We stayed here during out last trip to Sequoia National Park. The property is just beautiful, and being close to the river is nothing short of spectacular. The River Jewel is truly a gem. Our party reserved the Sequoia Charmed and Kaweah Gem Suites during our visit. I loved that each suite was walking distance to the river and that were lots of places to sit and relax on the way there. I stayed in the Sequoia Charmed Suite. There was a tiny balcony that overlooked the river. The outdoor kitchen was great. There were bikes to borrow, and there was even a ping pong table. The suite was adorable with a tiny kitchenette and a large pullout sofa. We really liked these beautiful suites. The owner, Diana, was thoughtful, and the suites were big, beautiful, and really relaxing. For our next stay in Three Rivers, I would love to stay at this lovely property again. read more

Our 2nd visit to River Jewel suites confirmed we'll be returning year after year! Hosts Diana & Larry have thought of everything! Our suite, The Kaweah Gem, was fully stocked with luxury towels; mini fridge, coffee maker & rapid heating electric water kettle for tea, hot chocolate, etc. Bedding was luxurious & comfortable! Shared outdoor kitchen had everything you could imagine & we were able to BBQ after a quick trip to the local grocery store. The privacy & river views are beyond special. On line pics don't reflect updates to the suite, teal carpet replaced with darker tile. Diana also accommodated our request to bring a masseuse on site for massages by the river. Stayed in the annex house and it was perfect! If you are second guessing booking this place, BOOK IT NOW! Diana was an amazing host- we arrived late and she had the fireplace and lights on for us! Amazing! This is what a home away from home should be like. We stayed in the Sequoia Charm which is in the back, next to the awesome outdoor kitchen. It's an upstairs place with a balcony and adorable decorations. Markets and restaurants are close by. When we were there, however, the bakery across the street from the property was closed even though sign says open 7 days. No biggie. You can make your own coffee in your room. We cooked our dinner in the outside kitchen. So awesome! But please clean up afterwards because there are bears in the area! We saw a momma bear and her 2 cubs, two days in a row. Loved it! The dogs are super friendly and sweet. They hung out with us until the owner called them. We sat by the river for hours just enjoying nature. As an added bonus, we saw the full moon coming up from behind the mountain. If you're ever in Three Rivers visiting the gorgeous Sequoia National Park, you should stay here. My wife and I stayed in the Annex for my 50th birthday. When we walked in they had the little fire heater (fake but added to the wonderful atmosphere), and music playing in the background. The place is super nice. The decorations, the artwork, the Bed...oh the bed, oh so warm and comfy! There was coffee, a frig and cabinet full of condiments, ice and water in the frig and freezer, BBQ and fire-pit outside. Games inside. Did I mention the bed...ahhhh. Everything was the highest quality. Would have been nice to have a hotplate and/or toaster oven. We walked down to the river numerous times, to sit and enjoy nature. The boys (Cold and Braun?) came with us to hang out and get in some scratches from us. Located close enough to town to be convenient but no noise, and the park (go early to avoid the line at the gate). We have NEVER had such a nice place to stay! This level of comfort, privacy, atmosphere, will be tough to ever find again (until we return here that is). We loved it! read more

These suites are a hidden gem in three rivers. We showed up with no reservation and Diana was nice enough to come to her property and show us the two river side suites she had available. They are in the same building, one is upstairs and the other one which we chose is downstairs (Kaweah Suite). Walking into the suite is like walking into someone's fully stocked home. Complete with cookware, microwave, stocked mini fridge, full size freezer and refrigerator, electric fireplace, bikes, and two person shower. You also get a pathway which leads down to the river and provided chairs and outdoor grill. I'm sure i'm forgetting other items but Diana seems to have thought of everything. The suites have a california king bed and pull out couch bed. The only gripe I have is the shower water pressure being very low, but everything else is perfect. Very peaceful place to vacation and I can't ask more from a vacation rental. Definitely give this place a try. read more

Just got back from 3 rivers and you couldn't ask for a better location. The room we had was wonderful with a double shower facing the river with a picture window. Can't beat it. My husband and I stayed in the Kawea Gem suite May 18-20, during our trip to visit Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks. Kawea Gem was awesome - so spacious and luxurious, with everything we could possibly need. The Kawea river is right there behind the property, and they have multiple sitting/lounging areas to enjoy the view and sounds. At the time of our trip, all rivers/waterfalls in the area were running high and full, due to all the snow over the winter, and therefore, the current snow melt. River was too high for us to go into, but sounds like many people do when the river is lower. The grounds are beautiful, with an outdoor kitchen, firepit (which we used on a chilly night), grills. We had our meals in all three nights so we could spend maximum time here, and the facilities are great for that! Also, attention to detail is so noticeable....bed sheets were high quality, paper products were name brands, AC was on cooling the suite, with relaxing music on the satellite TV, water and snacks in the kitchenette, guide books on Sequoia NP ... just a perfect place. Hope we get to return one day. read more

this place is so great. the river is RIGHT THERE. and the suite kaweah gem was so comfy. the shower was so neat, having 2 shower heads was so nice, no one had to wait to take a shower after the refreshing swim in the river. bikes are available to ride. it was a bad idea for us, 108 was too hot for a bike ride...we rode, and thought we would die. we visited sequoia, it was beautiful and then we got to come back here at the end of the day and go for a swim, and get pizzas. we saw Diana, the owner, a couple times, she was very nice and informative, couldn't ask for better. read more

From the first moment we got here to the moment we left we were blessed. When we first walked in, we remembered why we came back. The room was tastefully and beautifully decorated. This was our second time staying here and we were even more blessed this time! My wife, being 9 months pregnant, was in great need of some R&R. She got it! The bed was so comfortable, the bedding was beautiful. The sheets were so soft and silky. (Having three kids at home, she hasn't slept a lot in six years. She slept more than 11 hours, the first night!) The shower is also another amenity we love! There are two shower heads and a huge picture window looking out at the river. Taking a shower while looking at the river was spectacular. The perimeter was also stupendous. There are ample places to sit and watch / listen to the river flow. There's a bbq for those who want it. There are even comfortable chairs right on the water. (My wife and I went to a local sandwich shop with what we feel is the best food in town and brought it back to sit our chairs right in the water. Our lunch was peaceful and cool.) To add to all of this was the little details. In addition to a kitchenette with some dishes, silverware, cups and wine glasses, we also found cold water bottles in the fridge and some accessories like paper plates, zip lock bags and even some fresh fruit, coffee and food bars! It may not be the Ritz, but it is even better because here you didn't even need to ask and your needs were anticipated. To top everything off, Larry and Diana are awesome! They are considerate and kind and make you feel like they want you here. They say hello when they see you, and if they are home when you arrive, they welcome you like you are their close friends not seen in a long time. My review does not give The River Jewel justice because there are so many things that I could rave about. The only negative is the fact that we had to leave. Our checkout was bitter sweet because we didn't want to go. The River Jewel is, by far, the most comfortable place we have ever stayed. We are sure that if you give it a try you will love it just as we do! read more

We stayed in the Annex, which is not on the river. Its is a beautiful and sizable suite, nicely decorated, body spray shower, comfortable bed with sheets to die for (Diane said they were i think 1500 thread count---felt like silk). No stove or oven, but everything else you'd want, and there's a propane bbq. This is just a fabulous place to stay, and a short drive to the entrance to Sequoia National Park. Diane is helpful and welcoming. If you eat out, try the Ol' Buckaroo. Good food, decent wines. read more

This place is absolutely amazing!!!! We stayed in the Kaweah Gem suite to celebrate our 18th anniversary! Once we walk in and the back yard!!! Oh my, I was speechless and Diana showed us around the property!! It can't get anything better than this!!! The river is just right there!!! You have the full kitchen right outside and everything that you need!!! We really enjoyed waking up in the morning having coffee right by the river!! At night time in front of the suite the tree lights up! It's beautiful!!! I have not seen so many stars at night!! It's truly a hidden gem! Thank you so much, Diana!! Spent three wonderful days at the River Jewel. The accommodations are right by the river and the water rushing over the rocks is so very relaxing. The rooms are extremely well decorated and maintained. You feel you are isolated and away from civilization but can walk in a few minutes to a restaurant. Many others might feel the same way about this gem of a site to stay. It was hard to believe that all of the positive comments could actually be true -- but they are. We stayed in the Annex Suite, just off the highway. I was concerned that it would not be peaceful due to the location. But we really never heard any traffic. Although we were a little disappointed that we were not able to get one of the suites along the river, That soon disappeared when we realized the level of privacy and comfort we could enjoy in the annex. Plus, the river is a sort walk away. Everything in the Annex is of the highest quality ... granite counter tops; high ceilings; huge TV; artificial fireplace; beautiful bathroom with body sprays; coffee pot (and coffee, but no filters); plenty of utensils for dining; kitchenette with microwave and full size refrigerator; a private patio with BBQ grill, seating, table, and hammock; and a very comfortable bed. Loved the wonderful Starbucks coffee mugs -- wish I had one all my own!! Although Three Rivers is not a big town, this is conveniently located to all it has to offer. It is also close to the entry gate of Sequoia Park. read more

We stayed here for a long weekend may 2016 after a 2 week trip to all the area national parks. Needed a relaxing stay after a vigorous hiking trip. After the drive down from Wuksachi lodge in Sequoia National Park, the Annex at River Jewel Suites was just what we needed. The Annex is very private, furnished like a home, and has everything you could possibly need and more. Diana's attention to detail cannot be overstated. How lovely to have fresh fruit, coffee supples, snack bars and even refrigerator items including half and half for coffee. Love the battery lantern and flashlight for evening strolls. The outdoor area is so perfect for outdoor eating and lounging by the fountain in a hammock. This area is also very private. It is a very short walk to the river where there are numerous lovely seating areas. If you prefer to be right on the river, there are equally nice accommodations right over the river. We even had the opportunity to have a brief visit with Diana and family. Really lovely people. We have stayed elsewhere in Three Rivers but this is well named as River Jewel--it can't be beat!!!
