Not only did he drive her from Huntington Beach to LA with less than two hours notice, he was so nice about it. He kept me informed and my daughter said he was very friendly and professional. At 4:35 no cab. I called to see what was going on and the dispatcher told me the guy was probably waiting for me on the opposite side of my building. Then the driver calls me and we determine he's about a mile or so down the road. At 4:41 he pulls up and tells me he's cash only. No prior warning of this during any prior discussion with these guys, not enough cash on hand and no time to get more. Driver says he'll call someone that can take a card and drives away. At 4:47 I call dispatch to find out how long until the next guy shows up and the dispatcher doesn't know anything about it and is surprised by the cash only demand of the original cab driver. I told him to forget it and got in my car and drove while I could still make my flight. Cab companies are going the way of the VHS player, brick phone and fax machine and this is why cab companies will cease to exist in 5 years.
