Bed bugs bites from the hotel, also on my fiancée arms and legs and mine too
Minh L.

PLEASE IF YOU READ THIS AVOID AT ALL COSTS THIS PLEASE NEED TO CLOSE DOWN THIER BUSINESS!!!! There are bed bugs all over the bed. Me and my fiancée got bit like insane, thanks God our 7th month old kid didn't really got it or legally I would've do something. The services are totally trash, towels are dirty, and the carpet is filthy. I can't express myself enough, you need to AVOID this place I already reported the incident to numerous agencies, this is NOT okay.

Patio was filthy!!

This place is a DUMP!! Overpriced for what you get. We were in King Suite room #52. It's a ground floor room and dog friendly. Room is spacious but the decor was terrible. Needs updating for sure. Could use a coffee table and another lamp as it was dark and dreary. Called the front desk asking for another lamp BUT no one ever brought one. The walls and baseboard need to be wiped down big time. Grout job in bathroom was lousy, I could have done a better job than that. Had to ask for more towels, went up to get them from front desk. Towel rack was flimsy and felt unsafe like it was going to fall off the wall. Patio was FILTHY!! Needed to be hosed down badly. Grass outback was very dried up and unkept as well as weeds full of goat head thorns, which is awful for anyone but especially if you paid $35 a night extra to have your dog with you, you can't even walk them around and potty them due to thorns. The trash dumpster was overflowing. Owners need to pay the extra for more dumpsters in order to keep up with the trash guests generate. In addition dumpsters need be inside an enclosure as no one enjoys seeing and smelling garbage. The pool had a lovely murky green tint to it. Saw some guests in it but no way were we drawn to taking a dip. OVERPRICED for what you get, even though its the most affordable in the area not worth it. Next time I'll pay more and stay somewhere else. Only thing positive I have to say is its in a great location and the bedsheets and towels were clean. Two thumbs and 1 paw down on this place!

Bed bug bite

This is a WORST hotel, please do avoid especially if you have children. They're bed bugs and we got bit like crazy. Feel so disgusting and nasty. I have counted 50+ bites since returning home! This is completely unacceptable. Not only were we staying in a disgusting hotel we've now brought it home with our luggages and old clothes. Now needing to reach out to an exterminator meaning more money and headache. Also, apparently this topic has been mentioned in previous reviews, YEARS AGO. And they chose not to addressed it. I will be contacting the health department. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL, THEY NEED TO CLOSE DOWN THEIR BUSINESS.

The filth on the floors !
Paul H.

DO yourself a FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PLACE! It started off with the front desk girl at check-in being rude and impolite! She refused to let me know where we would be staying ! She Gave me a room with bed bugs and dirty linen ! The floors were dirty and practically no water pressure to take a shower ! THE ROOM SMELLED OF URINE ! I can see why they make you sign a NO REFUNDS disclaimer at check -in ! My Wife didn't sleep all nite from being attacked by bed bugs ! So much for having a great time at Sequoia! The front desk lady with 1 tooth at checkout couldn't care less about my concerns. And informed me that the "Manager was unavailable" I will be contacting the health department on this dump! They owe us a refund for the two days we did t stay there ! COMPLETE DUMP!

Dead roach behind the bed
Krystal A.

Would not recommend this place at all. We were scammed the rooms were so disgusting dirty, the bed sheets had stains, behind the bed were dead roaches. We were not given towels when we asked for them they were filthy. We confronted the owner about the stained sheets and the filth and he denied everything that was clean and that he clean the room for us, and change the sheets and that he can't give us a refund. To top it off we had one room with no working toilet and it took about 5 hours for them to fix the toilet. It was just a bad experience and they charged us so much. The reviews from this place is so true it's a horrible place. Please do not stay at this place the service, the stay is horrible and the owners are horrible you can tell they are money hungry at this place. Horrible place!

A wonderful place to reset, refocus, & realign! The staff here were so welcoming, friendly and made my stay perfect. Room rate: $185/night…read more Positives The office staff seemed friendly. Overall, the grounds were nice. The proximity to Lake Kaweah was an added plus. The outward appearance of the motel seemed pleasant. It is also a great location to access Sequoia NP. That said, there were numerous issues. We were assigned to unit #1 (closest to the office), which I DO NOT recommend for the following reasons: 1) Initially, the hot water in the room was lukewarm at best. We asked them to adjust it which they did. It went from low lukewarm to medium lukewarm. Barely warm enough to take showers. Ironically the room instructions say guests are supposed to wash dishes before check out or be charged a fee. How clean can the dishes get with lukewarm water? Should the health and well-being of subsequent guests rely on how well previous guests wash dishes with lukewarm water? We're paying almost $200/night and have to wash dishes? 2) There is a charge for ice. Never came across this before, ever. See photo of guest instructions. We're paying almost $200/night and have to pay extra for ice? 3) Cabin/unit 1 is closest to a pen where they keep sheep and goats on site. The view of the lake is obscured by 1) the sheep pen, 2) a large bush 3) two large trees and 4) a window half covered with water spots (made even worse in the morning with glare from the morning sun. The trees provided shade, the bush didn't. Other cabins had the benefit of bushes that were trimmed for better visibility. Not sure why we got this cabin when others were available when we checked in. Several other parties checked in on Saturday (the day after we did) so other cabins were available at the time we checked in. 4) No TV remote in the bedroom. Had to download a remote app to control volume and on/off. TV instructions (in the living room) as written, did not work. The TV went dark without notice and didn't respond to the remote control. It responded to turning it off and back on - sometimes. There were other times that only way to get the TV to respond was by unplugging it, wait a minute or two and plugging it back in. These were daily issues. Multiply that by the number of days you're there and annoying doesn't begin to describe the frustration. While watching the NBA finals, the TV shutoff with 6:00 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. Wasn't able to get it to turn on again. Seriously? Note the photo of cables and extension cords hanging from the TV. Not a very neat appearance and could be a safety hazard. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring TV issues? 5) When the toilet clogged and I reported it to the front desk, I was handed a plunger and a plastic bag to put it in afterwards. Seriously? Never cleared a toilet in a hotel before. Usually, maintenance handles that. We're paying almost $200/night and have to unclog the toilet? 6) On Saturday 6/14, we notified the office of water on the floor under the frig. On Sunday 6/15, we were in Sequoia NP all day, so the unit was available for someone to look at the frig. We arrived back at the room around 4:00 p.m. Water was still on the floor under the frig. Water was in the grout lines all over the floor. Same thing happened on 6/17. We were in Kings Canyon all day. When we got back the grout lines around the frig were wet again (see photos). If anyone looked at the frig there was no communication letting us know. We're paying almost $200/night to have recurring leaks under the frig? 7) There is an envelope in the room so that you can leave housekeeping a tip. If you're simply doing your job, that's not worthy of a tip. Given the cob webs and water spots on the windows they are not doing their job. Note - all units are single story making the windows reachable to be cleaned. Not sure why they don't clean the window during their housekeeping rounds or in between guests. 8) One window in the living room with an a/c unit had a cluster of dead insects and spider webs on the outside surface (see photo). Not the most appealing thing to look at. We're paying almost $200/night to look at dead insects and spider webs? 9) On a Monday morning 6/16 (our third morning) my wife showed me photos of roaches in both the bathroom and the kitchen. See photos. Given the lack of response to the leaking frig, I opted to get a can of bug spray from the front office and spray the kitchen and bathroom myself. I wasn't about to live with this nastiness one minute longer than necessary. Photos also show the dead ones the following morning. No urgency from the front desk when I asked for bug spray. They made a note for the Terminex man. No immediate action was taken. Almost $200/night to deal with roaches? I do not recommend this place.

The "jacuzzi" is more of a bubbly hot tub, which was relaxing after a hike in the nearby forest. The tub in our room had a nicely sloped back, making it easy to recline for a long soak. Breakfast buffet is adequate with the usuals: scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, fruit, and juice. I'm not picky about coffee, but I walked next door for a better cup of joe. Rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a budget hotel -- not glamorous, but clean, with a comfortable bed and a newer TV. Standard channels only; I didn't see options for streaming from a laptop (no obvious HDMI/streaming hookups). Customer service earns an A+. Our first room had only warm water (not hot enough for a proper post-hike soak). Maintenance came up promptly and agreed, and the front desk offered us a different room immediately. We moved and enjoyed a hot soak and shower right away. Not a romantic getaway spot, but a dependable, affordable choice if you're traveling with kids or want a clean, comfortable place to stay

Comfort Inn & Suites Sequoia Kings Canyon is a fine choice, if you come into this, knowing it's not anything special. You're basically staying here due to its close proximity to the entrance of Sequoia National Park, which is a win. When planning our hiking trip around the area, we always look for where we can stay that's not far from where we're hiking. Three Rivers seems to be one of the best towns you can stay in when visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon, making it closer than larger cities, but the lodging options will be more slim. I get that. We were able to find Comfort Inn & Suites Sequoia Kings Canyon, which is the only hotel chain in town and was busy the weekend we were here. It's a standard Comfort Inn that's minimal and you enter your room from the outside, not a lobby. Nothing fancy, but it works. Pros: powerful AC, mini fridge in room, HBO, breakfast included, perfect location Cons: ants in the room, unkept building, flimsy mattress

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.
