West Street Grille opened in December 2022 in the former Little Harry's Restaurant in Downtown Rutland. This bar and restaurant serves up an interesting variety of small plates, large plates, salads, soups, chowder, and desserts. Some of their offerings include tuna poke & wontons, roasted beet & burrata salad, New England clam chowder, chicken cordon bleu eggrolls, wings, crab cakes, enchiladas, pork osso bucco, ravioli diablo, scirocco burger (short rib patty), NY strip steak, bone-in pork loin, stuffed chicken with linguine, and others. The bar offers 3 beers on tap including Foley Brothers (brewed locally in Brandon), mixed drinks, and cocktails. There is a TV over the bar and another TV with a Bruce Lee and Bob Marley posters on each side on the back wall. There are lots of mini liquor bottles decorated on the top of the bar area. I stopped by West St Grille recently for a light dinner. I was asked if I had a reservation when I got here, which didn't seem to make sense since the dining areas with a few tables and plenty of high tops was not crazy busy. I proceeded to the bar and took a seat there with 4. Couples were arriving here and they were offered high top tables only since three regular tables had diners. The bartender promptly took my drink order while I decided what to eat. I went with the Cubano ($18 plus tax) which came out to me in under 10 minutes. The good sized Cubano had lean pork loin, carved ham, melted Swiss cheese, pickles, and a spicy mustard on a toasted French baguette bread (crisp on the outside/soft bread texture inside). The semi thick fries were hot and crispy, salted too. The Cubano sandwich was very good and not greasy like at most other places. I finished my food quickly since I was hungry from the long drive. The check was $19.80 with tax (cash price) or $20.35 (credit price) before tip. I definitely paid cash and all good!

People were nice and food was good. Was expecting the tuna sandwich to be different but it wasn't bad. Prices and portions were decent. The drinks are strong

This restaurant is an almost hidden gem. The haddock tacos were the best I have had. The waiters was great. Service was great. I recommend.

We left so glad that we picked it! The restaurant is small with a limited number of high tops inside, a bar, and a few tables outside. The decorations and vibes are adorable. We were impressed from start to finish. Peter, our waiter, was friendly and chatty (without being too chatty), which we really appreciated, and he definitely nailed small-town Vermont charm. One of us ordered the Salty Chihuahua drink. It was tasty and very well priced. One of us started with a small green salad which was loaded with olives and feta- yum!! There was not a single bite of food that wasn't delicious. It blew us away. We ordered three entrees: chicken sliders, grande salad, and a special: the summer squash skillet, which we added meatballs to. We will be talking about and figuring out what was in those meatballs for years to come. The dishes were on the smaller side, but the prices reflect the amazing quality of the food. We are three New Yorkers with lots of opinions and high standards when it comes to what we eat. Brix exceeded those standards. We have a ski condo on Stratton and don't often make the drive into Rutland, but any time we do, it's guaranteed we will be eating at Brix.

I only assume she ran the kitchen- and she was NOT happy with the staff. One person even told her he wouldn't be talked to that way anymore. It was extremely tense and we were all uncomfortable. Her screaming orders and belittling staff was louder than any music or conversation. Waitresses were cringing taking orders trying to hear over her. We were there on a Saturday night at 6pm and they ran out of small pizzas and calzones as we sat down. One person got poutine that was ice cold, and the gravy was sour with no taste and cold. Chicken wings were just large breaded chicken tenders with some sauce drizzled over the top of them. Not great atmosphere with the incredible demeaning kitchen staff and food was not good.

For our mains, I went with the classic arroz con pollo, which was so good, just the perfect comfort food. My companion got the guava-glazed pork shank, which was incredible- I don't think I have ever seen anything similar on another menu! The cocktail menu also had a lot of fun options- I got the guava martini, which was excellent.
