It usually takes a little something extra for a Five Star review, and yet Fisherman's Supplies qualifies with straight up good service, plenty of product and friendly shop keepers. I've been several times, mostly for tackle. They have repaired a tip or two on my poles. This year I did a service on three reels. The reels took a little longer than I would have liked, but they quoted me a couple weeks and delivered on time. I was a little surprised at the amount, but did te string with some spectra and top shot of mono. I got a good value because when I inspected the reels they looked Brand New. I had multi years worth of salt and blue rust. Gone! Today I bought a variety of tackle for a gift and a used pole. Greeted when I came in. Asked how I was doing. Thanked me for coming in and not shopping on line. I asked if she (Ive only seen two woman working here) would take less on the $45 pole. She said Forty. Haha, I was hoping for $30 but she did give me a courtesy discount. Sometimes it's not about how much but just the thought. Great Shop Local establishment. read more

This place is awesome. One of the few "mom & pop" type store still around. Walking into the store is like a stepping into a Time Machine of the old local tackle shops from years ago. I just love this shop. T is amazingly knowledgeable and super friendly. Last year upon returning from a family eastern sierra trout trip, my wife's favorite "mojo" trout pole upper half cracked. I panicked and was unable to find a replacement anywhere online. Not even on eBay. I showed T the cracked trout rod and she suggested how to repair what I thought was a hopeless endeavor. She even had the exact matching thread I needed (amazing) and offered more professional guidance on the repair. The rod repair came out perfect and the color thread she sold to me was a perfect match. So happy with all her suggestions she made. I would never get this level of service elsewhere (Maybe Pete's would help). Most shops would try to sell me a new rod. Love this local shop. No hard sell, and very knowledgeable. This is a fantastic fishing supply store good stock, good snd reliable owner. Never disappointed. Tee has made my sticks for 20 years, and a dozen in the last few years, always the best with Fuji guides and aftco butts, and a very fair price. I price check her against Amazon and eBay and her prices are always lower on new reels, I have purchased many Avet and Shimano reels. Recently I caught a 175# marlin on a Shimano Spinning reel. If you've ever been to Fisherman's Supplies, you know Master "T". She's the first person to greet you with a cheerful smile, and never pressures you into buying a single thing, you could just enter and talk the whole time. I stumbled across this wonderful shop by chance as I was looking for tackle shops in the area. Very happy I did, T has been nothing but amazing since I first walked in. She ordered countless items for me, including the 50W Blue Avet in the picture, and gave excellent advice for anything I didn't know! She also custom wrapped an old rod that was given to me by an old friend who she actually knew and it turned out beautiful. That Avet/Rod set up helped me land my PR Bluefin Tuna about 3 weeks ago and of course I went straight over to the shop to tell her! I've donated old gear to her as well because I know she'll take care of it and she's even fixed some old reels that I thought were toast. This place is such a Gem! Tee was super helpful ! I am planning on getting a custom rod made from her. Her spirit is so uplifting as well as Pete! They shared knowledge with my brother and I who mainly left pier fishing and are moving into deeper waters and shore fishing. Been shopping at this spot since she had a store front next Chuckey Cheese late 80's early 90's. The owner was as friendly and knowledgeable then when I was a kid, as she is now as an adult. Moved the store to Prairie ave, and then to the permanent location on Redondo Beach Blvd. Hands down the best fishing supply store in the South Bay. It's a small spot, but has everything a serious fisherman is looking for. Great selection of lures, plastics, irons, weights, etc! Can't beat the pricing! All that said the most important aspect of this supply store is the expert craftsmanship in making custom made saltwater rods. If you want to catch more fish, bigger fish, invest in her custom made rods. Long lasting, and she repairs if needed. I've been shopping here 30+ years. Again she's probably the most experienced rod maker in Southern California. Enough said! read more

This is a little hole in the wall fishing store, catering mostly to commercial fisherman and serious anglers looking for custom work, but they are very helpful, have some great used gear and are a small family business. I was bummed out when Yo's custom rods closed their doors. But then I found T's shop, and she wraps all my rods. I buy just about all my gear there, from local fishing to big game long range fishing. Lots of commercial gear there as well, but she has lots of contacts and if it's not there, she'll get it for you. read more

"T" did some minor rod repairs and I WAS a good customer buying other terminal tackle from the store, until she made a rod for me from a blank. All roller guides were misaligned, she put on the wrong reel seat, it was not usable. Guides were so crooked the line would not sit in the roller on some of the guides and could snag between the side of the roller and roller frame. She was totally unreasonable when I pointed this out to her. She said it was fine and I suggested she take it back since it was beyond repair, if she thought it was fine she could take my name off it and resell it in her store, she would only take it back if I paid a 35% restocking fee!! I have never sued anyone in my life but she was so unreasonable I took her to small claims court, mainly out of principle. Took 2 minutes for the non fishing judge to see how poorly aligned were the guides. She also had to pay my court filing fees. Never been back, it was an awful experience. read more
