There were multiple explanations such as small nerve branches which did not respond to a number of numbing medicines including Lidocane, We are new to Auburn and began seeing Dr. Wallace about a year ago. The first thing I discovered was that this great dentist could not only get my teeth numb, but also uses a procedure to inject the medicine which is amazingly PAIN FREE. I am in the process of having 10 crowns performed (7 are implants). The work so far has been brilliant. No pain. Further, the treatment plan has been coordinated carefully with Dr. Hakimi of Auburn for the extractions, dental implant surgery and the timing of the placement of the crowns. The entire process has been coordinated between the dental offices seamlessly. Further, our daughter who had received an opinion and outrageous quote for a procedure plan for 12 teeth, drove up from the bay area to see Dr. Wallace. He found that only a few teeth actually required treatment and performed the procedures for a very reasonable fee. I am 67 years old and have been treated by numerous dentists in the San Francisco Bay Area. These dentist all came very highly recommended and charged mind blowing fees. Not one of these dentists performed the procedures any better than 'Dr. Wallace and in some cases the quality of the work was materially less than received from Dr. Wallace and with terrible pain. Personally I needed more dental work than expected from the start, but, Smiles kept me in the loop, dental removal of wisdom teeth completed, 4 crowns applied. I was offered options and reasons for one or another of choices. Having a conversation with the clinician in any medical setting is the right thing to do. Getting second opinions, if there are concerns, is also the right thing to do. Patients need to remember that asking for a little extra medication to deaden the root systems prior to fillings, crowns, and removals is the right thing to ask for. If a patient is older and sensitive to teeth removals, ask for conscious sedation, especially if you are having dental "surgery". My Careington 1 plan helped me to save money and Sierra Smiles is the only dental office that accepts that plan. Very good job, from my experiences.
