi to the gate. After the aircraft came to a complete stop, passengers gathered their belongings and exited in an orderly manner. The crew stood near the exit, thanking everyone individually and wishing them a pleasant day. Overall, the journey felt comfortable, well organized, and completely stress-free. From the smooth takeoff to the soft landing, everything happened just as expected, and the friendly cabin crew made the experience even more enjoyable. It was the kind of flight that reminds you how pleasant air travel can be when everything runs smoothly.

You're telling me that they only do safety checks until the last minute?? WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE AIR WITHOUT A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY DIED DUE TO THE AIRLINE'S NEGLIGENCE. So instead of killing us, we had to deplane and wait over 3 hours for a replacement plane, which meant we reached our destination at 3am. And all they offered customers for almost killing us was a $12 food voucher. This airline needs to be shut down because they cannot ensure the safety of its customers. If you don't believe me, this was Flight 2332 going from Phoenix to Raleigh on July 23rd 2026. This is the height of negligence and unprofessionalism, just short of killing a 737 full of people.
