I met Dean and I believe the other person was Jeff, I might be wrong but... these guys were the most nicest people you could ever meet. Dean welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. You just couldn't beat the vibe in there as well as the customer service I wish other shops can take note of this, beginner or advanced angler, it should not matter how you are treated. It's like a no ego zone. I can't wait for this shop to bloom and flourish. Me and a buddy are visiting so cal for the pcs show, but wanted to stop by here on our way back home to the Bay Area. I'm sure glad we did They carry "Reyes Swimbaits" and it's one of the nicest hand poured plastics you could get your hands on. The color patterns and durability is top tier. I highly recommend them. Thank you for showing us love LA fishing alliance. We'll be back!!

Robert was extremely helpful and friendly. After asking me a few questions, he was able to gauge my level of experience and make great suggestions. From the beginning to the end he helped me every step of the way. Robert even went above and beyond by checking the fish report of my upcoming charter. He then suggested what tackle is recommended for the trip. Not your typical gatekeeper tackle shop. The products there are top brands but with reasonable prices. Something for every budget but also high end gear if that's what you're going for. They have cool clothing and often organize fishing events where local anglers are encouraged to compete. I highly recommend LA Fishing Alliance for both beginners and advanced anglers. Real cool spot, up to date, top products, quality service, good vibes.

I consider Jimmy to be in epitome of a small family business providing amazing products at incredible prices to the community. The shop is simple and hard to park at but when you walk in you realize that you have hit an absolute treasure of products to satisfy the fresh and salt water angler of this area. Known for his surface irons the volume of colors and sizes are staggering and all at 30% or so of the main competition. Thing is, you don't need to worry about if they swim and picking out the perfect ones like you do with the others, Caivo's are all guaranteed to swim and have the right action in the water. If you are looking for the slim, sold type jigs, he has a bunch of those as well. Yo-yo jigs, irons, feathers, lead heads, plastics, sabiki rigs, sinkers, hooks, if you are looking for local favorites for really great prices, this is the place for you. I appreciate Jimmy not just for the products and the scope of what he offers but the man works so hard and is a well known staple in our community. Will absolutely be back.

They're pretty much rock stars in the custom and tactical knife world, but they are very down to earth and treat every customer with dignity, respect, and give you the benefit of the doubt. Their production line is fantastic... I have many friends with Emerson Knives and I've enjoyed trying out each and every one of them. Their custom line is just a step above the rest. Difficult to acquire, a closed order book, requires you to sign up for lotteries and shows in the hopes that you acquire one at the reasonable table price of between $650-$850. Otherwise, you will be paying a premium from a third party dealer of between $900 to $3000 depending on the knife in question. In fact for some of the rarer customs the prices will skyrocket beyond that upper limit I just mentioned. One day I will win a lottery custom...and I will be ecstatic. =)

I the called and spoke with a young lady who apparently knew absolutely nothing about anything. She was not unfriendly or hostile, just totally clueless. I requested that she have somebody at Emerson contact me with an answer to my question. After 2 more weeks, still zero response. So, I have to ask - why does Emerson even claim to have a customer service section? It is completely useless and a waste of time. As stated, I like my CQC 15 but, based on this experience, will make no future purchases from Emerson. There are too many other quality knife makers who actually value their customers for me to do so.

Captain Michael, 2nd captain Max, galley cook and deckhand Ayden, as well as the other 2 deckhands John and Cooper made it an amazing trip. Not only did they put us on the fish, but they helped recommend the proper tackle tips, ensured we had minimal tangles, and had the gaf ready for each fish that made it up. The meals included in our trip price was very good. Kept us fueled as we were putting major time at the rail fishing. I will definitely be booking another trip on this boat before the season is over. It started in the tackle shop when I asked for a lure but had the name wrong. Instead of simply helping me figure out what I was looking for, the employee made a point of correcting me and did it with an unnecessary attitude. Then there was the $20 fuel surcharge. With gas prices having come down considerably, I was surprised to still see an additional fuel charge added to the trip. The deckhands were good and I had no issues with them. I could also question why we went after bluefin when the yellowtail bite has been hot, but I understand that is ultimately the captain's decision. At the end of the trip, I cleared my galley tab for $25. I'll take responsibility for not confirming exactly what I was being charged for, but I had a cheeseburger, a Coke, and asked to have three rockfish filleted, so the amount seemed about right. I also left a tip. When we got back to the dock, however, I received all three fish whole--not gutted or filleted. When I questioned it, the response was basically an "oh well" attitude with no real attempt to fix the situation. Mistakes happen, and none of these issues individually would necessarily ruin a trip. The bigger problem is the overall attitude and lack of customer service. I gave them another chance, but unfortunately I don't feel much has changed.
