Well I have to start by saying that all the reviews written on here are just from passengers, not from people on the inside. Well here you will hear it directly from a ramp agent, I was hired and worked for Delta airlines at this airport (SNA/Orange County), and I'm going to let you in on a few things that will make you think twice before setting foot in a Delta plane. First of all, us rampers are liable to do a certified mechanics job, we have to check the planes that are made back in the 70's for damages, broken pieces, leaks, etc, etc, because they are too cheap to have a certified mechanic on site. Well one man caught a pretty big leak, and he did what he was supposed to do, report it to management. Management didn't like that, and was even about to write him up because these situations are the ones that cause delays, or grounded planes, in which case cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars. Well this major leak was a major brake fluid leak, and if this plane would have taken off and landed at Atlanta like management wanted it to, guess what? It wouldn't have been able to stop, causing a catastrophe taking many many lives with it. I'll let you in on another secret, it's regarding a man employed by delta airlines at this airport, he's a ramper just like me. This man is a well domcumented drunk, a functional alcoholic. I'll tell you how I know this, I worked with this individual not only at Delta, but at UPS on the same airport ramp. You can smell the alcohol on him from miles away, he constantly shows up to work drunk. At ups he showed up completely annihilated, to the point he couldn't even walk a straight line. Of course measures were taken and he was terminated, like in any other logical company you would work at. Well after this, I was concerned about my safety and the passengers safety, because this man jeopardizes not only all of our lives in the ramp, but every single one of your lives when you fly with Delta airlines. I'll get back to that in a second. After he was terminated from ups as I stated I reported this individual to delta management in regards to not only showing up drunk constantly to ups and getting fired from there for that same reason, but also showing up constantly drunk to Delta. Well not a week after I reported him to management, he ran someone over on our ramp, yes you read this correct he ran someone over on our ramp. This man was not drug tested, or any kind of disciplinary action was taken against him. Weeks after this incident this man hit his head on a plane, splitting his head wide open and bleeding all over the place, on two separate occasions, again he didn't get tested, or anything. Mind you once again Delta management knowing he's an alcoholic and shows up to work drunk constantly. Here's where your lives come in danger, this man is the one in charge of the loads of the plane, weights and balances, etc, etc. Well if you load the plane wrong and report the wrong loads, and weights, the captain has the wrong info and if the plane has the wrong weights and balances, it could easily cause this plane to come down and crash, causing a major catastrophe costing every persons life in that plane. We have nets in this plane to prevent the bags from shifting, so the weights don't shift around, which can also cause a major plane accident, and all it takes is for this man to not put those nets up to cause the plane to come down. Here I'll give you a few real life examples of what this man has done in regards to loads. He has loaded an entire plane wrong, with all the wrong loads. How happy would you be to come to your destination and not have your bag there? How happy are you with a massive delay because we had to unload the whole thing and re load it? Not very happy I would assume. He has also loaded a live animal on the wrong plane. How happy would you be if you come to find out your pet is in the middle of an airport you have no idea where it is, all alone, for no one to care for the animal, and scared to death. Or we can take it a step further. If the captain is unaware of a live animal he will not turn on the air and climate control on the cargo bin. How would you feel to come to your dead pet? I will let you in on one last thing, as airport personnel, we are all REQUIERED to pass extensive background checks, of course. Well this man, said by himself from his own mouth, had said he could not get an international seal for his airport badge because he couldn't pass the background checks. So for all we know, this man could be a terrorist correct? I mean what do we know, all we know is that he cannot pass the background checks implemented by our government. Please people, I hope all this makes you think twice before you give your hard earned money to one of the most expensive airlines out there, when they're really a low end place, with old outdated equipment. read more
