We were helped by a younger salesman in there and after probably irritating the shit out of him for a few hours we both ended up purchasing some nice fishing kayaks with accessories. So, this is just an update since I recently bought another kayak from here, this time the 2016 Hobie Outback with an upgraded sailing rudder and a heavy duty Hobie cart, and I love it so far. The booking process was easy, and the website provided everything we needed, including FAQs, waivers, and clear instructions. A few days before the party, however, we received an email stating our reservation had been canceled due to non payment of the deposit, even though we had paid in full at the time of booking. This was understandably stressful with the party just days away! Thankfully the next business day, we were able to confirm it was a system error. We were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early for our 2 to 4pm party. All of our guests arrived at 1:30pm, but there was no host to greet us or provide direction. The front area is a large airsoft store, while the party check in and setup are located in the back. We were initially told our party space was upstairs, but after setting up there, we learned it was actually the back staircase area that had the tables, chairs, and windows overlooking the arena. Unfortunately, no one explained this ahead of time, so we had to move all of our decorations, food, and gifts. By the time we were settled, it was 2pm, and we were told we needed to wait in the general line to check in our 14 players. With only two employees assisting a long line of customers, this delayed our party start. It was frustrating to lose valuable game time, especially after arriving early as instructed. Thankfully, an employee eventually pulled our group out of line and got the kids set up with safety rules and gear. The private arena space was a bit smaller than expected, but the kids still had an absolute blast. We were also unaware that the expectation was two straight hours of gameplay followed by food and cake afterward. We chose to serve food earlier while it was hot and cake before it melted, which required the kids to remove their gear and then re gear for re entry. Better communication about party flow would have helped us plan more smoothly. To their credit, the staff did allow the kids an extra 15 to 20 minutes of game time to make up for the delayed start, which we appreciated. Overall, the experience was fun and memorable for the kids. The private party can get pricy based upon headcount. But worth the unique birthday experience. With improved organization, clearer communication, and a more streamlined check in process for parties, this could easily be a five star experience. We would still bring them back in the future.

The backstory is my…read morehusband has been dealing with Planter Facetious and has gotten some inserts at REI back in December and that got us through 4 grueling days of Disneyworld. Since then he's had flair ups now and then, but nothing compared to this weekend. We walked 8 miles over 2 days in South Lake Tahoe and he was feeling it. Last week he was having a conversation with is coworker who is a runner until she got planter factious. That got talking to him talking about his foot issues to. His coworker suggested we get some of these really tacky shoes that looks like crocs living on a billow. According to her they are supposed to be helpful and at the same time you wouldn't want to be caught dead in them. In their ad they were referred to as recovery shoes. With his cowered suggestion he was finally open to exploring the new shoe option. Previously I tried to turn him to getting some new shoes at REI but, he thought the inserts were good enough so I let the subject drop. I did some research on the shoes his coworker suggested and read mixed reviews on Reddit and other sites. He's in so much pain that we're willing to try anything. Sadly, they don't sell this brand at REI so I talked him into going to REI and giving something they have in stock a try. When I had Planter Facetious my girlfriend turned me to HOKAs. Those weren't an instant cure, but they got me on my way. So, I suggested he give them a try for a daily shoes and another shoe aka a house shoe. From what I have been told you shouldn't go barefoot when you have Planter Facetious. When we got to REI we started our search for a house shoe, the ones his coworkers suggested looked more like an house shoe than a real daily shoe. When I was searching for reviews on the shoes his coworker suggested I got a lead on OOFOS. They were recommended by one of the reviewers that didn't find the other shoes helpful. OOFOS are located in the shoes section on racks near the rubber Birkenstocks. They had lots of OOFOS. Both slide and thong options. He tried both on and went with OOriginal Sandals, the thong styles they were more comfortable. Next for the hard part. Searching for a daily shoe. He tried on many models. Two different styles of HOKAs and Brooks. After walking around the store for around an hour he settled on the Brooks. They are dark grew with a muted red swish on it. Very stylish in it's own way. He just bought a pair of dress shoes that look fabulous and he's sad to not be able to wear them now. Too bad as I really like them. Hopefully after he recovers he'll be able to wear them again. I've been going on a few years now using my HOKAs as my main shoe. I trade off on Sundays to go to church and wear a pretty dress shoes and I recently got a pair of saddles from the geriatric shoe store that are cute and comfy. For my house shoe I use my Birkenstocks. The classic style with the fluff. While he was shopping for shoes I went coat shopping. I wanted a white coat that was fashionable and functional. I found some really cute ones, but they were more fashion then functional. I finally settled on a white rain coat that will be perfect for our trip to Seattle. It's short but not too short that my purse sticks out. I think it's going to be a good additional to my wardrobe and gives me an option to my red raincoat that I got a few years back at REI. Now we're hoping we made the right decisions and all he'll have happy feet. I really hope his feet heal before our trip to AZ where we'll be doing a lot of walking as we explore Horseshoe bend and Antelope Canyon.

Be wary of storing your boat or trailer here…read more 1) I had them detail my boat at the beginning of the 2026 season. When I got in the boat I found dirty footprints from their shoes inside. Unfortunately, this has been a recurring issue. Each time I take my boat out I can see additional dirty footprints with the tread pattern of someone's shoes inside the boat. Obviously my family and I do not allow shoes to be worn in our wakeboard boat. Oddly enough, I have heard similar complaints from other Gold Key customers. 2) I recently asked Gold Key to charge the batteries on my boat so I did not have to deal with potential dead batteries when launching. To my dismay, they did not charge the batteries and left the battery switch in the "on" position (after they detailed it). This subsequently killed both batteries. I stored a 5th wheel trailer here for a couple years as well and had similar issues with them not following through on charging batteries, plugging in my trickle charger (when I specifically asked them to), and not filling propane tanks when specifically asked to do so. 3) The most perplexing thing about Gold Key Marine is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Not a great operations model considering their customer base largely utilizes their stored items on the weekends (i.e. Sunday). If you bring your boat back to them on a Saturday evening, it will sit outside until they come in to the office the following week. 4) I have had multiple bad experiences with their office staff. If you are lucky enough to actually get them on the phone, be prepared to be brushed off as if you are irrelevant. For example, when I called to inquire about options and pricing for detailing my boat prior to the season, the office manager at the time was very hostile and was uninterested in helping. She informed me that she had too many options for detailing and therefore could not take the time to discuss them. She advised that I "do my research" then get back to her. As if saying "its $xx.xx per foot to detail the inside and outside of the boat" is too much to ask. Or even a statement such as, "We have numerous options. I can provide documentation that details what is included with each package." Unfortunately that did not happen. After a back and forth conversation with her, she agreed to send me the options for various detailing packages. I am unsure why it was so difficult to do that from the beginning. At the end of the day it is my fault for continuing to utilize Gold Key Marine for as long as I have. The convenient location outweighed the poor customer service, until now.

When I finally got the contract, they had an attached addendum specifying six month Minimum with three services included. After 30 days they did nothing to sell my boat, including, no consignment contract completed. So when I gave my 30 days on January 27, they told me that I have a six month minimum rental. Don't trust Mike because he'll say anything doesn't matter if it's true or false. Never thought that I've been with this company to store my boats for over 10 years, ever come to this.
