I was in Altus (my hometown) for Memorial Day weekend and decided to stop in Western Sizzlin. Western Sizzlin just happens to be a favorite of my grandmother. I stopped in on Saturday the 25th of May around 3 pm and it was honestly the best time to eat. The place wasn't crowded and there were about six different groups of people eating. Altus Oklahoma, what can I say? Such an amazing and appealing experience to dine at a fine establishment. Fairly cheap and worth every penny. The bathrooms were AWESOME! The toilet was more than capable of handling the massive load that was dumped in it after the delicious meal. Ten out of ten bathroom experience, the only drop back was the height of the toilet. Would definitely recommend to anyone!! Get the French toast in the morning, it was great! read more

When I was a kid this place was the flame grilled amazing. I haven't seen one in decades. Now it's a full blown lesser version of Golden Corral. The chicken was good. But that is no way to treat a sirloin steak. read more

Came here bc we were in town for an event and our local Sizzlin shut down due to owners retiring. Two of us got the saddest looking, blandest tasting ribeye. The other person in our party had the buffet... she was unimpressed as well. If you're looking for standard basic institutional food, this is your place. But if you're looking for good food-- avoid. THE BATHROOM. I walked in the bathroom to proceed to use the potty. I walked in like any other person would. THERE WAS POO ON THE FLOOR. It was on the walls, the celing. every where. It looked like a 3yr old went wild. Just smeared everywhere. Im just confused how the staff didn't note this. Horrible. Last night my husband and I had the buffet. Tacos and Mexican food bland and out of a can. The blue cheese salad dressing wouldnt come out of the bottle. The prep line woman seen me having trouble and just looked away. The worst thing was the steaks were floating in a pool of blood. We went there last night ( a saturday) just for the steak. If the food is that bad , why would you want to go to a buffet? Nothing was worth eating. Even the rolls were dry. Fried chicken was ok but dry. My husband says on a scale from 1-10 the ribs were a 6. I didnt have them but should have. 25 dollars for 2 people to eat bad food. Wont do it again. I ate there this time last year and it was very very bad then and bad now. I will have fast food next time. Its better. Actually hospitable cafeterias and school cafeterias are better. Just dont do it. All you can eat is out of style anyways. read more

Best Buffet hands down around the country. Food fresh, delicious, and a wide variety of healthy and hearty choices. I travel for work allot, and this was a phenomenal find. Don't sleep on their breakfast, best breakfast buffet I've had on a weekend in Altus. Just go there early before the rush.

What you would expect from a buffet. Average selection. Average layout. Average food. Average service. I've eaten there twice in two years of Altus. I may eat there again one day. If you can't eat a thanksgiving amount of food then there is no use going to a buffet. My suggestion is try it once. Maybe you'll have a more than average experience. read more

Wednesdays are senior dinner nights which makes it cheaper to eat there for those 65 and over. The price range for adult buffets is between $9 and $10 per person. They do not give military discount, which is a shame because I bet more servicemen would eat there. Formerly Austin Steakhouse and Saloon, Western Sizzlin' still serves up great food that tastes like it was cooked right at home. You will definitely be treated right if you come here. For the most part...this was an unpleasant experience. Other than our waitress, the staff were unfriendly and had absolutely no customer service skills. The food was some of the worst. Overcooked was the theme for the evening and nearly everything was cold. We did enjoy the clown. He seemed genuinely interested in the overall customer experience. read more

A solid three is all I can give to Western Sizzling in Altus, Ok. The Good: The service we recieved from our server Jillian and the counter person was great. They answered.any questions we had and fulfilled all the requests. Our server was very personable. I hated that we had to pay upfront. I had no cash.and I used my debit card. This server deserved a tip in the 20% range. So great job on service. Bad: The food could be so much better. Maybe Thursday is a slow day which allow food to be out longer, but having the food look and taste old is a very bad thing. Please process it out or place out smaller portions until rush time. I wanted a pie, but the pies were not cold. They were being kept at room temperature. This sucks. I had a great taste.for a cream pie, and I would not attempt to taste a warm cream pie. THE UGLY: Please have someone police the bathroom at least once an hour and clean up the.mess. The bathroom all in all was clean with the exception of dried mud, and wet paper towels everywhere. This is ugly because a person can totally crap the restroom and there is no check to keep it clean. Also, the.place is depressing. There is nothing on the wall to catch your eyes or bright colors that would encourage you to eat more. The walls are pea green. Why would you allow this? The place makes me sad just being there. So please fix this. To recap, SUPER CUSTOMER SERVICE. GREAT EMPLOYEES. Provide fresher food, Police the restroom at least once an hour, and make the place more inviting to customers. read more

Environment is fine but seriously this is trough food. If you feel the need to dine with the cattle, then this is the place to do it. I have to say that people here locally don't get out enough to think that this food is good. Now the individual orders that are not from the buffet do taste a bit better. However I have seen them actually pull buffet food to fill them...so it's pot luck if it's fresh or not. If you NEED a lot of food in order to function, eat here. If you actually want to go someplace and pay for good food, eat someplace else. read more

We've been here about ten times and twice the waitress sucked (no refills, no utensils, didn't offer anything really until we'd already been there for 15 minutes. Disappointed - I used to go here as a kid when we wanted to go out of town (I don't live in Altus) and it was much better as a kid but we waited 30 mins for someone to to come to the cotton candy machine and tell us that they can't make it then the ice cream machine wouldn't work and the lady who had to fix it rolled her eyes and acted as if she didn't wanna be there and the food was sorta cold and nothing like it was also the chicken and macaroni tasted like it dirt they were both cold and undercooked and then when asked for more silverware the lady rolled her eyes again and got us 4 more I am very disappointed and will not be going back ever although the drinks and chocolate fountain were good the food tasted like dirt and the prices for this place is very expensive don't recommend! read more

I loved everything about this place! From the greeters to the waiters. Very clean and delicious breakfast and dinner! Steak is amazing!

I can't say much good about lunch and dinner here, but the breakfast buffet is surprisingly really well done. Go to the weekend breakfast buffet sometime, well worth it. read more
