Worst place ever to order!! Guy who takes the order is the rudest person ever with no customer service skills! I order a combination plate and simply asked to have the crab ragoon in a separate bag so that it will not come soggy in the container and he said flat out "no"! He said that it is not part of the order and if i want the crab ragoon on the side then i can order a side of crab ragoon. I tried to explain that i do not want an extra side of crab ragoons i just want it outside of the container so it wont be delivered soggy and he said "no we do not do that you can order a side of crab ragoon". Never order wonton soup from here! I ordered wonton soup under the impression there was going to be pork. I get home and there's nothing but pasta. The soup is pink looking. No taste at all. I paid in cash and called them to tell them I want my money back. The lady said no refund. I asked what Can you give me for food. I got lo-mein and there is no skill that goes into making it. The noodles were apparently reheated on the grill because they were burnt, covered in black marks and tidbits and tasted burnt as well. I was in the area with my family and decided to stop by West Garden for some lunch! The employees here take orders in both English and Chinese. I love love love the crab rangoons here, made to order and super pretty! The fried chicken wings here are also super hot, fresh and flavorful. These are my fave appetizers from here! My family initially called to order vermicelli, which is an off menu item that they didn't have but instead of turning us away, they were able to replace the vermicelli with a more flavorful noodle. I called to order while driving over and they had my order ready within 20 minutes of my call! Customer service here is great as it is a local business run by a family. I would definitely recommend coming here and would definitely cater from here for any future events that I host with my family. Its great comfort food very quick and reasonable service. read more

I was at the VA hospital and didn't want to eat hospital food. The staff recommended West Garden. I placed the order through GrubHub and I unknowingly paid for this meal twice. I did not know my corporate card was saved on GrubHub and second, I didn't know that my card was charged at the time. When the delivery guy showed up... This used to be my favorite Chinese take out. Last Saturday night ordered our usual and had it delivered. Made up a plate and dug into the Peking Noodles with pork and out fell a piece of medical tape and a piece of string which apparently fell of one of the cooks fingers. For $19.99 you get a lot of food... 4 chicken wings (4 - moist and up to par with regular Chinese wings), 2 beef teriyaki (3.5 - lean flavor was less sweet), 2 shrimp fingers (5 right amount of batter), 4 chicken fingers (5 batter spot on), 4 crab ragoon (4.5 - right amount of filling ratio but the flavor was just not quite there), spare ribs (3.5 - it is less sweet but the flavor is good the only issue was that it was really burnt), 2 egg roll (?? It looked decent but I am never a fan of chinese egg rolls so I didn't try it). Overall I would come here again. I do like Pu Pu's flavoring more but not by that much. read more

I asked if their "Chinese dumplings" were potstickers (Chinese food is very different on the east coast, so I wanted to make sure I knew what I was ordering). He couldn't understand what I was trying to ask. After repeating the question 3 different ways I finally gave up and ordered egg rolls instead. There. Egg rolls. I'll take the egg rolls. Is that simple enough for you to comprehend? Onto the next item. There was confusion about what we wanted to order as I was on the phone, so I told the Nazi "scratch those last two items, we'll just get the two combo plates, ribs, and crab rangoon." When I hung up I KNEW he would get our order wrong. Granted, I probably should have reiterated our order at the end of the call, but on the other hand, I feel like it's THEIR responsibility to make sure they've got it right. No? (Yes.) Sure enough, the order was wrong. I got bitched out for ordering wrong and started crying. I'm not unusually sensitive; he was just especially mean. The customer isn't always right, but the last thing a business should do is alienate a customer by telling them that THEY fucked up. OK, my girlfriend and I just had the worst experience at a Chinese Food restaurant here. The staff behind the counter didn't understand what we were ordering, despite the fact that we were pointing to it on the menu. Their limited English made ordering a major, major hassle. Then, after sorting through everything and literally pointing to the menu, they couldn't get the cost right, and were more than $10 over the right price on a dinner for two. When we asked for a look at the receipt, the people behind the counter refused and claimed we were being difficult. At which point we asked for our credit card back and cancelled the whole order. The General Gau's Chicken is a huge portion of full chicken breasts - yes, that's right - you don't get chopped up, breaded chicken pieces here, only full chicken breasts. I've noticed a few people complaining about the employees but from my experience, they were very nice and cooperative. Yes, their english is a not fluent but it's not their fault and they try their best. I've talked to the lady that works at the front and she told me they've been open for over ten years! I dont usually write bad reviews since I usually feel that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. I could have loved this place---and I used to. The rudeness is crazy. I've been ordering from them for more than a decade, but tonight they have crossed the line and lost a customer who spent hundreds of dollars there on an annual basis since we order takeout at least twice a week due to our schedules. Tonight they got my order wrong, no big deal right? Instead of saying "sorry miss, we will fix it." I was being yelled at by a woman telling me I didn't order what I knew I ordered. They left off an item from my order and put the wrong meat on my combo plate. Wait..that is NOT the bad part.....it gets worse....in 45 minutes they are sending somebody to my home with the missing item (which they are still charging me for) AND they have requested that we give them back the meat from the combo plate!!!!! Yes...you read that right. They are bringing only the meat from the plate that they got wrong but they HAVE REQUESTED THE PORK BE TAKEN FROM THE COMBO PLATE AND RETURNED TO THEM!!! Why do they want the meat back? Why didn't they just send us a new hot plate and take whole plate back? Are they giving that meat to another person? Their error has disrupted our meal and they were beyond rude about it all. To the missing half of your order 45 minutes later is absurd. Nobody should treat longterm customers like this. We ate here for the first time a few days ago. We ordered food for pick up. We ordered a ton of food and it was all ready within 10 to 15 minutes. I'm relatively new to American Chinese food and I've been experimenting with a few places. Their chicken fried rice was probably my favorite so far. Very moist with a lot of chicken. Their Teriyaki chicken appetizer were pretty good too. Great seasoning and tender meat. Their General Gau chicken was amazing. The sauce was great and the pieces of chicken were pretty large. The box was probably enough for a few people. Everything else I tried was pretty good except for the Sweet and Sour chicken platter with pork fried rice and chicken fingers and spring rolls as appetizers. The sweet and sour chicken was waaay too sweet for my taste. Also, the way the chicken was fried made me think of it as fried dough with a hint of chicken. The spring rolls were ok, but I've had better. Overall, I will definitely be going back there for my next Chinese food order, I just won't be ordering the chicken fingers (including the sweet and sour chicken). read more
