I've found the TSA in the John Wayne airport to be friendly and helpful. The lines can get long, most of the time the lines move quickly. There are 3 terminals and I've found if the terminal is busy you can go to the next terminal, sometimes the lines are shorter. John Wayne airport is easy to get in and out of. read more

TSA likes to power trip here, such a grumpy group of people especially in the morning. If you like to rush us and keep us moving of course we'll be more panicking when you guys were also yelling. I do not think yelling is necessary but they probably felt to do so to show authority even if we are already following protocols. It's just putting shoes and keys, because you didn't want us to grab another bin for it then yelled at us just for petty things. Plain rude when we were just passing by to get in the for maybe just 3 mins these people need anger management class or do some meditation. read more

Terrible. Was warned by the counter airline agent that the TSA bag check people might be uncooperative. Ticket check agent and body check agent seemed already aware I was late and was fast and expedient but then after that it was a nightmare. Voila. Happened just like the counter agent said. Like they took some joy in taking their time and finish chatting before moving to check bags. Threatened to not let me fly bc they felt I had a bad attitude. Not bc I actually did anything wrong. Airline gate check agents were great. Landed, double voila. They held up my checked bag just as the airline counter thought they would so will have to go back and get it at my arrival airport the next day. And to note, there had been a huge delay primarily due to traffic which may have been caused by a daylight robbery and homicide in Newport. Doesn't matter they said, even that would be MY fault. read more

I have always found TSA personnel to be very courteous and polite. They have a tough job to do, and they can't really afford to be joking around, so you need to understand that. Today, the experience was great. We had TSA PreCheck and it all went very smoothly. Almost no weight whatsoever. Excellent job! read more

I am so amazed with our TSA experience while leaving John Wayne Airport. From the initial TSA officer who check our ID and ask if Nathaniel enjoyed his Disneyland experience and commented that his lightsaber will not be a flight issue. He thank us for supporting the SoCal economy, and wished us a pleasant flight and come back to visit soon. Next step the conveyor belt to get our bags check and scanned. The officers asked us to stay with our bags and wait until the bags enter the scanner before we go thru the medal detector. As we were getting our bags an officer said have a safe trip and thank you. Wow is John Wayne the only airport that trains TSA, other airports get a clue. Thx for an awesome TSA experience. read more

I really love flying in and out of SNA airport. It is smaller, very nice, and relatively easy and quick. I've never had a problem at TSA and normally it doesn't take very long. Overall, my opinion on TSA is the majority of them aren't the most competent. Not trying to be mean, but it is true from comments they have made. This particularly TSA isn't as bad as others, but still have heard a few. Overall, they are very friendly and accommodating, so that is important. Great airport! read more

I fly out of this airport 3-4 times a month. I have found the TSA process at all three terminals to be easy and quick. The airport itself is great and seems to balance a smaller size with a nice offering of services. I have ran into a particular TSA agent, young, that gives massive attitude when checking id/ticket but unfortunately that is just going to be the case with a government type job and a large number of people. But I would have to give them high marks for consistency with being efficient, quick and making the process a non event. I can only speak to my experience so it looks like many people feel differently than me. read more

Overall we have had good experiences. I'm disabled with joint replacements so it's always a hassle. They are tight, strict, but don't abuse their power. They are friendly as much as they can be at such a serious post. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen for keeping us safe. read more

Super easy process. Staff was very nice and courteous. I had pre enrolled online and chose Walk-In instead of an appointment since the next appointment wasn't for 6 weeks. After arriving from a flight to SNA Monday morning, I stopped by this office in the way to baggage claim. There was one person finishing the process so I only had to wait about 2 min. I don't travel enough to be sponsored but enough that the $85 price (for 5 years) is so worth it ! read more

Worst TSA experience EVER!!!!!!! We had a hysterical toddler with separation anxiety. They not only double checked every single thing we had with us, but took FOREVER to do so! Two carry on bags, two suit cases, a car seat and stroller. Then one TSA lady proceeded to taunt my daughter. Two women checking the stroller and car seat, seemed to enjoy the fact that grandma could not calm the little one while she was screaming for Mommy. When my daughter took the stroller, after it was checked, one of the ladies came and took it back, only to give it back to us again when she was told it was already checked. One of the ladies checking the car seat/stroller told another worker, apparently I'm not going fast enough for her. TSA harassment at its best!!!!!! Thank God this was not my first time flying or I don't think I'll ever do it again! I'm a very nice person, but by the end of this event, I was very angry and very vocal about how the could of at least tried to make checking these tings a priority, or at the very least, not do it leisurely! I'm so upset I'm still shaking! read more

LOL I found a suspicious device and informed an agent at terminal 11. Female said she would call for assistance 20 min later no action I personally spoke to a male TSA agent He said it's not out responsibility only OC sheriff 30 min later no response Device still there ... read more

I appreciate the job that TSA has to do. They do provide us a safer airport and travel. They are pretty fast compared to other TSA airports and of course super fast if you have a Pre-Check TSA pass. read more

I just asked for an "opt out" so I wouldn't be radiated and the woman that did it was a mean, angry woman! I stayed quiet and respectful as it was quite obvious she was pissed she has to get up and work. I should have complained at that point. I laughed because she was condescending attitude and that set her off "what are you laughing at!!!!!???? This isn't funny!!!!!" Of course it made me laugh AT HER more. Completely unprofessional. I also do not like that they put your belongings through without you. I had to watch my stuff from the other side. I will always "opt out" of any government bull sh*t! read more

A women tsa agent at Irvine was confused and thought my bags were someone else's at the scanner... when I told her I'm not touching someone else's belongings she proceeded to give me an attitude and tell me to get to my bags as I was walking through the metal detector with my children... mind you I had a one year old in my arms and six year old holding my hand... I told her my husband has the bags but she still insisted I put through the bags while holding a child... I bit my lip and did as she asked... and then she again said " there's always one"... referring to me... I then said "excuse me?!"... and the agent made a scene and started yelling at me... i bit my lip again and moved on... how is this behavior ok? Do they not get I could have dropped my child while trying to move bags around??? - requesting a supervisor if this happens again... read more

I was TSA Pre-check approved so going thru ths TSA Pre-check line was great! The TSA folks had me thru security in a couple of minutes.

I felt very violated with the screening I was given upon entry to John Wayne Airport. I had just been sent there from Ontario Airport by the United Staff, and had already undergone security screenings there and was waved through without incident. Hours later when I went through the security screening at John Wayne, the TSA officer selected me for a pat down and proceeded to touch my crotch and inner legs repeatedly in front of everyone. I had nothing in my pockets, no belt. The procedure was completely unnecessary. I feel very violated and will be spreading the word to others about what happened there. Patting down legs I can understand; touching my crotch area 5 times is unacceptable. read more
