Very unprofessional. I took my new bucket bag this place to add some more holes to the strap. The new holes are not even , not centred!! (Pic 1) I can't buckle it well and nicely. (Pic 2) He decided to bend the little stick of the buckle to make it buckled well. OH well, now it does not get buckled well in original holes. He poorly added holes in my strap and added scratches and bent the buckle. These are what he said, "don't use it if you don't want" - he said this when I complained it doesn't get buckled well in an original hole because he twisted the buckle. WTF? I would buckle in original holes sometimes but he just made it not possible! how could he say i don't need to use it if i don't want it? "Everything can't be perfect" - Again, WTF? He does not know when he needs to say "SORRY". He never said "sorry" to me. I even understood when he failed to add holes nicely. BUT, who wants to use a new bag which can't get buckled well???? And he still wanted to charge me "$50" for my shoes and the bag. No discount huh. (Actually the retail store told me it may cost about $200 to replace the whole strap.) Ruined the nice leather strap, scratched and bent the buckle. and HE STILL WANTED TO GET PAID????? + No apology NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. As I was having a backache and did not want to argue with him for too long, (because he would not really understand and accept his terrible job), I just left. Fixed my wife's boots for a very minimal charge and managed to do it while we were in two for just a couple of days. Super fun old guy who knows his trade and probably doesn't suffer fools very easily. Highly recommended. Art is nearly 80 years old and has been fixing my shoes, boots, and leather goods since 1970, 48 years, after we moved in down the block from him. He is one great cobbler and leather worker. You don't find guys like him much any more. A little crusty, fond of the F word but a hell of a talented craftsman. It is worth paying his price to get the quality of work. Owned and operated by a true craftsman, this little shop is my go-to place for all shoe repairs. You know that perfect pair of shoes or boots you have that you LOVE so much that you wear them out? He'll bring them back to life. Shoes that you love, but the heel shape is out of date? New heel shape = new shoes. New soles, new heel wraps, toe and heel tips replaced - I'm always amazed at what can be done. Highly recommended. Just be aware that he's a cash or cheque guy only. read more

Brought my blundtsones in to reinforce a torn pull tab and he replaced them with a stronger webbing. When I returned he had removed the classic blundstone tabs. I had just wanted them reinforced and was disapointed when they were removed. He saw that I wanted the classic blundstone pull tab and found them in the garbage and sewed them onto the stronger webbing. He said he always wants the customer to be happy and I was very impressed with him for adding in the extra effort. Someone who shows pride in his work and customers. Excellent work. read more

love him! i take all of my footwear to him and he does a wonderful job on all repairs: recovers driving foot heal syndrome, heal tips (the soft ones that dont make that aweful noise), new soles, patching .. many of my friends have gone and are regulars now.
