I've been dying to try out this creamery, but was pretty disappointed after all the hype. Three of us tried different things: 1) the brownie sundae 2) 2 scoops of chocolate and strawberry 3) waffle bowl with coffee and caramel. All of our ice creams were ice-bitten. We aren't certain but there is some kind of cherry flavor in the brownie or drizzled on top of it, which was overpowering to say the least. Super friendly and patient staff. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. We'll stick to downtown WG for fresher Hershey's ice cream. read more

I've driven past the West Orange Creamery many times since I moved to Gotha a few months ago, but whenever I've wanted to satisfy my ice cream fix I'd always gone to the dependable Twistee Treat across the street. Those times are no more. (Okay maybe not no more ever, but trust me this is the place to go). My SO and I stopped by this last weekend after Twistee Treats lines were out to the street. Again. We were immediately welcomed by the Jerks behind the bar (yes, really, they like being called that), who graciously explained the ice cream and soda options. I got a small ice cream, 1/2 hazelnut, 1/2 vanilla truffle, and my fiance got a strawberry shake. And both were fantastic! The ice cream was creamy and perfectly non-melty and sweet, and you can tell that they use really ice cream in the shake--it was so think and wonderful. The ice cream is Hershey's premium--I have no idea whether there is actually any difference between this and what you can buy in store, all I can say is that I can't remember the last time I had ice cream this good. The prices were really reasonable as well-a small ice cream is $3 and a large is $5, and you get a lot of ice cream with each size. The atmosphere is really sweet and quaint. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and inside they have big checkerboards set up for play. Overall, this will 100% be my go-to around-the-corner ice cream shop in the future. read more

But you don't have to get too old-fashioned if that's not your style. They offer traditional ice cream sundaes and more, too. I for one love the salted caramel bananas foster ice cream. This is a wonderful addition to the West Orange 5 plaza, because the only thing better than popcorn and a movie is ice cream before or after a flick. We visited just before seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming and found the establishment to be busy, but still friendly and efficient. I ordered a coffee crunch milkshake and my boyfriend had an old fashioned root beer float (which we watched them make the soda for!) The quality of our items was top notch, and we felt them to be reasonably priced. All of the tables appeared to have games (checkers, Jenga, Connect 4, etc) - and we had a fun time enjoying our treats with a friendly competition. It was nice to look around and see families enjoying the pastime of ice cream and games without everyone being on their phones. No pretensions here ... just great ice creams in a spotless place with very friendly staff (shout out to Nick). Visited twice in one week, which should be an indication of satisfaction. The first time I had the Brownie Hot Fudge Sundae and it was great. Warm brownie, rich vanilla ice cream and true hot fudge (not syrup). Totally satisfying and transported me back to the "good old days" of heading down to the sweet shoppe in town. Yesterday's stop was for a banana split and Nick prepared it absolutely perfectly. You can, of course, choose your own ice cream flavors, toppings, etc. but I went traditional and that's what it was. Again, totally satisfying and appeased the sweet tooth. I spotted West Orange Creamery while my husband and I were on our way to Barnes and Noble and we immediately made a u-turn to stop in. First of all, the inside is super cute, kind of old-timey and they have those big table checkers games which would be great for kids. My husband got a vanilla milkshake which he loved and I had the old fashioned sodas. The root beer was really good (I'm craving it right now actually) and I got a refill of the cherry soda, which they make by putting syrup in the glass, spray in the soda water (or whatever it is), then put in some cherry juice, put in 3 or 4 cherries and add ice. It was sooo good!! Dangerous place if you're trying to stay away from soda lol! I also signed up for those text message rewards. About an hour ago I got a text message for a free coffee the next time I go, so I definitely recommend joining that. All in all, great place, reasonably priced and I'll be back soon. read more

I had originally come for the ice cream but I realized it was Hershey's brand which I don't eat so I was about to leave and noticed the rum cake. I decided to grab two and take them home. An a self proclaimed ice cream connoisseur, I can say this place is awesome! One thing you can run into with hard ice cream and a lot of options is it getting freezer burned, not the case here! Great flavors, different than what I can find at the store plus... I can try them before I buy. The only reason there aren't 5 stars (and this might just be me) is that there were 2 mom's and 4 kids when we were there - yelling loud. Like, to the point that my husband and I couldn't hear each other. The kids kept being told "you're not the only ones in here now, settle down" and they would for a brief time. It was obnoxious... I am so sad to give this creamery 4 stars, it really deserves 5 but first, hear me out. As you walk in it's just super cute inside from the setup of the ice cream to the lighted heart. From here I was expecting everything to be perfection. The employees were great. The best thing about this place, is that they make their waffle cone/bowl fresh like in minutes right in front of you. When the ice cream hits the waffle it melts it just a little which makes it the perfect consistency. The ice cream itself is incredible. My boyfriend got the nighttime snack milkshake, which is a combination of vanilla ice cream and fruity pebbles, it was delicious. I got a hot fudge sundae in a waffle bowl which comes with whipped cream, hot fudge, nuts and a cherry. My whipped cream was completely melted when I got my sundae, leaking off the sides as he handed it to me. It wasn't because of the waffle cuz it wasn't touching the waffle part, I got a very light hand of hot fudge as well. If I'm ordering a sundae, I got it specifically for hot fudge and whipped cream so I need a fair amount of both on my ice cream or I could have just gotten regular ice cream on its own. Presentation is everything to me, as he poured out the whipped cream and it came out like that he should have already known that it's not supposed to look like that and done it over. Horrible service called in a order for curbside did not get the order curbside bc it was taking so long so went inside to ask about the BOGO that was advertised on FB and did not specify that BOGO was dine in only it was not honored and I did not get my order curbside, and during a pandemic to only do dine in is ridiculous when I went in the line was to the door and there was NO SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!
