We came here on a Sunday night - we were four - we wanted laughs. We ordered drinks (alcoholic and non) and then some fish tacos and guacamole and dips. There were 5 stand ups - a few were funny but one was offensive and terrible. Start talking trash about what's going on in the Middle East and more. They should have yanked him off the stage. I ran into him when I went to the ladies room and he wanted to get into a discussion with me about it (I said something to him). I told him people came here to laugh not to get political. That was such a turn off! My friend went to tell the manager that they should have taken him off the stage - and he said they didn't know this comic and he clearly had an agenda. Next time folks, do yourself a favor - remove a comic like this from the stage. It is downstairs from Playa Betty which I thought was cool. read more

This place probably given me pneumonia. Went there for Zarna Garg show. She was fantastic as always. This review is only for the facility. We were seated at the back. The temperature that night was at 50s. They have the AC ON FULL BLAST. Everyone around me had their huge jacket on. But the air was blowing directly to my head and back. I told the waiter. He replied that "its a club" sarcastically. He also said "I can give you my hoodie" in a condescending way. My friend asked to speak to the manager. Then a female manager came and asked who's feeling cold. Funny. I told her and she said I'll turn the heat up. 5 min later, the AC was turned up when I thought it was on full blast already. Avoid at all cost. Worst comedy club ever. Felt uncomfortable the whole time when I paid a lot to enjoy the comedian that I love. read more

The comedians and set were pretty good, definitely worth coming back. However, my gripe is with drinks/service. The waitress brought over the wrong drink a "negroni" which was clear and smelled of pineapple and stated that's the correct drink and that's just how the bartender makes them. Then when asked to grab another drink instead she said she'll be back to never be seen again. I ordered "Spicy Virgin Margarita" - be honest, have you tried this drink before putting it on the menu? It was 75% sour mix with a splash of club. If you order drinks don't confuse the wait staff, go simple. read more

My experience was very disappointing. I went on a Saturday night. Most of the comedians in the lineup weren't funny. The talent level didn't meet my expectations given New York City's comedy scene. I've seen much funnier comedians at other comedy clubs in the city. Also, the vibe inside the club wasn't lively at all. The club is quite large with a good number of seats but the problem was half of the seats were empty so it just didn't feel like a lively packed club at all, which was surprising for a Saturday night. Lastly, the food was horrible and overpriced! I believe they serve food from the restaurant upstairs/next door. Their queso was literally the worst I've ever had. I could make better queso at home myself. It was served lukewarm and tasted like someone who has never made queso in their life made it. The burrito I ordered was bland and the churro ice cream sandwich was alright but small for the price. "The Joe & Joe Show" starring Joe DeVito & Joe Machi, along with Kyle Ocasio and Sean Donnelly blew the sold out audience away. If you like Joe DeVito & Joe Machi on TV and on their Youtube channels, you'll love them in person. Can't wait for another New York City appearance. The audience was made up of a number of the best comedy writers, talent and producers. in NYC. Couples from three different Countries and fresh faces, to the Club, triggered by the two headliners who are national TV Comedy names, rounded out the packed showroom. The wait staff was courteous, efficient, smiling and attentive, making what greeted the audience, on the way out, so unfortunate and, shall we say, an insult to Dale Carnegie and a return to this venue unlikely. A short, let's be kind, middle age, women, barked out commands at the people who pay her salary to move faster, as we all headed up the stairs and out of the club, "keep going, we've got to close up" yada, yada, yada. Monitoring a few classes at the Wharton School Of Business might have helped this, self-important, Queen & Commandant of the West Side Comedy Club understand that the way to insure this sizable group of new customers to return, would have been, perhaps: "We hope you enjoyed the evening, thank you for coming. we look forward to seeing you again soon" rather then: we've got your money now hurry up and get out of here. Food is good but don't come hungry. The service is so bad you may have to wait 90 minutes for a salad. The servers are overwhelmed or incompetent, likely both, real problem makers . I have been here a few times (all for MVP nights on saturdays) and if you want to laugh, you will get that here. I have loved every comedian I've seen so far and I love that you can see the comedians after - it's not a formal thing, but they hang around and are super cool. There is a two drink minimum per person - that doesn't have to be alcohol, it can be Diet Coke or something. My boyfriend and I didn't know that the first time we went, so that was a bummer, but now that we know, we are more than happy to oblige since we know we're always in for a good show. My fiancé and I decided to go to West Side Comedy Club for his 30th birthday. We made a reservation for a large group online received a prompt response that our reservation was confirmed. Upon arriving around 7:30pm, we were quickly taken to our reserved table. You enter the comedy club itself through Playa Betty's and make your way to the lower level. The atmosphere was perfect; modern, clean, great lighting. We had great attentive waitresses who constantly checked on our group. The comedians were fantastic. Having not been to many comedy clubs before, they exceeded our expectations. Lots of laughs and a great show, we really enjoyed ourselves. After the comedians was also a fantastic singer which was a bonus for sure. In order to exit, you settle your tab (which includes the cover) and you receive an exit ticket as proof of payment. Great date night spent here! It is a small place located in the basement of Playa Betty's. My boyfriend and I had a little bit of trouble finding the place until we saw a fellow Yelp reviewer's tip to look for the restaurant first. The staff is friendly and even had us laughing. Check-in process was smooth and we had no problem finding seats at all. We did look ahead at previous reviews and we were informed about the 2 drink minimum. After the show, we were even offered a free shot from the restaurant on our way out! We came on an "MVP" night so we knew it was going to be a good show. Performed here at 8pm on Tuesday Sept 3rd for the Fresh off the boat comedy show. The place is beautiful, spacious and clean. The entire staff was friendly and kind. The Baja tacos were fresh and seasoned deliciously. The manager of the show Lori was so professional and kind. She literally made me feel like family the minute I walked through the door. Being new to the city it's always refreshing to meet such a endearing soul with great people skills. I definitely will be returning to see a show or two. As a comedian, it is hard to find a venue that is open to letting you bring your own productions to. I was very lucky to receive an email from Gina from WSCC and she was accepting on the idea of my Adult Variety Show. I could not be happier to have found this new comedy gem in the Big Apple. After catching the amazingly talented Tom Kelly at ABC's The View this morning, I did not hesitate to check out his performance at West Side Comedy Club tonight! I had a feeling West Side Comedy Club would offer that same hilarious, genuine, and warm humor - and they certainly did. The venue is absolutely fantastic. You can't do any better than a spacious, yet intimate venue below the delicious Playa Betty restaurant. The service was wonderful. Owner, Eugene, and his team are so kind, friendly and attentive to every need. It's like that little local spot where everyone is so nice and makes you feel right at home. I ordered two whiskey based cocktails that were very well done. The two carne asada and fish tacos I ordered were also the perfect size and very flavorful. The comedians were beyond hilarious. Each and every one of them kept the audience captivated and laughing like there was no tomorrow. I loved how each comedian had their own unique story line and kept bringing the jokes so naturally with the audience. Ryan Reiss and Tom Kelly were my absolute favorites. They did an awesome job keeping the crowd entertained, laughing, and gasping for air. I would totally return to West Side Comedy Club to see them again. We went to a 10 p.m. show on a Saturday night, which they touted as featuring the "MVPs." Imagine your favorite Jazz bar. Now add your favorite comedians. The atmosphere here allows for dim lighting and a slight bit of anonymity. If you're the shy type that may love enjoying watching live comedy you can find your place next to the full/giant bar which has a clear view of the acts. There is a bar above the comedy club so this visit I was able to enjoy a night cap after the show and (embarrassing) try not to glare at some of the comedians after the show. Every first Saturday of the month they host a wild wild west. The line up is hilarious and the venue is cozy. I love the humor and it's a no holds barred. I laugh till I can't laugh anymore. The comedians are all friendly and sit near the audience so you can go up and talk to them and thank them for the laughs. Great atmosphere all around. The venue is very chill and very enjoyable. Will wild west humor is not for the faint of heart, it's straight up and blunt. read more
